Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for tanning the human body and in particular for avoiding application margins in the tanning and a cosmetic formulation which is suitable for the stated purpose.
- the tanning of the human skin is considered a sign of wellbeing and health.
- the natural tanning due to the UV radiation contained in sunlight also carries risks, such as premature skin aging or an increased risk of skin cancer.
- UV filter preparations are offered, which are to filter damaging portions of the UV radiation.
- pre-Tan products or “tan promoters” are offered, which must be applied before the sun's rays.
- tan promoters In the sun, a yellowing of these preparations occurs, which should lead to a slight brown-yellow coloration of the epidermis, which additionally intensifies the "suntan” and thus shortens the time that the body has to be exposed to the sun.
- Another type of artificial tanning that is completely independent of UV light can be caused by the hormones that are usually released in the body as a result of (natural) UV radiation and that ultimately stimulate the melanocytes to produce melanin.
- the hormones that are usually released in the body as a result of (natural) UV radiation and that ultimately stimulate the melanocytes to produce melanin.
- POMC Proopiomelanocortin
- NDP synthetic variants
- these hormones can generally cause tanning, their use in cosmetics can not be used as it is clearly a pharmacologically active substance (hormones). which should not be widely used without medical indication.
- a problem with the use of self-tanner is the uniform application to the human skin in a sufficiently high concentration of active ingredient.
- so-called application edges occur, in particular on the face or on other edges of the application zone. These application edges form, e.g. as creams are applied only just before the hairline and the tanning is done up to this edge of application.
- a first object of the present invention is therefore a method for browning the human body which thereby characterized in that at least one formulation containing from 0.1 to 1 wt .-% of at least one self-tanner substance is repeated, but applied at least once a day to the human body or parts of the human body.
- the repeated application serves to avoid application margins.
- a further subject of the present invention is therefore a method for avoiding application margins in the browning of the human body, which is characterized in that at least one formulation comprising from 0.1 to 1 wt .-% of at least one self-tanning substance repeated, but at least once a day is applied to the human body or parts of the human body. This use takes advantage of the fact that in repeated manual application, the application margins are never really identical, but usually differ from each other by at least a few millimeters. Thus, a slow "phasing out" of the tan towards the untreated skin hue is achieved at the application site.
- the at least one formulation is applied twice or three times a day, preferably twice a day.
- the application takes place in the morning by means of a daily care formulation containing from 0.1 to 1% by weight of at least one self-tanning substance and in the evening by means of a night-care formulation containing from 0.1 to 1% by weight of at least one self-tanning substance.
- Another object of the present invention are cosmetic formulations which are particularly suitable for the use according to the invention. Claimed are therefore cosmetic - A -
- Formulations containing at least one self-tanning substance characterized in that the formulation contains more than 0.1% by weight and less than 0.5% by weight of the at least one self-tanning substance.
- self-tanning substances or self-tanning substances are understood as meaning all substances or substance mixtures which are capable of browning human skin without the influence of UV radiation.
- Advantageous self-tanning agents for the purposes of the present invention may be the following substances:
- 5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone is extracted from the shells of fresh walnuts.

Abstract
Description

B. Lysolecithine). Lysophospholipide sind gekennzeichnet durch die allgemeine Strukturformel
O
I ! i 2 1
HO-C-H O I I!
CK-O-P-OH I OH

Nattermann/Rhone-Poulenc), Lipoid S 100 (Fa. Lipoid).

CA. Rice-Evans, N.J. Miller, G. Paganga, Trends in Plant Science 1997, 2(4), 152-159). K. Lemanska, H. Szymusiak, B. Tyrakowska, R. Zielinski, A.E. M. F. Soffers, I. M.C.M.

Auflage, Society of Dyers and Colourists, Bradford, England, 1971 entnommen.
