- the lifter 3 can also be moved back and forth using a jack 1 whose reversing stroke is limited by means of at least one stop marking a position intended to correspond to a position wherein the jaws 10 are in bearing contact against the profiles 15 to be connected at the crimping point thereof, before crimping.
- a limit stop 13 of the cylinder 1 adjustable in position and arranged on the plate 17 makes it possible to adjust the depth of penetration of the tools.

- at least one crimping tooth 11 comprises, in its vicinity, a bearing surface 19 constituting a front end limiting the insertion depth of the tooth 11 in said profile 15 during crimping operations. This abutment makes it possible to limit the depth of penetration of the tooth 11 into the constituent material of the profile 15, in order to avoid damage to said wall, without having to regulate very precisely the force applied by the rod 16 of the jack 1.
- Said installation described in Figure 6 can be used to make the simultaneous connections of four profiles to form a frame.
- Said installation 21 comprises four crimping heads 14 according to the invention.
- Each of these heads 14 is placed at one of the corners of the frame to be assembled and is optionally associated with positioning and holding members of the profiles before crimping. The four heads are then actuated synchronously to cut crimping tabs in each of the walls of the profiles to be assembled.
