Description

ANSCHLUSSBOLZEN, ANSCHLUSSELEMENT UND ELEKTRISCH LEITENDE KUPPLUNGSVORRICHTUNG CONNECTING PIN, CONNECTING ELEMENT AND ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE COUPLING DEVICE
The invention relates to a connecting bolt, in particular welding stud, with a shank and a foot, which is arranged at one end of the shank and intended for fastening of the bolt to a component. The invention further relates to a connection element and an electrically conductive coupling device comprising a connection bolt and a connection element.
In motor vehicles so-called ground connections are required in numerous places, which connect the electrical equipment arranged in the vehicle with the vehicle ground. The ground connections generally have a connection bolt, which is electrically conductively connected to the vehicle body by welding or other joining methods. Connecting bolts of the specified type are known from DE 36 13 397 C2 and DE 94 13 406 U1. The known terminal bolts have a threaded shank and a shoulder-shaped shoulder formed by a foot which forms a contact surface. In order to achieve that, for example, in a possible painting process in which the component provided with the connecting bolt, for example the vehicle body, is coated with a lacquer layer, the paint can not reach the threaded region of the welding bolt and the contact surface, the known connecting bolts are available the assembly with a protective cap or a cap nut, which surrounds the shaft and fits tightly against the shoulder. Before the subsequent assembly of a contact element cap or cap nut must first be removed, which is cumbersome and requires additional installation work. If the cap nut is then used to fasten the contact element, then screwing and tightening the cap nut is time-consuming. The invention has for its object to provide a terminal bolt of the type specified and a cooperating with him connection element and a coupling device formed therefrom, which allow a simple and quick installation.
The object is achieved with regard to the connecting bolt by the features of claim 1, with respect to the connecting element by the features of claim 8 and with respect to the coupling device by the features of claim 12.
According to the invention it is provided that the connecting bolt has a shaft with an outer surface which forms a contact surface for the attachment of a connection element, wherein the outer surface of the shaft is surrounded by a protective sleeve which covers the contact surface and which can be moved to a position on the shaft is, in which the contact surface is freely accessible.
The inventive design of the connecting bolt has the advantage that the removal of a protective cap or a cap nut is unnecessary. Instead, the protective sleeve can be moved relative to the shaft during the assembly of a connection element in such a way that the contact element can be brought into contact with the contact surfaces. The arrangement of the contact surfaces on the shaft further has the advantage that the connection element can be mounted by plugging onto the shaft and that time-consuming screwing operations are eliminated. Here, the shank of the connecting bolt may have a smooth outer surface, but it may also be provided with a thread, so that the same bolt is also suitable for other fastening tasks.
The protective sleeve according to the invention can be made variable in length, preferably it has the shape of a bellows. It is sufficient to expose the contact surfaces when the protective sleeve in the axial direction is compressed, it being advantageous that the remaining small axial length of the protective sleeve requires only little space on the shaft of the connecting bolt. The connecting bolt can therefore be made correspondingly short.
In order to protect the covered by the protective sleeve contact surfaces effectively against the ingress of paint and varnish, according to the invention at the ends of the protective sleeve on the shaft fitting sealing lips are provided.
At the foot of the connecting bolt according to a further proposal of the invention may be formed a flange which has a larger diameter than the foot and which is arranged at an axial distance from the attachment end of the foot. With the aid of this flange, a connection element arranged on the connecting bolt can be fixed in the axial direction. If the connecting bolt is a welding stud, the flange can additionally serve to initiate the welding current.
The connecting element for achieving the object mentioned has, according to the invention, a radially resilient bush which has an opening for receiving the shank of a connecting bolt, wherein contact surfaces are provided in the opening. On the insertion side, the bushing may have a radially outwardly extending collar, followed by another bushing section of larger diameter, intended to engage over the flange of a connecting bolt. The connecting element preferably further comprises a radially projecting from the sleeve contact lug, which engages around the radially resilient bushing in the manner of a clamp on the outside with one end.
- A -The invention further comprises an electrically conductive coupling device, which consists of a connecting bolt according to the invention and a connecting element according to the invention. - A -

