The particularobjects of my' invention are to 'provide a" simple inexpensive case wherein bulk oysters can be kept in a sanitary condition and wherein refrigeration of the contents .can be .readily carried out; to arrange on the display case, avglass' cover through which the oysters may be readily' inspected; and to provide a case which may be easily and. quickly taken apart and' cleaned. I
'10 the above purposes my invention consists in certain novel `features of construct-ion and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the construction'of the shown, l designates a box-like structure preferably vformed ofvwood 'panels which are sheathed or covered .with -sheetl metal.

When the arm 15 is in its normal position with the lug 1S in the notch 14, the transparentcover I9 fits snugly upon the packing or gasket 9, due to the pressure of the spring 16 on the rod 15aL and thus an air and dust proof joint is formed between the cover and packing rinU.`
The contents of the. receptacle 10 can be readily inspected through the transparent cover 19, and when itis desired to remove a portion of said contents, the .cover 19 is manually engaged and swung to either. side. In thus moving said cover the armI 15 swings upon ,the bearing 13 and the lug 18 rides out ofthe notch 14 onto the flat to"p\ surface of saidbearing 13. When the cover is again swung into position to close the .receptacle 1U the lug 1S will-drop into the notch- 14 by .reason of the expansive action oi. the spring 16, and thus'the cover 19 will be tightly held upon the packing ring or gasket 9. Refrigeration for the contents of the case is obtained by packing broken ice in the space outside the perforated wall 4, and thus the contents of the receptacle 10 are kept cool and in a fresh condition.

When it is desired to take the case apart for the purpose of cleaning the same, the over 19 is swung around to the rear of the bon' or receptacle 1, after which the hooks 7 are disengaged to permit the sheet metal The receptacle l() is now lifted from its position Within the perforated wall et, after which said wall is partially rotated to bring the lugs 5 into position whore they can be drawn through'the notches 3 as said perforated wall is lifted from the box or receptacle.
A display case of my improved construction is very compact, is easily supplied with ice for the purpose of refrigeration, can be easily taken apart and cleaned and maintains the oysters or like commodity in a lieat, clean and sanitary condition.
I claim:
l. In a display case of the class described,
i a receptacle, a pair of arcuate framesoppositely arrarged within the receptacle, there being notches formed in the inner faces of said frames, a` perforated wall adapted to be removably positioned in the receptacle between the frames, the lower end of which perforated wall is open, and normally rests on the bottom of the receptacle, projections on opposite sides ofsaid. wall, which projections pass through the notches in the frames when the perforated wall is positioned in the receptacle, and engage beneath the frames when the wall is partially rotated in either direction, and a cover detachably arranged on the receptacle, and which cover is provided with an opening coinciding with the space Within theperfo- .rated Wall.

In a display case of the class described, an outer receptacle, an inner receptacle, a transparent cover, adaptodto close the upper end of said inner receptacle, an arm the forward end of which is forked and fixed to lsaid transparent cover, at bearing fixed on the rear side of the outer receptacle, a. rod carried by the arm and journaled in said bearing, an expansive spring on the rod beneath the bearing, there being a notch formed in the top of the bearing, and a lug on the under side of the arn` 1,which occupies the notch when the transparent cover is in position to close the receptacle.
In a display case of the class described, an outer receptacle, an inner receptacle, a cover adapted to close the opening between said receptacles, a depending Iiange on tho outer edge of said cover, hooks on the outer receptacle for engaging the depending Iiangc of the cover, there being an opening in the cover. which coincides with the opening in the inner receptacle, a flange' depending from the opening in the cover which Harige extends into the open upper end of the inner receptacle, a packing ringon said iange,` a vertically moving, laterally swinging arm arranged on the outer receptacle, and a transparent cover ,.'carried bythe forward end of, said arm for closing the upper end of theA inner receptacle, the edge of which transparent cover is adapted to rest on the packing ring.
