Um einen tatsächlich schlupffreien Transport zu gewährleisten, muss das transportierte flächige Gut niedergehalten und vertikal auf das Transportband gedrückt werden. Zur Erzeugung der hierzu erforderlichen vertikalen Anpresskraft werden sowohl Belastungskugeln als auch Führungsrollen eingesetzt.
