Mit der Erfindung soll eine Schutzeinrichtung für Gasbehälter geschaffen werden, die speziell für Kraftfahrzeuge, einschließlich Motorräder, Mopeds sowie auch für Boote geeignet ist und die speziellen Sicherheitsanforderungen erfüllt. Einerseits soll die Schutzeinrichtung den Gasbehälter bei Unfällen bestmöglich schützen. Es soll somit verhindert werden, daß bei einem Unfall der Gasbehälter zerstört wird und Gas austritt. Andererseits ist nicht mit Sicherheit auszuschließen, daß der Gasbehälter undicht wird, sei es durch Korrosion, falsche Montage oder auch mechanische Gewalteinwirkung, wie z.B. bei einem Unfall. Kurz zusammengefaßt schafft die Erfindung eine Schutzeinrichtung für Gasbehälter, insbesondere für Gasbehälter von Kraftfahrzeugen und Booten mit einem Schutzmantel, der mehrwandig ausgeführt ist und sehr gute Aufprallschutzeigenschaften hat. Der Schutzmantel umgibt den eigentlichen Gasbehälter in einem Abstand, so daß ein Zwischenraum gebildet ist, der mit einem Dämpfungsmaterial gefüllt ist. Das Dämpfungsmaterial ist gasdurchlässig. Es kann aus offenporigem Schaum bestehen oder auch aus einer losen Schüttung von elastischem Material, welches gute stoß- und schlagabsorbierende Eigenschaften hat. Vorzugsweise ist dieses Material nicht brennbar. Claims (10)

Schutzeinrichtung für Gasbehälter, insbesondere für Gasbehälter von Kraftfahrzeugen und Booten, mit einem befüll- und entleerbaren Gasbehälter (1), einem diesen in einem Abstand umgebenden Schutzmantel (5) und einer zwischen dem Gasbehälter (1) und dem Schutzmantel (5) angeordneten gasdurchlässigen Dämpfungsschicht (6), wobei der Schutzmantel (5) mindestens eine in die Dämpfungsschicht (6) hineinragende Öffnung (7) aufweist,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß in die mindestens eine Öffnung (7) eine Hülse (8) mit radialen Löchern (9) eingesetzt ist, die in die Dämpfungsschicht als Entlüftungsschacht hineinragt.
