Definitions
- the present invention relates to a surface which can be rubbed off by means of tools or by hand. Furthermore, it relates to a method for producing such a rubbed surface.
- Scratch surfaces are known in everyday life, especially from the field of instant win lottery tickets or similar smaller games of chance. Furthermore, they are used in the field of telephone cards, in which the so-called PIN (personal identification number) is covered by a label provided with a rubbed surface or a clear coat.
- PIN personal identification number
- scratching surfaces serve to cover information or to detect the fact that a person has obtained access to that information.
- additional security features are often integrated into the scratch-off surface to increase product safety.
- a scratch-off label is described which has on its underside a so-called VOID effect and on its upper side additional authenticity features such as imprints, engravings of the scratch-off layer or holograms.
- a rubbed surface having an embossed lacquer layer is in WO 03/066344 A1 shown.
- WO 02/18152 A1 shows a Rubbelober Structure in which the scratch-off layer and the embossed layer are arranged on each other.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a cheaper Scratch surface in a simpler manufacturing process, which is equipped with features in the form of an embossing.
- the object of the invention is achieved by a Rubbelober Formation according to claims 1-15 and by a method according to claims 16-28.
- an additional lacquer layer is applied to a scratch layer, which is provided in the further course by embossing with a holographic structure.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 described in more detail.
- the drawings are not to scale. In particular layer thicknesses are greatly exaggerated to improve the clarity.
- a label 201 for covering information, such as a PIN, that is on a carrier web 202 is shown.
- the label consists of a transparent base film 204, which is provided on the underside with an adhesive layer 203.
- a scratch layer 205 is applied.
- This scratch-off layer is a color layer that can be removed by rubbing, for example with the aid of a fingernail or a coin.
- a hologram composite 206 is applied, consisting of an adhesion-promoting layer 207 and a holographic film 208. With the help of adhesion-promoting Layer 207, for example an adhesive, the holographic foil 208 is fixed on the scratch-off layer 205.
- FIG. 1a An analogously numbered label with a rubbing surface 110a according to the invention is shown. Instead of a hologram composite, a resist layer 109a is applied here. After or during drying, a hologram is imprinted in it.
- the scratch-off surface 110a according to the invention therefore consists of the scratch-off layer 105a and the embossed lacquer layer 109a.
- the lacquer layer 109a is preferably applied to the scratch-off layer 105a without interlayer, so that both layers are in direct contact with one another.
- embossing can surprisingly be carried out despite interlayer-free application and despite the use of soft scratch-off layers, without sacrificing the quality of the embossing or damaging the scratch-off layer.
- opaque color layers which are preferably printed (in screen or in flexographic printing) are possible as the scratch-off layer.
- latex-containing scratch-off layers with a minimum layer thickness of 10 micrometers are preferably used here, particularly preferably with layer thicknesses above 15 micrometers.
- the scratch-off layer should have a scratch resistance of a maximum of 4N, measured with the Erichsen hardness test rod (test tip 0.75 mm). Scratch layers with a maximum scratch resistance of 3N, also measured with the Erichsen hardness test rod (test tip 0.75 mm), are particularly suitable.
- the lacquer layer has a maximum thickness of 20 micrometers in order to enable a high quality of hologram embossing.
- the scratch-off surface is provided on a label, i. in any case, however, it has a means for fixing to an object; usually an adhesive layer. If the rubbing surface is not provided as a label but as, for example, a transfer ink layer, the base film 104a is omitted, and a heat-activatable adhesive, for example, is used as the fixing agent.
- a special embodiment of a rubbing surface according to the invention is shown. It consists of three functional layers; the scratching layer 105b, the embossed resist layer 109b and a coating 111b for improving the reflection properties.
- This additional layer is applied to the embossed surface of the lacquer layer to obtain the holographic effect even when the surface comes into contact with, for example, liquids or fats, such as hand perspiration.
- a coating may for example be a metallization, but other sprayed, printed or vapor-deposited substances can serve this purpose.
- the rubbing surface according to the invention can be produced in a very simple production process in a single pass and in a material-saving manner.
- two printing or coating processes for the scratch-off layer and the varnish layer
- the corresponding drying devices and then a hologram embossing unit are required.
- this is a cost advantage, but also a significantly simplified process for producing an at least equivalent product.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a surface which can be rubbed off by means of tools or by hand. Furthermore, it relates to a method for producing such a rubbed surface.
Scratch surfaces are known in everyday life, especially from the field of instant win lottery tickets or similar smaller games of chance. Furthermore, they are used in the field of telephone cards, in which the so-called PIN (personal identification number) is covered by a label provided with a rubbed surface or a clear coat.
Especially holograms have proven themselves as authenticity feature and appealing design element for scratching surface many times. However, a disadvantage of these products is that they are very costly: they must be finely applied or laminated to the scratch-off layer in an additional operation become. A direct imprinting of a holographic structure in the scratching layer is not possible because it would be destroyed because of its soft nature.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a cheaper Scratch surface in a simpler manufacturing process, which is equipped with features in the form of an embossing.
The object of the invention is achieved by a Rubbeloberfläche according to claims 1-15 and by a method according to claims 16-28. In this case, an additional lacquer layer is applied to a scratch layer, which is provided in the further course by embossing with a holographic structure. Surprisingly, it has been found in experiments that it is possible to emboss a lacquer layer located above the scratch-off layer without causing damage to the scratch-off layer or to inaccurate holography images. This was not to be expected due to the softness of the scratch-off layer.

The
In particular, opaque color layers which are preferably printed (in screen or in flexographic printing) are possible as the scratch-off layer. In order to obtain a covering effect and to form a correspondingly suitable background for the lacquer layer, latex-containing scratch-off layers with a minimum layer thickness of 10 micrometers are preferably used here, particularly preferably with layer thicknesses above 15 micrometers.
In order to achieve a good rub-off in combination with the embossed lacquer, the scratch-off layer should have a scratch resistance of a maximum of 4N, measured with the Erichsen hardness test rod (test tip 0.75 mm). Scratch layers with a maximum scratch resistance of 3N, also measured with the Erichsen hardness test rod (test tip 0.75 mm), are particularly suitable.
As a paint layers are primarily transparent paints in question. In In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the lacquer layer has a maximum thickness of 20 micrometers in order to enable a high quality of hologram embossing.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the scratch-off surface is provided on a label, i. in any case, however, it has a means for fixing to an object; usually an adhesive layer. If the rubbing surface is not provided as a label but as, for example, a transfer ink layer, the
In
The rubbing surface according to the invention can be produced in a very simple production process in a single pass and in a material-saving manner. For this purpose, two printing or coating processes (for the scratch-off layer and the varnish layer) and the corresponding drying devices and then a hologram embossing unit are required. In comparison to the conventional lamination or heat-sealing of another film on the scratch-off layer, not only is this a cost advantage, but also a significantly simplified process for producing an at least equivalent product.
