  • the closure part according to the present application may be formed as a one-piece element or may comprise a frame which is provided with a transparent or opaque filling and may have sprout-like intermediate struts. Both single-leaf and double-leaf doors are to be understood by the term of the building closure in the sense of this application.
  • Building closures of the aforementioned type are characterized in that the locking of the closure part is released in a locking position by simple operation of the panic unlocking element located on the inside, so that the opening in the building part is released for the passage of persons.
  • the panic unlocking element located on the inside, so that the opening in the building part is released for the passage of persons.
  • it is for in the building Accordingly, it is not necessary for persons presently to release the closure of the closure by means of a key, code or the like, possibly in a time-consuming manner, before they can leave the building.

  • the end of the panic unlocking element is covered such that a manipulation of the same by means that can be performed over the slot between the two doors into the interior, is prevented, the operation of the panic unlocking element from the interior, however, is perfectly possible.
  • a disadvantage here is to judge that the protection of the panic unlocking element takes place only in the region of its ends.
  • the US 3,383,130 deals with this as well as the aforementioned US 3,788,688 with safety devices for double doors with panic unlocking elements in the form of U-shaped brackets. Since the gap between the two doors of the double door can provide access for unauthorized persons, for example, by guiding a wire into the gap and thus operate the bracket, sees a safety device according to the US 3,383,130 a flat cover of thin material for the gap in the area of the bracket before, which is always mounted when the building is not accessible, for example, at night. However, should a person be in the closed building, the double door can be operated even with the safety device installed, but the cover is destroyed.
