Funktionalisierte rußhaltige Kautschuke
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft funktionalisierte rußhaltige Kautschuke, die Herstellung solcher Kautschukmischungen sowie deren Verwendung zur Herstellung von Kautschukvulkanisaten. Diese eignen sich vor allem zur Herstellung von hochverstärkten Kautschuk-Formkörpern, insbesondere zur
Herstellung von Reifen, die einen besonders geringen Rollwiderstand und eine besonders hohe Nassrutschfestigkeit und Abriebbeständigkeit aufweisen.
Doppelbindungshaltige anionisch polymerisierte Lösungskautschuke, wie Lösungs-Polybutadien und Lösungs-Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuke, besitzen gegenüber entsprechenden Emulsions- kautschuken Vorteile bei der Herstellung rollwiderstandsarmer Reifenlaufflächen. Die Vorteile liegen u.a. in der Steuerbarkeit des Vinylgehalts und der damit verbundenen Glastemperatur und der Molekülverzweigung. Hieraus ergeben sich in der praktischen Anwendung besondere Vorteile in der Relation von Nassrutschfestigkeit und Rollwiderstand des Reifens. So beschreibt US-A 5.227.425 die Herstellung von Reifenlaufflächen aus einem Lösungs-Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuk und Kieselsäure. Zur weiteren Verbesserung der Eigenschaften sind zahlreiche Methoden zur
Endgruppen-Modifizierung entwickelt worden, wie in EP-A 334 042 beschrieben mit Dimethyl- aminopropylacrylamid, wie in EP-A 447.066 beschrieben mit Silylethern, mit Amin oder einem Benzophenonderivat. Durch das hohe Molekulargewicht der Kautschuke ist der Gewichtsanteil der Endgruppen jedoch gering, und diese können daher die Wechselwirkung zwischen Füllstoff und Kautschukmolekül nur wenig beeinflussen. Aus EP-A 1000971 sind höherfunktionalisierte carboxylgruppenhaltige Copolymere aus Vinylaromaten und Diolefmen bekannt mit einem Anteil von 10 bis 500 Gewichtsteilen Füllstoff. Als Füllstoff wird dort in erster Linie Silica (Kieselsäure) eingesetzt. In einigen Fällen wird Silica zusammen mit deutlich niedrigeren Anteilen an Ruß verwendet. Kieselsäure hat den Vorteil, dass eine einfache Wechselwirkung der OH-Gruppen der Silicaoberfläche mit den Carboxylgruppen des funktionalisierten Kautschuks stattfinden kann. Ruß kann daher aufgrund seines stärker hydrophoben Charakters nur als zusätzlicher Bestandteil eingesetzt werden und dient der Farbgebung der Mischung.
Mischungen mit Kieselsäure haben jedoch den Nachteil, dass sie aufwändiger zu verarbeiten sind, da die Kieselsäure nur unter Zuhilfenahme eines Silans in den Kautschuk homogen einarbeitbar ist. Diese Silane sind zudem sehr teuer. Mischungen mit Ruß als Hauptfüllstoffkomponente haben den
Vorteil, dass diese billiger sind, da auf das teure Silan verzichtet werden kann. Sie sind leichter zu verarbeiten, was zu einer Reduzierung von Mischzeit und der Herstellkosten führt.
Es bestand daher die Aufgabe neue, kostengünstige und einfacher herzustellende Mischungen aus funktionalisierten Kautschuken und Füllstoffen bereitzustellen, aus denen sich Reifen mit ver- besserter Nassrutschfestigkeit, niedrigerem Rollwiderstand sowie hoher mechanischer Festigkeit und verbessertem Abriebverhalten herstellen lassen.
