Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a beverage maker with a glass container and a stamp filter movable therein.
  • beverage makers are usually referred to as "French Press” in English-speaking countries.
  • the glass container may burst if handled improperly. This danger exists especially when the stamp filter is pressed down with too much force.
  • the risk of bursting can be additionally increased if in the glass due to production voltages are present.
  • the glass vessel can literally "explode” and burst into a variety of small pieces of glass, which fly around uncontrollably together with the usually hot contents of the vessel. There is a risk of serious injury.
  • the glass vessel at least partially to surround with a serving.
  • such an envelope primarily serves an aesthetic purpose and is normally not intended to protect against splinters of glass. Examples of such enclosures are given in the catalog "bodum® 2007/2008" on pages 18 and 19, for example.
  • the glass container of the "KENYA” product is surrounded by a stainless steel casing, which has large oval recesses.
  • the product "EILEEN” has a stainless steel casing, which has a large number of smaller recesses.
  • these are not sufficiently small to prevent the flying around of small glass splinters as well as the uncontrolled splashing of the hot beverage if the vessel breaks. If, on the other hand, the glass vessel is completely enveloped by a shell, it is no longer possible to observe the coffee in the vessel and to determine, for example, what amount of coffee is present.
  • the beverage maker should also be inexpensive to produce.
  • An inventive beverage maker thus comprises an upwardly open glass vessel with a vessel bottom and a circumferential vessel wall.
  • a known stamp filter is slidably arranged in the vessel.
  • a holder for the glass vessel is available in the vessel.
  • This has as splinter protection on a fine mesh that surrounds at least part of the vessel wall.
  • flying away from even the smallest pieces of glass is effectively prevented.
  • wegspritzende liquid is retained by the network at least so far that they no longer splashes, but runs down the net. In this way, the risk of injury in the event of glass breakage is considerably reduced.
  • the holder of the beverage maker according to the invention can be manufactured very inexpensively, since no perforations have to be punched out or cut out of a starting material, as is the case in the prior art for the larger recesses known there, but because from the outset a mesh material with the corresponding openings is used.
  • a fine-meshed net is understood to mean a net or grid made of wire, plastic or a yarn material whose openings are smaller than approximately 5 mm.
  • the network is made of a stainless steel wire.
  • the net is held on an upper ring which surrounds the vessel wall in an upper region.
  • the network may be held between two rings.
  • the holder then comprises - a circumferential lower ring which surrounds the vessel wall in a lower region; and a circumferential upper ring surrounding the vessel wall in an upper area.
  • the net is connected to the lower ring and the upper ring and surrounds the vessel wall in the area between the lower and upper ring.
  • the holder also preferably has a bottom which is connected to the lower ring and together with the lower ring forms a holder base, which receives the vessel bottom.
  • the lower part forms a retention vessel for leaking liquid, so that at least a first surge of leaking liquid can be collected in a glass breakage.
  • the lower ring is connected continuously to the holder bottom, so that the ring forms the side wall of the retention vessel.
  • the holder widens from top to bottom such that the lower ring has a larger (inner) circumference than the upper one Has ring and spaced from the vessel wall.
  • both rings will have a circular outline.
  • the vessel is normally substantially cylindrical
  • the holder has a substantially frusto-conical shape.
  • the network widens from top to bottom and runs increasingly spaced from the vessel wall. Should the vessel burst, there is sufficient space between the vessel and the net to trap broken glass and leaking liquid and to divert it downwards in the direction of the holder bottom by its oblique course.
  • the net is preferably pulled down so that the stamp filter is covered at its lowermost, fully depressed position laterally (i.e., laterally of the direction in which the filter is pushed down) by the net and / or bottom ring.
  • the holder may have one or more webs connecting the lower ring and the upper ring ,
  • the webs can be straight or curved.
  • the net is usually cut from a flat net material in a form corresponding to the development of the finished net, bent into the final shape and connected to the rings, eg welded. This forms a shock area (a seam), in which two edge areas of the network collide.
  • the edge areas may be located in the joint area on impact or overlap a little. They are usually connected together in this area, eg welded.
  • the joint area is preferably covered.
  • a bridge between the lower and upper ring serve, which covers the joint area.
  • a seamless mesh can be used.
  • the beverage maker will have a handle. This is conveniently attached to the upper ring. It may additionally or instead also be connected to the lower ring.

