Abstract

Des produits imprimés, selon l’invention, sont traités au choix dans un étage préliminaire (1) et dans un étage suivant (2). Les produits imprimés sont acheminés dans un flux de produits imprimés. Pour le traitement au choix dans l’étage préliminaire (1), les produits imprimés sont dirigés au moyen d’un dispositif d’aiguillage (5) sur différents itinéraires de transport (6.1, 6.2, 6.3) au choix dans lesquels se trouvent des dispositifs de traitement (10, 11, 12). Les produits imprimés sont traités dans les dispositifs de traitement, puis leur transport se poursuit. Dans une zone intermédiaire dans laquelle les itinéraires de transport (6.1, 6.2, 6.3) de l’étage préliminaire (1) s’étendent en parallèle et de manière adjacente les uns aux autres, les différents itinéraires de transport (7.1, 7.2) de l’étage suivant (2) peuvent être raccordés au choix aux itinéraires de transport (6.1, 6.2, 6.3) de l’étage préliminaire (1). Des dispositifs de traitement (13, 14) pour le traitement au choix des produits imprimés sont disposés dans les différents itinéraires de transport de l’étage suivant (2). Le dispositif permet un traitement au choix en deux étages qui sont totalement indépendants l’un de l’autre. Dans le dispositif décrit, l’effet de limitation des performances de l’étape de traitement qui prend le plus de temps reste très limité.