Überraschenderweise wurde nun gefunden, dass bestimmte rußhaltige Kautschukmischungen mit funktionalisierten Kautschuken diese Aufgabe erfüllen.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind daher Kautschukmischungen bestehend aus mindestens einem funktionalisierten Kautschuk und 10 bis 500 Gewichtsteilen Ruß, bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile Kautschuk, wobei der Kautschuk durch Polymerisation von Diolefmen und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomeren in Lösung und anschließender Einführung von funktionellen Gruppen hergestellt wurde, dieser Kautschuk 0,02 bis 3 Gewichts-%, vorzugsweise 0,05 bis 2 Gewichts-% an gebundenen funktionellen Gruppen und/oder deren Salzen, einen Gehalt an einpolymerisierten vinylaromatischen Monomeren von 0 bis 60 Gewichts-%, vorzugsweise 15 bis 45 Gewichts-%, sowie einen Gehalt an Diolefmen von 40 bis 100 Gewichts-%, vorzugsweise 55 bis 85 Gewichts-% besitzt, und wobei der Gehalt an 1 ,2-gebundenen Diolefmen (Vinylgehalt) 0,5 bis 95 Gewichts-%, vorzugsweise 10 bis 85 Gewichts-%, jeweils bezogen auf den eingesetzten Lösungskautschuk, beträgt.
Ruße im Sinne der Erfindung sind nach dem Flammruß-, Channel-, Furnace-, Gasruß-, Thermal-, Acetylenruß- oder Lichtbogenverfahren hergestellte Ruße und besitzen BET-Oberflächen von 9 - 200 m2/g, z.B. Super Abrasion Furnace- (SAF-), Intermediate SAF- (ISAF-), Intermediate SAF Low Structure- (ISAF-LS-), Intermediate SAF High Modulus- (ISAF-HM-), Intermediate SAF Low Modulus- (ISAF-LM-), Intermediate SAF High Structure- (ISAF-HS-), Conductive Furnace- (CF-),
Super Conductive Furnace- (SCF-), High Abrasion Furnace- (HAF-), High Abrasion Furnace Low Structure- (HAF-LS-), HAF-HS-, Fine Furnace High Structure- (FF-HS-), Semi Reinforcing Furnace (SRF-), Extra Conductive Furnace- (XCF-), Fast Extruding Furnace- (FEF-), Fast Extruding Furnace Low Structure- (FEF-LS-), Fast Extruding Furnace High Structure- (FEF-HS-), General Purpose Furnace- (GPF-), GPF-HS-, All Purpose Furnace- (APF-), SRF-LS-, SRF-LM-, SRF-HS-,
SRF-HM- und Medium Thermal- (MT-) Ruße bzw. nach der ASTM- Klassifizierung die Typen N I lO-, N219-, N220-, N231-, N234-, N242-, N294-, N326-, N327-, N330-, N332-, N339-, N347-, N351-, N356-, N358-, N375-, N472-, N539-, N550-, N568-, N650-, N660-, N754-, N 762-, N 765-, N 774-, N 787- und N990-Ruße.
Die Anwesenheit weiterer Füllstoffe, einzeln oder im Gemisch, ist möglich, in jedem Fall ist jedoch
Ruß der Hauptbestandteil, d.h. bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge an Füllstoff zu mindestens 50% enthalten. Bei den weiteren Füllstoffen kann es sich sowohl um aktive als auch inaktive Füllstoffe handeln, wie: hochdisperse Kieselsäuren, hergestellt z.B. durch Fällung von Lösungen von Silikaten oder Flammenhydrolyse von Siliciumhalogeniden mit spezifischen Oberflächen von 5 - 1000, vorzugsweise 20 - 400 m /g (BET-Oberfläche) und mit Primärteilchengrößen von 10 - 400 nm. Die Kieselsäuren können gegebenenfalls auch als Mischoxide mit anderen Metalloxiden, wie Al- , Mg-, Ca-, Ba-, Zn-, Zr-, Ti-Oxiden vorliegen;
synthetische Silikate, wie Aluminiumsilikat, Erdalkalisilikat wie Magnesiumsilikat oder Calciumsilikat, mit BET-Oberflächen von 20 - 400 m2/g und Primärteilchendurchmessern von 10 - 400 nm;
natürliche Silikate, wie Kaolin und andere natürlich vorkommende Kieselsäure; - Glasfasern und Glasfaserprodukte (Matten, Stränge) oder Mikroglaskugeln;
Metalloxide, wie Zinkoxid, Calciumoxid, Magnesiumoxid, Aluminiumoxid; Metallcarbonate, wie Magnesiumcarbonat, Calciumcarbonat, Zinkcarbonat; Metallhydroxide, wie z.B. Aluminiumhydroxid, Magnesiumhydroxid;
Kautschukgele, insbesondere solche auf Basis Polybutadien, Butadien-Styrol-Copolymere, Butadien- Acrylnitril-Copolymere und Polychloropren.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung weisen die funktionalisierten Kautschuke als Bestandteil ein oder mehrere vinylaromatische Monomere auf.
