Abstract
La présente invention concerne un mélange comprenant en poids, le total étant 100% : 99 à 10% d'un copolymère (A) à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, 1 à 90 % d'au moins un polymère (B) choisi parmi : les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12, les copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame. L'invention concerne aussi les objets fabriqués avec ce mélange. Ce sont par exemple des films, des feuilles, des joncs, des tubes.
Description
MÉLANGES À BASE D'ÉLASTOMÈRES THERMOPLASTIQUES
Les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéihers sont aussi appelés polyéther blocs amides (PEBA), ce sont des élastomères thermoplastiques. Ils sont appelés aussi polyamides élastomères. L'invention concerne des mélanges de copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers qui ont des blocs polyamide constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame avec un polyamide autre qu'un polyamide 12 ou un autre copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame. On appelle « reste» la structure du monomère après polycondensation. Ces copolymères ne comprennent pas de fonctions ioniques. Ils sont utiles pour fabriquer de nombreux objets et en particulier des chaussures de sport.
De nombreuses demandes de brevet décrivent des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers.
US 4820796 décrit des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers dont les blocs polyamides sont en PA 6 (polyamide 6 ou polycaprolactame) et les blocs polyéthers en PTMG (polytetraméthylène glycol ou polyoxytetraméthylène glycol ou encore polytetrahydrofuranne) de masse molaire moyenne en nombre Mn comprise entre 680 et 4040. Ils ont une transparence insuffisante.
US 5280087 décrit des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers dont les blocs polyamides sont en PA 6 (polyamide 6 ou polycaprolactame) et les blocs polyéthers en PTMG (polytetraméthylène glycol ou polyoxytetraméthylène glycol ou encore polytetrahydrofuranne) de masse molaire moyenne en nombre Mn comprise entre 1000 et 2000. Ils ont une transparence insuffisante.
La demande de brevet JP 05 078477 A publiée le 30 mars 1993 décrit des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs en copolyamide mais les blocs polyéthers sont un mélange de PTMG et de PEG
(polyethylène glycol ou polyoxyéthylène glycol) contenant entre 30 et 99% en
poids de PEG. La masse molaire moyenne en nombre Mn du PTMG est comprise entre 1000 et 2000, La masse molaire moyenne en nombre Mn du PEG est comprise entre 1000 et 2020. Ils sont utilisés pour rendre des résines antistatiques. Il est écrit aussi qu'ils ont d'excellentes propriétés de perméabilité à la vapeur d'eau.
La demande de brevet WO 04 037898 décrit des copolymères transparents à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers dans lesquels:
• les blocs polyéthers sont constitués essentiellement de PTMG de masse molaire moyenne en nombre Mn comprise entre 200 et 4000 g/mol, « les blocs polyamides sont constitués d'un monomère majoritaire semi cristallin aliphatique linéaire (non cyclique, non ramifié) et d'une quantité suffisante d'au moins un comonomère pour diminuer leur cristallinité tout en restant immiscibles avec les blocs amorphes polyéthers,
• la dureté Shore D est comprise entre 20 et 70. La transparence est définie comme étant une opacité inférieure à 12 % pour un échantillon d'au moins 2 mm d'épaisseur.
On a maintenant trouvé qu'on pouvait améliorer les propriétés des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers qui ont des blocs polyamide constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame en les mélangeant avec un polyamide autre qu'un polyamide 12 ou un autre copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame. On améliore en particulier les propriétés optiques.
La présente invention concerne un mélange comprenant en poids, le total étant 100% :
99 à 10% d'un copolymère (A) à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers, ayant des blocs polyamide constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, et 1 à 90 % d'au moins un polymère (B) choisi parmi : - les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12,
- les copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame,

- les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryliactame, ledit copolymère (A) et ledit polymère (B) ne comprenant pas de fonction ionique.
Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, (B) est transparent.
Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, (B) est le PA 11.
Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, (B) est choisi parmi les copolyamides constitués majoritairement de restes d'acide amino-11- undécanoïque.
Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, (B) est choisi parmi les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers dont les blocs polyamides sont en PA 11 ou des copolyamides constitués majoritairement d'acide amino-11- undecanoïque. Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, la proportion de (B) est de 5 à 40% pour respectivement 95 à 60% de (A).
