Definitions
- the invention relates to a container closure device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Containers are ubiquitous in everyday human life. In many cases there is a need to provide the respective container with a closure which allows easy opening as well as resealing of the container. Accordingly, there are a variety of container closure devices such as screw caps. Which container closure device is used in individual cases, depends on the nature and intended use of the respective container. Stationary containers are often provided with closure devices other than portable containers.
- Liquids are often filled into cans for the purpose of easy and comfortable transportability without risk of breakage. This applies in particular to drinks and the beverage cans containing them. Under normal transport conditions, such beverage cans offer the possibility of transporting the beverage present in them without leakage.
- FIGS. 1a, 1b and 5b A container closure device suitable for beverage cans according to the prior art is shown schematically in FIGS. 1a, 1b and 5b.
- a container closure device according to the prior art on an opening bracket 3, which is attached to the container wall 1, often the can lid, in particular by means of a rivet 6.
- the opening bracket 3 extends partially over an opening tab 5 away , which is incorporated in the container wall 1.
- the FIGS. 1a and Figure 5b shows such a container closure device according to the prior art in the closed state.
- the opening tab 5 is constantly an opening in the container wall 1 free. Reclosing the container or the container wall 1 is not possible with such a known container closure device. If the container is not emptied in one go, so that residual liquid remains in the container for later use, this has the consequence that contaminants can penetrate into the container. The same applies to insects, which represent a health hazard especially in beverage cans. In addition, there is a risk that liquid is spilled on further transport of the container. Moreover, in carbonated drinks, the carbonic acid is lost faster than in a sealed container. Furthermore, after supposedly complete emptying of the container are usually drinks residues remained in the container, which may undesirably attract insects.
- US Pat. No. 6286 703 B1 Therefore proposes a resealable closure device, wherein the opening bow is connected to the locking tab and a fixing device as a
- Detent device in which the closure tab can be latched.
- the present invention has the object to provide an improved resealable container closure device available, which is particularly suitable for beverage cans.
- the basic idea of the invention is to return the indented opening tab to its original position and to fix it there.
- FIG. 2 schematically shows a first embodiment of a container closure device according to the invention.
- an opening tab 5 is inserted into the container wall 1, which in the advantageous embodiment variant of FIG. 2 is provided with a sealing ring for sealing the opening tab against the container wall.
- the opening tab 5 is connected by means of a rivet connection 17 with the opening bow 3.
- a rivet connection 17 with the opening bow 3.
- other connections may also be provided, for example spot welds.
- the opening bow 3 is in turn connected to the container wall by means of a further riveted connection or another known connection, for example a spot weld.
- a detent 9 is provided under a latch in the context of the present invention is any device to understand, which is able to fix the opening bow by snapping, pinching, clicking or the like.
- FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of a container closure device according to the invention, which that of the FIG. 2 corresponds to the fact that the sealing ring 11 of the embodiment of FIG. 2 is replaced by a surface seal 13.
- FIG. 4a corresponds essentially also to the design variants of FIGS. 2 and 3 , Instead of a sealing ring 11 or a surface seal 13, however, a flexible membrane 15 is provided here. Due to the functional similarity of the embodiments of the FIGS. 2 to 4 their operation will be described in the following together in the FIGS. 4a and 4b illustrated embodiment explained in more detail:
- FIG. 4a shows the container closure device according to the invention in the closed state.
- the opening tab 5 rests against the container wall 1 and is additionally opposite this by the flexible membrane 15 in the case of FIGS. 2 and 3 sealed by the sealing ring 11 and the surface seal 13).
- the opening bow 3 is fixed in this closed state by means of the latching lug. This is done by the opening bracket is pressed over the surmountable resistance, which provides a detent, away in the direction of the container wall. As a result, the locking lug is slightly bent for a short time before it engages and fixes the opening bow.
- FIG. 4b shows the container closure device FIG. 4a in open condition.