Als vinylaromatische Monomere, die für die Polymerisation eingesetzt werden können, seien beispielsweise genannt Styrol, o-, m- und/oder p-Methylstyrol, p-tert.-Butylstyrol, α-Methylstyrol, Vinylnaphthalin, Divinylbenzol, Trivinylbenzol und/oder Divinylnaphthalin. Besonders bevorzugt wird Styrol eingesetzt.
Als Diolefine sind 1,3-Butadien, Isopren, 1,3-Pentadien, 2,3-Dimethylbutadien, l-Phenyl-1,3- Butadien und/oder 1,3-Hexadien bevorzugt. Besonders bevorzugt werden 1,3-Butadien und/oder Isopren eingesetzt.
Die erfindungsgemäß in die Kautschukmischungen einzusetzenden Kautschuke auf Basis Diolefi- nen und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomeren, die einen Gehalt von 0,02 bis 3 Gewichts-% an gebundenen funktionellen Gruppen besitzen, weisen vorzugsweise mittlere Molgewichte (Zahlenmittel) von 50000 bis 2000000 g/mol, bevorzugt 100000 bis 1 000000 g/mol und Glastemperaturen von -1100C bis +200C, bevorzugt -500C bis 00C, sowie Mooney- Viskositäten ML 1+4 (1000C) von 10 bis 200, vorzugsweise 30 bis 150 auf. Als funktionelle Gruppen und/oder deren Salze können die erfindungsgemäßen Kautschuke Gruppen, wie Carboxyl-, Hydroxyl-, Amin-, Carbonsäureester-, Carbonsäureamid- oder Sulfon- säuregruppen tragen. Bevorzugt sind Carboxyl- oder Hydroxyl-Gruppen. Als Salze sind bevorzugt Alkali-, Erdalkali-, Zink- und Ammoniumcarboxylate sowie Alkali-, Erdalkali-, Zink- und Ammoniumsulfonate.
Die erfϊndungsgemäßen Kautschuke werden dabei vorzugsweise durch Polymerisation von Diolefmen und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomeren in Lösung und anschließender Einführung von funktionellen Gruppen hergestellt. Dies ist z.B. möglich über anionische Lösungspolymerisation oder durch Lösungspolymerisation mittels Koordinationskatalysatoren.
Unter Koordinationskatalysatoren sind in diesem Zusammenhang Ziegler-Natta-Katalysatoren oder monometallische Katalysatorsysteme zu verstehen. Bevorzugte Koordinationskatalysatoren sind solche auf Basis Ni, Co, Ti, Nd, V, Cr oder Fe.
Die anionische Lösungspolymerisation ist bevorzugt für die Herstellung von Copolymeren.
Die anionische Lösungspolymerisation zur Herstellung der Kautschuke erfolgt vorzugsweise mittels eines Initiators auf Alkalimetallbasis, z.B. n-Butyllithium, in einem inerten Kohlenwasserstoff als Lösungsmittel.
Zusätzlich können die bekannten Randomizer und Kontrollagentien für die Mikrostruktur des Polymers verwendet werden. Derartige anionische Lösungspolymerisationen sind bekannt und z.B. in I. Franta Elastomers and Rubber Compounding Materials; Elsevier 1989, Seite 73-74, 92-94 und in Houben-Weyl, Methoden der Organische Chemie, Thieme Verlag, Stuttgart, 1987, Band E 20,
Seite 114 - 134 beschrieben.