  • Fig. 3 is a view of a variant of the holder alone
  • Fig. 4 is a view of the parts of the holder; such as
  • Fig. 5 is a view of the unrolled network.
  • FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a beverage maker according to the invention.
  • the beverage maker comprises a punch filter coffee pot 1 shown alone in FIG. nem glass vessel 10, a lid 17 and a displaceable in the glass vessel 10 stamp filter 15 which is connected via a centrally guided in the lid 17 piston rod 14 with a button 16.
  • the glass vessel has a bottom 11 which closes the vessel downwards and a circumferential cylindrical side wall 12, at the upper end of which a beak-like pourer 13 is formed.
  • the vessel is open at the top and widens slightly in its uppermost edge region in order to facilitate the insertion of the stamp filter 15.
  • coffee powder is placed in the vessel 10 and poured with hot water. After some time, the coffee is stirred, whereupon the leached coffee powder begins to sink to the bottom 11. Then, the stamp filter 15 is used, and the vessel is closed with the lid 17. By carefully pressing button 16, the stamp filter is gently pushed down. The stamp filter slides along the cylindrical vessel wall 12 along, takes the coffee grounds with and separates the coffee grounds from the finished drink. The beverage can then be removed through openings in the lid on the spout 13. Similarly, instead of coffee, tea, etc. can be prepared, generally speaking any beverage in which a solid beverage base is extracted in a liquid.

  • the lower ring 26 and the upper ring 22 are connected by a fine mesh 24, which is shown only schematically in FIG. Individual parts of the holder are shown in FIG. 4.
  • the lower ring 26 has a larger inner diameter and thus also a larger inner circumference than the upper ring 22. In other words, the holder widened conically from the top to the bottom and thereby receives a substantially frustoconical shape.
  • the vessel at the lower end rests only on the bottom 25 of the holder 2 without touching the lower ring 26. Nevertheless, in order to keep the vessel safely upright, structures may be present in the floor 25 which laterally fix the vessel in the area near the ground.
  • the lower part 21 acts here as a collecting vessel for the liquid. It need not necessarily be guaranteed that the vessel is completely tight, as long as it prevents only the very first surge of liquid splattered uncontrollably after a glass breakage. In contrast, it is less critical if subsequently the liquid emerges relatively slowly from the lower part 21 or overflows beyond the lower ring, if the capacity of the lower part is insufficient to absorb all the liquid.
  • FIG. 3 shows a variant of the holder 2 alone.
  • an additional vertical web 27 is present, which at the back of the holder 2, in the region of the handle 23, the two rings 22, 26 connected to each other.
  • the bridge has a stabilizing effect, since in this way the net of tensile and compressive forces is relieved. On the other hand, it protects the user's hand in the area of the handle from contact with the net 24.
  • FIG. 5 the network is shown in the unrolled form as settlement.
  • the shape of the net corresponds to the development of a truncated cone in the plane. In this form, the net is cut out of the starting material.
  • curved shape creates a seam on which the side edge portions 28, 29 of the network abut or overlap.
  • the user could be injured by pointed wire ends of the net.
  • the bridge covers the often not very aesthetically pleasing seam also optically satisfactory. However, such a bridge can also be omitted.
  • the net may be made of any suitable material, e.g. a plastic.
  • the network is preferably made of a fine stainless steel wire.
  • Such a network combines several advantages into each other.
  • it is sufficiently stable in itself to accommodate the tensile and shear forces acting on the holder during removal or insertion of the glass vessel. So it is not mandatory additional webs between the upper and lower ring for stabilization required.
  • Stainless steel is also stainless and easy to maintain.
  • the wire thickness is about 0.4 to 0.8 mm, in particular about 0.6 mm.
  • the lower part 21 and the upper ring 22 are preferably made of stainless steel.
  • wires forming the network run obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the vessel, in particular at an angle of 45 degrees
  • another orientation in particular parallel or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, is also possible.

  • a net with other aperture shapes e.g. rhombic, and / or other preparation, e.g. a knitted net, to be used.
  • the openings of the net are small enough to retain even small pieces of glass and to prevent spatters. This is achieved at openings below about 5 mm maximum size.
  • Form are the openings of rhombic shape and about 3.6 mm in size. However, it is also a different mesh size possible, as long as this allows an effective splash guard.
  • the retainer may also be cylindrical in shape, i. a shape in which the upper and lower rings have the same circumference or diameter.
  • the lower part can only be used to a limited extent as a receptacle in the event of glass breakage. Nevertheless, even with such a form of protection against splinters and splashes is given.
  • the base does not necessarily need to have a bottom, but the bottom ring may be e.g. be connected with two crosswise, suitably curved bridges, which are each attached to diametrically opposite sides of the ring and similar to a basket hold the bottom of the glass vessel down.
  • the bridges may be bent in a known manner to stands, as e.g. from the product "CHAMBORD" (catalog bodum® 2007/2008, page 9).
  • the lower ring can be dispensed with entirely, especially in such a design. If the lower part does not form a continuous collecting vessel, a net can also be arranged in the region of the vessel bottom.