- the opening bow 3 was raised by lifting and overcoming the resistance applied by the detent 9, so that the opening tab was pressed together with the attached thereto by means of the rivet 17 flexible membrane 15.
- the opening bracket 3 only needs to be pressed again against the container wall 1 as described above, wherein the latching lug 9 applied resistance is overcome again. Thereafter, the opening bracket 3 is fixed again and the container is closed.
- a latching lug as in the present invention may consist in particular of metal, plastic or other materials having a minimum flexibility. It can be attached to the container wall 1, for example, by riveting, pressing, gluing or welding. In addition, it is possible to press a locking lug in the production of the container in this wall.
- FIGS. 2, 3 . 4a and 4b and 5a can basically be dispensed with the provision of a sealing ring 11, a surface seal 13 or a membrane for sealing the opening tab 5.
- this can result in an at least partially reduced tightness of the container closure device.
- FIG. 6a and 6b illustrate a further embodiment of a container closure device according to the invention, in case of FIG. 6a for a small opening tab 5, in the case of FIG. 6b for a larger opening tab 5.
- Both figures show the top view of a can lid 1, which is a container wall 1.
- On this container wall 1 in each case an opening bow 23a, 23b is fastened by means of a rivet connection 27.
- the opening bow 23a, 23b engages behind a first web 24, which is fastened on the opening tab 5.
- People who Figures 6a and 6b shows two positions of the opening bow, namely 23a and 23b. From one to the other position of the opening bow is in each case by turning, as indicated by the arrow 29, transferred.
- the opening bow 23a, 23b engages behind the first web 24.
- the opening tab 5 can be pressed in for the first time or repeatedly, thereby opening the container or the can.
- the first web 24 is designed such that it is at least partially engaged behind even with depressed opening tab 5 of the opening bracket 23 a, 23 b. For this reason, the first web 24 is preferably shaped such that it extends to the rivet 27 when the opening tab 5 is closed.
- the opening bow 23a, 23b thus engages behind the first web 24 steadily, by depressing the opening bow 23a, the pressed-in opening tab 5, both in the case of FIG. 6a as in the case of FIG. 6b used for container 1 and the container or beverage can be closed in this way.
- To fix the opening tab of the opening bracket 23a is transferred according to the rotation 29 in the position 23b, in which it prevents depression of the opening tab 5 by being supported against the container wall 1.
- the opening bow 23b is in turn transferred to the position 23a. In this way, the container is repeatedly resealable.
- the invention can turn, in analogy to the FIGS.
- a seal such as a sealing ring, a surface seal or a sealing membrane may be provided on the opening tab.
- a further preferred embodiment variant provides that the first web 24 on its side which can be brought into contact with the opening bow 23a, 23b, ie that side on which the opening bow rests at least temporarily, is designed to be tapered in the direction of the opening bow. This has the consequence that the opening tab 5 and an optionally associated with this seal is stronger pressed against the container wall 1, the more the opening bow 23a corresponding to the rotational movement 29 in the direction of the opening bow position 23b is effected. The further the opening bow is rotated out of its position 23a, the more the opening tab is pressed against the container wall 1 and the better the beverage can or the container is sealed.
- FIGS. 7a and 7b illustrate another embodiment of a device according to the invention, in one case for a smaller opening tab, in the other case for a larger opening tab 5.
- a second web 30 is provided, which is also behind by the opening bracket 23a, 23b.
- the container closure device can be opened by the opening tab 5 is pressed by lifting the opening bracket 23a.
- the opening bracket 23a, 23b in turn engages behind the first web 24 continuously.
- the opening tab 5 can be retrieved from an indented state and against the container wall 1 drawable. If the opening tab 5 has been brought back to the container wall 1, then the opening bow 23a, 23b can be transferred by turning into the position 23b, in which both in the Figure 7a as well as in the FIG. 7b the opening tab is fixed. This fixation is achieved by engaging behind the second web 30 through the opening bow 23b.