Als Lösungsmittel werden dabei vorzugsweise inerte aprotische Lösungsmittel, wie z.B. paraffinische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie isomere Pentane, Hexane, Heptane, Octane, Decane, Cyclopentan, Cyclohexan, Methylcyclohexan, Ethylcyclohexan oder 1 ,4-Dimethylcyclohexan, oder aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Benzol, Toluol, Ethylbenzol, Xylol, Diethylbenzol oder
Propylbenzol eingesetzt. Diese Lösungsmittel können einzeln oder in Kombination verwendet werden. Bevorzugt sind Cyclohexan und n-Hexan. Ebenfalls möglich ist die Abmischung mit polaren Lösungsmitteln.
Die Menge an Lösungsmittel beträgt bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren üblicherweise 1000 bis 100 g, bevorzugt 700 bis 200 g, bezogen auf 100 g der gesamten Menge an eingesetztem
Monomer. Es ist aber auch möglich, die eingesetzten Monomere in Abwesenheit von Lösungsmitteln zu polymerisieren. Die Polymerisationstemperatur kann in weiten Bereichen schwanken und liegt im Allgemeinen im Bereich von 00C bis 2000C, bevorzugt bei 400C bis 1300C. Die Reaktionszeit schwankt ebenfalls in breiten Bereichen von einigen Minuten bis zu einigen Stunden. Üblicherweise wird die Polymerisation innerhalb einer Zeitspanne von etwa 30 Minuten bis zu 8 Stunden, bevorzugt 1 bis 4 Stunden, durchgeführt. Sie kann sowohl bei Normaldruck, als auch bei erhöhtem Druck (1 bis
10 bar) durchgeführt werden.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist zudem ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfmdungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen bei dem Diolefme und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatische Monomere in Lösung zu Kautschuk polymerisiert werden, anschließend die funktionellen Gruppen oder deren Salze in den Lösungskautschuk einführt werden, das Lösungsmittel mit heißem Wasser und/oder
Wasserdampf bei Temperaturen von 50 bis 2000C, gegebenenfalls unter Vakuum, entfernt wird und anschließend Ruß und gegebenenfalls Prozessöl zugegeben wird.
In einer weiteren Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens werden die Diolefme und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomere in Lösung zu Kautschuk polymerisiert, anschließend die funktionellen Gruppen oder deren Salze in den Lösungskautschuk einführt und danach der lösungsmittelhaltige Kautschuk mit Prozessöl vermischt, wobei während oder nach dem Mischvorgang das Lösungsmittel mit heißem Wasser und/oder Wasserdampf bei Temperaturen von 50 bis 2000C, gegebenenfalls unter Vakuum, entfernt wird und anschließend Ruß zugegeben wird.
In weiteren Ausführungsformen der Erfindung wird der Ruß mit dem Prozessöl nach Einführung der funktionellen Gruppen zugegeben.
In dem erfmdungsgemäßen Verfahren erfolgt die Polymerisation von Diolefmen und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomeren, wie bereits beschrieben, vorzugsweise in Lösung und anschließender Einführung von funktionellen Gruppen.
Dabei ist die anionische Lösungspolymerisation bevorzugt.
Die funktionellen Gruppen werden dabei nach bekannten Verfahren vorzugsweise in ein- oder mehrstufigen Reaktionen eingeführt durch Addition entsprechender Funktionalisierungsreagenzien an die Doppelbindungen des Kautschuks oder durch Abstraktion allylischer Wasserstoffatome und anschließender Reaktion mit Funktionalisierungsreagenzien.
Die Carboxylgruppen können auf verschiedene Arten in den Kautschuk eingeführt werden. So z.B. dass metallierten Lösungskautschuken Carboxyl-liefernde Verbindungen, wie beispielsweise CO2, zugesetzt werden, oder durch die im Stand der Technik bekannte Übergangsmetall-katalysierte Hydrocarboxylierung oder indem man den Kautschuk mit carboxylgruppenhaltigen Verbindungen, beispielsweise carboxylgruppenhaltigen Mercaptanen, behandelt. - -
Die Bestimmung des Carboxylgruppengehalts kann nach bekannten Methoden, wie z.B. Titration der freien Säure, Spektroskopie oder Elementanalyse erfolgen.