Das freie Ende des Schaftes 2 ist mit einer kegel- stumpfförmigen Fase 7 versehen, die das Montieren eines Anschlusselements erleichtert.1 shows a connecting bolt 1, which is intended for use as a ground bolt in motor vehicles and is designed so that it can be connected to the vehicle body by means of lift-type ignition welding. The connecting bolt 1 has a shaft 2 and a foot 3. The foot 3 has a larger diameter than the shaft 2 and has at its end facing the shaft 2 a flange 4 with a circular outer contour. The shaft 2 facing away from the end of the foot 3 is provided with an obtuse conical surface 5, the tip of which serves for the welding of the connecting bolt 1 for generating a central arc. During welding, the connecting bolt 1 can be gripped on the flange 4 by means of a pair of pliers, which transfers the welding current to the connecting bolt 1. The shaft 2 has a smooth cylindrical outer surface 6, which forms a contact surface for the attachment of a connection element. Instead of the smooth design, the outer surface 6 may also be provided with a thread, if in addition a mounting option with the help of a mother should be given. The free end of the shaft 2 is provided with a frustoconical chamfer 7, which facilitates the mounting of a connection element.

The protective sleeve 8 has the task of keeping the external surface 6 of the connecting bolt 1 serving as a contact surface free of color or paint when the bodywork part is coated with paint or paint with the connecting bolt 1 fastened thereto by welding. In the subsequent assembly of a connection element, the protective sleeve 8 can be compressed due to their formation in the axial direction to a fraction of their original length, so that a protected area of the outer surface 6 is exposed for the connection of a connection element.
The coupling device 10 consists of the electrically connected to a body part 11 by welding connecting pin 1 with protective sleeve 8 and a releasably connected to the terminal pin connection element 12. The connecting bolt 1 is welded to the body part 11, that the flange 4 at a distance is located from the body part 11.
The connecting element 12 consists of a bush 13 which is provided with a longitudinally extending slot 14 and is formed radially resilient. The bushing 13 has a cylindrical opening 15 whose inner wall forms a contact surface. In the relaxed state of the bush 13, the inner diameter of the opening 15 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the shank 2 of the connecting bolt 1. By attaching to the shaft 2, the bushing 13 is resiliently expanded to the shaft diameter, so that they counteract with a widening Spring force on the shaft 2 is applied. On the insertion side of the opening 15, the bush 13 has a frustoconical, radially outwardly extending collar 16 which, in the manner of a funnel, directs the end of the connecting bolt 1 in the direction of the opening 15 when the parts of the coupling device 10 are in contact with each other get connected. At the outer edge of the collar 16, a cylindrical bushing portion 17 connects, whose inner diameter is equalized to the outer diameter of the flange 4. At its free end, the bushing portion 17 carries radially inwardly directed locking elements 18 which slide over the flange 4 when fastening the connecting element 12 and engage behind the flange 4 on the side facing the body part 11, thereby holding the connecting element 12 on the connecting bolt 1. The overcoming of the flange 4 by the locking elements 18 is facilitated by an additional slot 19 in the collar 16 and the bushing portion 17. It can also be provided several additional slots 19.
To connect a cable, the connecting element 12 has a contact lug 20, which consists of a metal strip which engages around the bush 13 on the outside in the manner of a clamp. The contact lug 20 may be frictionally or positively held with radial bias on the sleeve 13, it may also be connected by spot welding to the bushing 13 inextricably.
As shown in Figure 2, the protective sleeve 8 is displaced by the collar 16 in the direction of the flange 4 during the attachment of the connecting element 12 to the shaft 2 of the connecting bolt 1 and thereby compressed. In the end position of the connecting element 12, the collar 16 and the socket portion 17 form a cavity in which the compressed protective sleeve 8 takes place. Removing the protective sleeve 8 before mounting the connecting element 12 is therefore unnecessary.