- the second web 30 is preferably made to taper on its side which can be brought into contact with the opening bow in the direction of the opening bow 23a, 23b, so that the above-described variation of the pressing force is possible, by means of which the opening tab 5 is pulled against the container wall 1 ,
- a seal may also be provided here.
- a flexible membrane may be connected as a seal with the opening tab 5.
- FIG. 8 a side view of the container closure device Figure 7a in unlocked condition.
- the first web is engaged behind by the opening bow 23a, which, however, as shown in FIG. 8a which gives a front view of the container closure device Figure 7a in the same state, the second web 30 does not engage behind. In this position, the container closure device can be opened.
- FIGS. 10 and 10a This is illustrated by the FIGS. 10 and 10a in a side or front sectional view.
- the opening bow 23a has been raised and thereby the Opening tab 5 is pressed.
- the opening bow 23a continues to engage behind the first web 24.
- the container closure device FIG. 7b with the wider opening tab, which in the open state in a side and a rear side sectional view in the Figures 9 or 9a is shown.
- the opening bracket 23a continues to engage behind the first web 24.
- the respective opening tab can thus again be brought to the container wall 1 and the container can be closed in this way.
- FIGS. 11 and 11a is shown schematically in a side or front sectional view.
- the opening bow 23b engages behind (see position of the opening bow in FIG Figure 7a ) Both the first web 24 as well as the second web 30, the latter from FIG. 11a is apparent.
- the opening bow and consequently also the opening tab 5 connected thereto are fixed. This fixation is solvable because the opening bow 23b can be converted from this position in turn in the opening bow position 23a, which in the FIGS. 8 and 8a is playing.
- FIG. 12 illustrates the case of a smaller opening tab
- Figure 12a the case of a larger opening tab.
- an opening bracket 33 a, 33 b is provided, which is provided with a recess 35.
- This recess 35 is designed such that the opening bow in a first position 33 a, the first web 24 engages behind, in the second position 33 b, which in the Figures 12 and 12a dashed lines is shown, but not.
- By turning the opening bracket 33a, 33b this can be transferred from one to the other position. This makes it possible to loosen the rear grip of the opening bow 33a, 33b behind the first web with the opening tab 5 pressed in, by transferring the opening bow into the position 33b and then being pressed down onto the container wall.
- Figures 12 or 12a may, like all other embodiments of the container closure device according to the invention, advantageously be equipped with a seal on the opening tab 5, in particular with a sealing ring, a surface seal or a particularly preferred flexible membrane. This has already been mentioned above in connection with the FIGS. 2 to 5 discussed.
- the first web 24 is connected by rivets to the opening tab 5.
- a membrane 15 is attached to the opening tab 5 by means of the same rivet connection.
- An enlarged partial view of such a rivet connection shows FIG. 15 before carrying out the riveting process.
- the first web 24 is provided at its the opening tab 5 passing through end with a hollow rivet body 40, which is surrounded by the membrane 15 at least partially.
- a fixing holder 42 is also provided which, together with the hollow rivet body 40, encloses the membrane 15 in sections.
- the first web is circumferentially surrounded by a sealing compound 37 at its region passing through the opening tab 5.
- FIG. 17 illustrates a further possibility for the formation of the first web 44.
- the starting point here forms a rivet pin 43, which passes through the opening tab 5 and in an analogous manner as the first web 24 in FIG. 15 is provided with a membrane 15 and sealant 37. This is in an analogous manner as the first web 24 in the FIGS. 15 and 16 connected to the membrane 15 and the opening tab 5.
- the rivet pin is deformed to the extent that it is deformed to form the first web 44, that is, is bent onto the opening tab 5, as indicated by the arrow 46.
- the rivet pin 43 may have a continuous cylindrical shape. In the in FIG. 17 illustrated preferred embodiment variant, the rivet pin 43 but a reinforced Niethals, which simplifies the riveting and the subsequent deformation of the rivet pin 43.