Bevorzugt erfolgt die Einführung der Carboxylgruppen in den Kautschuk nach erfolgter Polymerisation der eingesetzten Monomere in Lösung durch Umsetzung der erhaltenen Polymerisate, gege- benenfalls in Gegenwart von Radikalstartern, mit Carboxylmercaptanen der Formel
HS - R'-COOX bzw. (HS - R^COO)2X
worin
R1 für eine lineare, verzweigte oder cyclische Ci -C35-Alkylen- oder -Alkenylengruppe steht, die gegebenenfalls mit bis zu 3 weiteren Carboxylgruppen substituiert sein kann, oder durch Stickstoff-, Sauerstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen sein kann, oder für eine
Arylgruppe steht, und
X für Wasserstoff oder für ein Metallion, wie z.B. Li, Na, K, Mg, Zn, Ca oder ein, gegebenenfalls mit Ci -C35-Alkyl-, -Alkenyl-, Cycloalkyl- oder Arylgruppen substituiertes Ammoniumion steht.
Bevorzugte Carboxylmercaptane sind Thioglykolsäure, 2-Mercaptopropionsäure (Thiomilchsäure),
3-Mercaptopropionsäure, 4-Mercaptobuttersäure, Mercaptohexansäure, Mercaptooctansäure, Mercaptodecansäure, Mercaptoundecansäure, Mercaptododecansäure, Mercaptooctadecansäure, 2- Mercaptobernsteinsäure sowie deren Alkali- und Erdalkali-, Zink- oder Ammoniumsalze. Besonders bevorzugt werden 2- und 3-Mercaptopropionsäure, Mercaptobuttersäure und 2- Mercaptobernsteinsäure sowie deren Lithium-, Natrium-, Kalium-, Magnesium-, Calcium-, Zinkoder Ammoniumsalze eingesetzt. Ganz besonders bevorzugt wird 3-Mercaptopropionsäure sowie deren Lithium-, Natrium-, Kalium-, Magnesium-, Calcium-, Zink- oder Ammonium-, Ethyl- ammonium-, Diethylammonium-, Triethylammonium-, Stearylammonium- und Cyclohexylammo- niumsalze.
Im allgemeinen führt man die Reaktion der Carboxylmercaptane mit den Lösungskautschuken in einem Lösungsmittel, beispielsweise Kohlenwasserstoffen, wie Pentan, Hexan, Cyclohexan, Benzol und/oder Toluol durch bei Temperaturen von 40 bis 1500C in Gegenwart von Radikalstartern, z.B. Peroxiden, insbesondere Acylperoxiden, wie Dilauroylperxoid und Dibenzoyl- peroxid, und Ketalperoxiden, wie l,l-Bis(tert.-butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexan, ferner Azoinitiatoren, wie Azobisisobutyronitril, Benzpinakolsilylethern oder in Gegenwart von Photo- initiatoren und sichtbarem oder UV-Licht. Die Menge an einzusetzenden Carboxylmercaptanen richtet sich nach dem gewünschten Gehalt an gebundenen Carboxylgruppen oder deren Salzen in dem in die Kautschukmischungen einzusetzenden Lösungskautschuk.
Die Carbonsäuresalze können auch nach der Einführung der Carbonsäuregruppen in den Kautschuk durch deren Neutralisation hergestellt werden.
Die Hydroxylgruppen können z.B. in den Kautschuk eingerührt werden dadurch, dass man den Lösungskautschuk epoxidiert und die Epoxygruppen anschließend ringöffhet, den Lösungskautschuk hydroboriert und anschließend mit alkalischer Wasserstoffperoxidlösung versetzt oder indem man den Kautschuk mit hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Verbindungen, beispielsweise hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Mercaptanen behandelt.
