Einrichtungen der eingangs genannten Art sind als Dreischneider oder Trimmer bekannt und werden für den dreiseitigen Beschnitt der Seitenkanten von gebundenen Druckerzeugnissen, wie Büchern, Zeitschriften, Buchblocks oder ähnlichen flächigen Produkten eingesetzt. Zum Erreichen eines möglichst genauen Schnittes, werden die Druckerzeugnisse zuerst nach deren Rücken und den Seitenkanten ausgerichtet und in diesem Zustand an ihren flächigen Seiten zwischen einem Schneidtisch und einem gegen diesen wirkenden Pressstempel gepresst. Die aufzubringende Presskraft muss mindestens so hoch sein, dass sich während dem Schneidvorgang das Druckerzeugnis infolge der Schnittkräfte weder in sich, noch gegenüber dem Pressstempel verschieben kann. Zudem wird die Verteilung der Presskraft über die Fläche der Druckerzeugnisse so gewählt, dass die spezifische Pressung auf das Druckerzeugnis in den Bereichen der zu beschneidenden Seitenkanten höher ist als in den restlichen Bereichen. Dies kann erreicht werden, indem die Dicke des Pressstempels in dessen Randbereichen grösser gewählt wird als an den übrigen Stellen. In der Praxis hat sich gezeigt, dass bei gewissen Druckerzeugnissen deren Oberfläche in nicht gepresstem Zustand sehr uneben sein kann. Diese Unebenheit kann durch in das Druckerzeugnis eingebundene Druckbogen mit Laufrichtung quer zu der gebundenen Kante des Druckerzeugnisses und dadurch verursachter Wellenbildung, durch Falze an der zu beschneidenden Seitenkante, Lufteinschlüsse zwischen den Seiten oder anderen Gründen entstehen. Dadurch kann die obere Fläche der auf dem Schneidtisch aufliegenden Druckerzeugnisse eine konkave Form annehmen. Beim gleichzeitigen Beschneiden von mehreren aufeinander gestapelten Exemplaren kumuliert sich dieser Fehler an der Oberseite des obersten Exemplars. Bei Beginn des Pressvorgangs erfolgt in diesem Fall der erste Kontakt zwischen Druckerzeugnis und Pressstempel in den Randbereichen, womit die Druckerzeugnisse zwischen Pressstempel und Schneidtisch in dieser Lage fixiert werden resp. sich der dem Pressstempel zugewandte Bereich der Druckerzeugnisse während dem Aufbau der Presskraft gegenüber der Oberfläche des Pressstempels nicht mehr verschieben kann. Die Folge ist, dass beim Fortschreiten des Pressvorgangs sich jeweils eine Welle im Umschlag bildet, die von aussen nach innen läuft, bis sie auf die von der gegenüberliegenden Seite nach innen verlaufende Welle auftrifft. Dadurch wird der Umschlag gestaucht resp. geknittert und in der Folge durch den Pressstempel gepresst. Als Folge ergeben sich an den obersten Seiten von Umschlag und Inhalt bleibende Quetschfalten, die zu einer verminderten Qualität resp. Der Pressstempel 5 weist an seiner Oberseite einen mit einer Führungsstange 7 verbundenen Support 17 auf, wobei die Führungsstange 7 mit einem Kurvenantrieb, einem elektrischen Servoantrieb, einem pneumatischen oder hydraulischen Antrieb in Pressrichtung P antriebsverbunden ist. Die Ausdehnung quer zur Pressrichtung P erfolgt durch die Gestaltung der Schicht 10, die sich als Folge des Kraftaufbaus in Richtung der Pressrichtung P quer zur Pressrichtung P ausdehnt. Dadurch wird eine Streckwirkung an der dem Pressstempel 5 zugewandten Oberfläche des Schneidguts erreicht und somit eine Faltenbildung an der Oberseite des Schneidguts vermieden. Vorzugsweise ist die Oberfläche 9 des Pressstempels 5 wenigstens teilweise unterbrochen ausgebildet. In einer weiteren, bevorzugten Ausführung nach Fig. 4 ist die Oberfläche 9 des Pressstempels 5 an in einem spitzen Winkel α zur Pressrichtung P vorstehenden Stützelementen 11 angeordnet. Die dem Schneidgut zugewandten Enden 12 der Stützelemente 11 sind in wenigstens einer der Ausdehnungsrichtungen 13,14 der Oberfläche 9 des Pressstempels 5 auslenkbar ausgebildet. Obwohl die erfindungsgemässe Einrichtung primär für das Strecken in Ausdehnungsrichtung 14 längs der den gebundenen Rücken des Schneidguts gegenüberliegenden Seitenkanten 3 vorgesehen ist, lässt sich diese ebenso einsetzen für das Strecken in Ausdehnungsrichtung 13, quer zu den gebundenen Rücken des Schneidguts. In den Fig. 5 und Fig. 6 sind die Stützelemente 11 derart ausgebildet, dass sie durch Belastung in Pressrichtung P nach den Ecken 15 des Schneidgutes resp. diagonal zu den Seitenkanten 3 des Schneidguts wirken. In den Fig. 4 bis Fig. 7 sind die Stützelemente 11 leistenartig ausgebildet. Für die Erfindung ist es nicht wesentlich, ob die Stützelemente 11 als von Randbereich zu Randbereich des Pressstempels 5 durchgehende Leisten oder durch mehrere kurze, hintereinander angeordnete Leisten ausgebildet sind. In einer weiteren Ausführung, gemäss Fig. 6, sind die leistenartigen Stützelemente 11 gekrümmt ausgebildet. Auf diese Weise ist die Federrate der Schicht 10 beeinflussbar, bzw. an die Eigenschaften des Schneidgutes anpassbar. In den Fig. 4 bis Fig.7 sind die Räume zwischen den Stützelementen 11 als freie Räume dargestellt. Ebenso könnten diese Räume mit einem elastischen Material gefüllt sein, resp. die Stützelemente 11 in ein elastisches Material eingebettet sein, um beispielsweise die Federrate der Schicht 10 an die Eigenschaften des Schneidguts anzupassen. In einer weiteren Ausführung, gemäss Fig. 7, ist die Oberfläche 9 des Pressstempels 5 durch eine zumindest bereichsweise elastisch verformbare Platte 16 ausgebildet. Die Erfindung beschränkt sich nicht auf Schneideinrichtungen 1, die den Beschnitt aller drei Seitenkanten 3 in derselben Position ausführen, sondern betrifft ebenso Schneideinrichtungen (1), die den Beschnitt nur einer oder zwei Seitenkanten 3 in derselben Schneidposition ausführen. Ebenfalls betrifft die Erfindung Schneideinrichtungen (1), deren Schneidmesser 6 gegen Schneidleisten 8 oder ein Gegenmesser arbeiten. In the FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 the support members 11 are formed such that they resp. load in the pressing direction P after the corners 15 of the material to be cut. act diagonally to the side edges 3 of the cutting material. In the Fig. 4 to Fig. 7 the support elements 11 are formed like a strip. For the invention, it is not essential whether the support elements 11 are formed as continuous strips from edge region to edge region of the press ram 5 or by a plurality of short strips arranged one behind the other. In a further embodiment, according to Fig. 6 , the strip-like support elements 11 are curved. In this way, the spring rate of the layer 10 can be influenced or adapted to the properties of the material to be cut. In the Fig. 4 to Fig.7 the spaces between the support elements 11 are shown as free spaces.
