Definitions
- Life jackets should bring the wearer in the water in a stable supine position, in which the respiratory openings of the wearer are clearly lifted out of the water. While this can usually be achieved very easily in normal clothing, waterproof weatherproof clothing hampers rotation into the supine position due to the air inclusions it contains.
- the object of the invention is to improve the known lifejackets to the effect that an even better rotational effect is achieved with a compact seat and a particularly compact design.
- the geometry of the float is namely designed so that behave different parts of the float relative to the overall shape during inflation and in this way an additional height can be achieved in this area.
- the desired shape of the float is dependent on the size and position of the insert.
- the geometry of the float can be influenced by one or more webs mounted inside the float, by which a connection between the inside of the float and the folded insert is made, and with which the shape of the inserted part can be limited in their extent
- the new design of the swimming or life jacket thus provides a very good turning effect with a comfortable fit and very compact pack.
- FIG. 1 shows a view of a swimming or life jacket with a base body 1, which has substantially the shape of an inverted U with two legs 2 and 3, which are connected to each other via a neck region 4, while leaving a neck opening 5.
- the two legs 2 and 3 lie on the sternum or sternum of a wearer, not shown.
- the main body 1 is formed from two congruent layers of textile material, which are coated on one side with an air-impermeable layer, for example polyurethane (PU).
- PU polyurethane
- the two layers are placed with their PU-coated sides on each other and welded or glued together along the edge 6. Through an opening 7, air can be injected to form a float.
- a gusset or insert 8 is now inserted between the two layers of the main body 1 in the region of the free, mutually facing ends of the legs 2 and 3, which extends to the edge 6 and ends at a fold line 9.
- Each of the two gussets or inserts 8 is also formed from a one-sided with air-impermeable coating, beispsiellust PU, provided textile material and introduced so that in finished life jacket the textile side to the outside, the PU coating, however, is directed inwards.
- FIG. 2 shows the insert 8 with the fold line 9.
- the insert between the two layers of the base body 1 can be introduced be that each PU layers are facing each other and thus welding along the edge 6 can be done.
- a web 10 between the two layers of coated textile fabric is further introduced, which is welded at one end in the region of the fold line 9 with the insert 8 and at the opposite other end to the edge 6 of the base body 1.
- the provision of the web 10 is only an optional measure; It is therefore not absolutely necessary in any case and can be omitted if necessary.
- FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment of the invention, in each of which a gusset or insert 8 in each of the two legs 2 and 3 is inserted so that its fold line 9 is not oblique over the two legs 2 and 3, as in the first embodiment according to FIG. 1 the case is, but at right angles to a symmetry axis S.
- the edge 6 are the two Zwikkel or inserts 8 welded to the upper and lower layers 11 and 12 of the base body 1.
- a release film 13 is inserted between the upper layer 11 and the lower layer 12, which is also welded in the region of the edge 6 with the base body 1 and fixed in the region of the fold line 9 with the inserts 8 along a seam 14, so that the release film 13 together with the inserts 8 in the base body 1 form an upper air chamber 15 and a lower air chamber 16, which are separately inflatable.
- first valve which is arranged on the upper side of the right leg 3 and is connected to the opening 7 located there.
- a second, also not shown valve which is provided on the underside of the base body 1 in the region of the left leg 2 and connected to the opening 7 indicated by dashed lines.
- FIG. 4 shows a section along the line AA of FIG. 3 and illustrates the conditions just described, in particular the formation of the two chambers 15 and 16 in the base body 1 and their separation by the gusset or inserts. 8
Abstract
Description
Life jackets should bring the wearer in the water in a stable supine position, in which the respiratory openings of the wearer are clearly lifted out of the water. While this can usually be achieved very easily in normal clothing, waterproof weatherproof clothing hampers rotation into the supine position due to the air inclusions it contains.
This behavior is well known and is also mentioned in the current standard EN ISO 12402: The stated buoyancy and its distribution should ensure that the wearer is supported so that his mouth and nose protrude from the water and that he has a suitable stable floating position with leaning back hull occupies. Certain circumstances may change the behavior, e.g. Waves or wearing clothing that intentionally or unintentionally causes additional buoyancy, or when wearing cold weather suits.
So far, various approaches have been followed to improve the rotational behavior, e.g. through the use of a large-volume, possibly also asymmetrical floating body or the combination of at least two floating bodies on each other.
In order to change the height of a float's geometry, additional welded rings have been used in the neck in the past.
The object of the invention is to improve the known lifejackets to the effect that an even better rotational effect is achieved with a compact seat and a particularly compact design.
To solve this problem is a life jacket with the features of
This allows a float to be designed so that its volume is concentrated in the region of the sternum with the greatest possible distance to the body axis.
By inserting an insert into each leg of the life jacket, the geometry of the float is namely designed so that behave different parts of the float relative to the overall shape during inflation and in this way an additional height can be achieved in this area. The desired shape of the float is dependent on the size and position of the insert.
Des weiteren kann die Geometrie des Schwimmkörpers durch einen oder mehrere im Inneren des Schwimmkörpers angebrachten Stege beeinflußt werden, durch die eine Verbindung zwischen der Innenseite des Schwimmkörpers und dem gefalteten Einsatz hergestellt wird, und mit dem die Form des eingesetzten Teils in ihrer Ausdehnung begrenzt werden kannFurthermore, the geometry of the float can be influenced by one or more webs mounted inside the float, by which a connection between the inside of the float and the folded insert is made, and with which the shape of the inserted part can be limited in their extent
The new design of the swimming or life jacket thus provides a very good turning effect with a comfortable fit and very compact pack.

The
According to the invention, a gusset or