Bevorzugt erfolgt die Einführung der Hydroxylgruppen in den Kautschuk nach erfolgter Polymerisation der eingesetzten Monomere in Lösung durch Umsetzung der erhaltenen Polymerisate, gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart von Radikalstartern, mit Hydroxylmercaptanen der Formel
HS - R2-OH ,
worin
R für eine lineare, verzweigte oder cyclische C1 -C35-Alkylen- oder -Alkenylengruppe steht, die gegebenenfalls mit bis zu 3 weiteren Hydroxylgruppen substituiert sein kann, oder durch Stickstoff-, Sauerstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen sein kann oder Aryl- substituenten aufweisen kann, oder für eine Arylgruppe steht.
Bevorzugte Hydroxylmercaptane sind Thioethanol, 2-Mercaptopropanol, 3-Mercaptopropanol, 4-
Mercaptobutanol, 6-Mercaptohexanol, Mercaptooctanol, Mercaptodecanol, Mercaptododecanol, Mercaptohexadecanol, Mercaptooctadecanol. Besonders bevorzugt werden Mercaptoethanol, 2- und 3-Mercaptopropanol und Mercaptobutanol.
Im allgemeinen führt man die Reaktion der Hydroxylmercaptane mit den Lösungskautschuken in einem Lösungsmittel in derselben Weise wie für die Carboxylmercaptane beschrieben durch.
Carbonsäurester- und Aminogruppen können in entsprechender Weise aus Mercaptocarbon- säureestern und Mercaptoaminen der allgemeinen Formel

eingeführt werden, worin - -

R4 für eine lineare, verzweigte oder cyclische Ci -C3g-Alkyl- oder -Alkenylgruppe steht, die gegebenenfalls durch Stickstoff-, Sauerstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen sein kann, oder eine Phenylgruppe darstellt, die bis zu 5 Alkylsubstituenten oder aromatische Substi- tuenten aufweisen kann,
R5, R6 für Wasserstoff oder für eine lineare, verzweigte oder cyclische C\-C^ß-A\kyl- oder - Alkenylgruppe steht, die gegebenenfalls durch Stickstoff-, Sauerstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen sein kann, oder eine Phenylgruppe darstellt, die bis zu 5 Alkylsubstituenten oder aromatische Substituenten aufweisen kann.
Die so hergestellten funktionalisierten Kautschuke werden dann mit Prozessöl und Ruß und den weiteren Mischungsbestandteilen in geeigneten Mischapparaturen, wie Knetern, Walzen oder Extrudern abgemischt.
Den erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen können neben dem funktionalisierten Kautschuk noch zusätzliche Kautschuke zugemischt werden. Deren Menge liegt üblicherweise im Bereich von 0,5 bis 85, bevorzugt 10 bis 70 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die gesamte Kautschukmenge in der Kautschukmischung. Die Menge an zusätzlich zugegebenen Kautschuken richtet sich wieder nach dem jeweiligen Verwendungszweck der erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen.
Zusätzliche Kautschuke sind beispielsweise Naturkautschuk sowie Synthesekautschuk. Diese werden dann nach der Funktionalisierung beigemischt.
Exemplarisch sind hier literaturbekannte Synthesekautschuke aufgeführt. Sie umfassen u.a.
BR = Polybutadien ABR = Butadien/Acrylsäure-Ci-C/rAlkylester-Copolymere
CR = Polychloropren
IR = Polyisopren
SBR = Styrol-Butadien-Copolymerisate mit Styrolgehalten von 1-60, vorzugsweise 20-50 Gew. % HR = Isobutylen-Isopren-Copolymerisate
NBR = Butadien- Acrylnitril-Copolymere mit Acrylnitrilgehalten von 5-60, vorzugsweise 10-40 Gew. %
HNBR = teilhydrierter oder vollständig hydrierter NBR-Kautschuk EPDM = Ethylen-Propylen-Dien-Terpolymerisate
sowie Mischungen dieser Kautschuke. Für die Herstellung von Kfz-Reifen sind insbesondere Naturkautschuk, Emulsions-SBR sowie Lösungs-SBR mit einer Glastemperatur oberhalb von -500C,
Polybutadienkautschuk mit hohem cis-Gehalt (> 90 %), der mit Katalysatoren auf Basis Ni, Co, Ti oder Nd hergestellt wurde, sowie Polybutadienkautschuk mit einem Vinylgehalt von bis zu 80 % sowie deren Mischungen von Interesse.
