A device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the support arm (14) is pivotable about an axis (15) extending in the longitudinal direction of the rails and has a stop (19) which, after application to the sleeper (4), is designed for releasing a relative displacement in the longitudinal direction of the rails between the tool frame (6) and the changing device (12).
  4. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the transport plate (17) is connected at a first end (21), with regard to the longitudinal direction of the rails, to the lower end (16) - spaced from the pivot axis (15) - of the support arm (14) and, at a second end (22), has a stripping device (23) for engaging the old intermediate layer (2).
  5. A device according to claim 4, characterized in that the stripping device (23) is formed by claws (25) vertically adjustable relative to a transport plane (24) of the transport plate (17).
  6. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the support arm (14) of the changing device (12) is designed to be telescopically elongatable by a drive (20) for changing a distance between the transport plate (17) and the pivot axis (15).
  7. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the holding device (27) is formed by a number of suction openings (28).
  8. A method for renewing intermediate layers (2) positioned between a rail (3) and a sleeper (4) of a track (5), characterized by the following method steps:
    a) a new intermediate layer (2) is held fast at an underside of a transport plate (17), and an upper side (35) of the latter - facing away from the intermediate layer (2) - is pressed to the rail base (33) of the lifted rail (3),
    b) in connection with the inserting motion of the transport plate (17), together with the new intermediate layer (2), between the sleeper (4) and the rail base (33) in the longitudinal direction of the rails, the old intermediate layer (2) is removed by means of a second end (22) - with regard to the insertion direction - of the transport plate (17).
