Claims (10)

  1. A toilet seat with a hinged lid (2) that can be or is linked to a seat ring (1), the hinged lid (2) having an upper shell (3) made of leaves of veneer optionally shaped over two axes, characterized in that the hinged lid (2) has a lower frame (4) made of sheets of veneer optionally curved over one axis.
  2. A toilet seat according to Claim 1, characterized in that the upper shell (3) is provided with an inner lid (5) made of a synthetic material, for example a duroplastic material.
  3. A toilet seat according to Claim 2, characterized in that the inner lid (5) is inserted into a slot (6) running round on the inside of the U-shaped frame (4) and if necessary is fixed into said slot using adhesive for example.
  4. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the inside of the frame (4) is covered with a plastic laminate material (KS).
  5. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the frame (4) is fixed together with the upper shell (3) by, for example, gluing the frame in a rebate (7) that extends around the outer edge of said upper shell (3).
  6. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the upper shell (3) and/or the frame (4) are/is formed from a glued, press formed and cured bundle of veneers.
  7. A toilet seat according to Claim 6, characterized in that the intermediate layers of the bundle of wood veneers (MF) are made of beech for example, and the outer layer is formed of a wood veneer (SF) of the desired type of wood, for example oak.
  8. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the frame (4) of the closed hinged lid (2) laterally surrounds the seat ring (1) or the upper edge of the toilet bowl.
  9. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the seat ring (1) is made of a synthetic material, for example a duroplastic material.
  10. A toilet seat according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that on the underside of the rear edge of the inner lid (5), cartridges or sockets (8) are provided for receiving fittings for attaching and/or linking it to the seat ring (1) and/or toilet bowl, for example hinges, buffers, quick-assembly elements etc.