Selbstverständlich können die erfmdungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen noch andere Kautschukhilfsmittel enthalten, die beispielsweise der Vernetzung der Kautschukmischungen dienen, oder die die physikalischen Eigenschaften der aus den erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen hergestellten Vulkanisate für deren speziellen Einsatzzweck verbessern.
Als Vernetzeragentien werden insbesondere Schwefel oder Schwefel-liefernde Verbindungen eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus können, wie erwähnt, die erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen weitere Hilfsmittel, wie die bekannten Reaktionsbeschleuniger, Alterungsschutzmittel, Wärmestabilisatoren, Lichtschutzmittel, Ozonschutzmittel, Verarbeitungshilfsmittel, Weichmacher, Tackifier, Treibmittel, Farbstoffe, Pigmente, Wachse, Streckmittel, organische Säuren, Verzögerer, Metalloxide sowie Aktivatoren enthalten.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukhilfsmittel werden in den üblichen, bekannten Mengen eingesetzt, wobei sich die eingesetzte Menge nach dem späteren Verwendungszweck der Kautschukmischungen richtet. Üblich sind beispielsweise Mengen an Kautschukhilfsmitteln im Bereich von 2 bis 70 Gew.- Teilen, bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Kautschuk.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist die Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Kautschukmischungen zur Herstellung von Vulkanisaten, die wiederum für die Herstellung von hochverstärkten Kautschuk-Formkörpern, insbesondere für die Herstellung von Reifen, dienen.
Die nachfolgenden Beispiele dienen der Erläuterung der Erfindung, ohne dabei limitierend zu wirken. Beispiele
Die folgende Tabelle 1 beschreibt die Eigenschaften der für die Kautschukmischungen der Beispiele eingesetzten Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuke. Der Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuk SBR 1 wurde durch anionische Copolymerisation von Butadien und Styrol in Lösung hergestellt und nach der Polymerisation in Lösung durch Reaktion mit 3-Mercaptopropionsäure in Gegenwart von l,l-Di(tert.- butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexan zur Radikalerzeugung funktionalisiert. Bei den in den Beispielen 2 - 7 (SBR 2-7) eingesetzten Kautschuken handelt es sich um Handelsprodukte der Lanxess Deutschland GmbH, mit den nachstehend aufgeführten Bestandteilen.
Die Kautschuke SBR 1 sowie SBR 3-7 wurden vor der Entfernung des Lösungsmittels durch Wasserdampf mit Prozessöl (DAE-Öl (Distillate Aromatic Extract) bzw. TDAE-Öl (Treated Distillate
Aromatic Extract)) versetzt.

SBR 3: Buna® VSL 5025-1 mit einem Vinylgehalt von 50%, einem Styrol-Gehalt von 25% und einem Ölgehalt (DAE)von 37,5phr, SBR 4: Buna® VSL 5025-2 mit einem Vinylgehalt von 50%, einem Styrol-Gehalt von 25% und einem Ölgehalt (TDAE) von 37,5phr, SBR 5: Buna® VSL 5025-2 HM mit einem Vinylgehalt von 50%, einem Styrol-Gehalt von 25% und einem Ölgehalt (TDAE) von 37,5phr, SBR 6: Buna® VSL 5525-1 mit einem Vinylgehalt von 55%, einem Styrol-Gehalt von 25% und einem Ölgehalt (DAE) von 37,5phr, SBR 7: Buna® VSL KA 8975 mit einem Vinylgehalt von 52%, einem Styrol-Gehalt von 28% und einem Ölgehalt (TDAE) von 37,5phr, wobei 1 phr einem g Substanz bezogen auf 100 g Polymer entspricht.
