Durch Vorsehen von Kanälen kann daher in insgesamt sehr guter Weise dafür Sorge getragen werden, dass Feuchtigkeit und Hitze, die von einem Menschen produziert wurde, abgeführt wird, ohne Erkrankungen befürchten zu müssen. Wird Energie für die Durchleitung von Luft aufgewendet, beispielsweise für den Antrieb eines Ventilators, so kann so der Energiebedarf minimiert werden.
Da vor allem der Oberkörper eines Menschen typische Schweißzonen umfasst, ist das Bekleidungsstück vorzugsweise ein Oberbekleidungsstück, so zum Beispiel ein T-Shirt oder eine Jacke. Der Verlauf von Kanälen wird insbesondere so gewählt, dass die oben genannten typischen Schweißzonen belüftet werden.