Kautschukmischungen, die die Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuke SBR 1-7 sowie weitere Mischungsbestandteile nach Tabelle 2 enthalten (ohne Schwefel und
O Beschleuniger), wurden in einem 1,5-L Kneter hergestellt. Die Mischungsbestandteile Schwefel und Beschleuniger wurden anschließend auf einer Walze bei 400C zugemischt.

Die Mischungen wurden 20 Minuten bei 1600C vulkanisiert.

Für Reifenanwendungen wird ein niedriger Rollwiderstand benötigt, der dann gegeben ist, wenn im Vulkanisat ein hoher Wert für die Rückprallelastizität bei 600C, ein niedriger tan δ- Wert in der dynamischen Dämpfung bei 600C und ein geringer Heat-build-up gemessen wird. Wie aus Tabelle 3 ersichtlich, zeichnet sich das Vulkanisat des erfindungsgemäßen Beispiels durch die höchste Rückprallelastizität bei 600C, den niedrigsten tan δ- Wert in der dynamischen Dämpfung bei 600C und den geringsten Heat-build-up aus.
Für Reifenanwendungen ist zudem eine hohe Nassrutschfestigkeit notwendig. Diese ist dann gegeben, wenn im Vulkanisat ein hoher tan δ- Wert in der dynamischen Dämpfung bei 00C gemessen wird. Wie aus Tabelle 3 ersichtlich, zeichnet sich das Vulkanisat des erfindungsgemäßen Beispiels durch den höchsten tan δ- Wert in der dynamischen Dämpfung bei 00C aus.
Ebenfalls essentiell für Reifenanwendungen ist eine hohe Abriebfestigkeit. Wie aus Tabelle 3 ersichtlich, zeichnet sich das Vulkanisat des erfindungsgemäßen Beispiels durch den geringsten Abrieb aus.
Die erfindungsgemäße Mischung zeigt zudem die besten Werte in bezug auf die Zugfestigkeit und weist zudem eine geringe bleibende Verformung auf.

Claims

- -Patentansprüche
1. Kautschukmischungen bestehend aus mindestens einem Kautschuk und 10 bis 500 Gewichtsteilen Ruß, bezogen auf 100 Gewichtsteile Kautschuk, wobei der Kautschuk durch Polymerisation von Diolefinen und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatischen Monomeren in Lösung und anschließender Einführung von funktionellen Gruppen hergestellt wurde, dieser Kautschuk 0,02 bis 3 Gewichts-% an gebundenen funktionellen Gruppen oder deren Salzen, einen Gehalt an einpolymerisierten vinylaromatischen Monomeren von 0 bis 60 Gewichts-% sowie einen Gehalt an Diolefinen von 40 bis 100 Gewichts-% besitzt, und wobei der Gehalt an 1 ,2-gebundenen Diolefinen (Vinylgehalt) 0,5 bis 95 Gewichts-%, jeweils bezogen auf den eingesetzten Lösungskautschuk, beträgt.
2. Kautschukmischungen gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die funktionellen Gruppen Carboxyl- oder Hydroxyl-Gruppen sind.
3. Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das vinyl- aromatische Monomer Styrol ist.
4. Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Diolefm 1,3-
Butadien und/oder Isopren ist.
5. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Diolefme und gegebenenfalls vinylaromatische Monomere in Lösung zu Kautschuk polymerisiert werden, anschließend die funktionellen Gruppen oder deren Salze in den Lösungskautschuk einführt werden, das Lösungsmittel mit heißem Wasser und/oder
Wasserdampf bei Temperaturen von 50 bis 2000C, gegebenenfalls unter Vakuum, entfernt wird und anschließend Ruß und gegebenenfalls Prozessöl zugegeben wird.
6. Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet , dass neben dem Ruß weitere Füllstoffe enthalten sind, wobei Ruß der Hauptbestandteil ist und bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge an Füllstoff zu mindestens 50 % enthalten ist.
7. Verwendung der Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1 zur Herstellung von hochverstärkten Kautschuk-Formkörper.
8. Verwendung der Kautschukmischungen nach Anspruch 1 zur Herstellung von Reifen.