Selon un mode de réalisation du mélange, la proportion de (B) est de 10 à 35% pour respectivement 90 à 65% de (A).
L'invention concerne aussi les objets fabriqués avec ce mélange. Ce sont par exemple des films, des feuilles, des plaques, des joncs, des tubes.
Les copolymères (A) à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers résultent de la copolycondensation de séquences polyamides à extrémités réactives avec des séquences polyéthers à extrémités réactives, telles que, entre autres : 1) Séquences polyamides à bouts de chaîne diamines avec des séquences polyoxyalkylènes à bouts de chaînes dicarboxyliques. 2) Séquences polyamides à bouts de chaînes dicarboxyliques avec des séquences polyoxyalkylènes à bouts de chaînes diamines obtenues par cyanoéthylation et hydrogénation de séquences polyoxyalkylène alpha-oméga dihydroxylées aliphatiques appelées polyétherdiols.
3) Séquences polyamides à bouts de chaînes dicarboxyliques avec des polyétherdiols, les produits obtenus étant, dans ce cas particulier, des polyétheresteramides. Les copoiymères de l'invention sont avantageusement de ce type. Les séquences polyamides à bouts de chaînes dicarboxyliques proviennent par exemple de la condensation de précurseurs de polyamides en présence d'un diacide carboxylique limiteur de chaîne.
Les séquences polyamides à bouts de chaînes diamines proviennent par exemple de la condensation de précurseurs de polyamides en présence d'une diamine limiteur de chaîne.
Les polymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers peuvent aussi comprendre des motifs répartis de façon aléatoire. Ces polymères peuvent être préparés par la réaction simultanée du polyéther et des précurseurs des blocs polyamides. Par exemple, on peut faire réagir du polyétherdiol, des précurseurs de polyamide et un diacide limiteur de chaîne. On obtient un polymère ayant essentiellement des blocs polyéthers, des blocs polyamides de longueur très variable, mais aussi les différents réactifs ayant réagi de façon aléatoire qui sont répartis de façon aléatoire (statistique) le long de la chaîne polymère. On peut aussi faire réagir du polyétherdiamine, des précurseurs de polyamide et un diacide limiteur de chaîne. On obtient un polymère ayant essentiellement des blocs polyéthers, des blocs polyamides de longueur très variable, mais aussi les différents réactifs ayant réagi de façon aléatoire qui sont répartis de façon aléatoire (statistique) le long de la chaîne polymère. Les blocs polyamides de (A) sont constitués en majorité de restes de lauryllactame. C'est à dire qu'ils comprennent au moins 50,5% en poids de restes de lauryllactame, avantageusement au moins 55% et de préférence 60%. Ils peuvent aussi être constitués seulement de restes de lauryllactame. Cette proportion est exprimée par rapport aux restes des monomères constituant les blocs polyamide mais ne comprend pas le limitateur de chaîne. Les autres constituants éventuels du bloc polyamide peuvent être un autre lactame tel que le caprolactame ou l'oenantholactame ou un acide alpha oméga

amino carboxylique aliphatique tel que l'acide amino-7-heptanoïque et l'acide amino-11-undécanoïque. Les autres constituants du bloc polyamide peuvent être aussi un mélange équimolaire d'un diacide et d'une diamine. Les autres constituants éventuels du bloc polyamide peuvent être aussi un autre lactame ou un acide alpha oméga amino carboxylique aliphatique n'ayant pas 12 atomes de carbone et un mélange équimolaire d'un diacide et d'une diamine.
A titre d'exemple de diamines aliphatiques on peut citer l'hexaméthylènediamine, la dodécaméthylènediamine et la triméthylhexaméthylène diamine. A titre d'exemple de diacides cycloaliphatiques on peut citer l'acide 1 ,4- cyclohexyldicarboxylique.
A titre d'exemple de diacides aliphatiques on peut citer les acides butane-dioïque, adipique, azélaïque, subérique, sébacique, dodécanedicarboxylique, les acides gras dimérisés (ces acides gras dimérisés ont de préférence une teneur en dimère d'au moins 98%; de préférence ils sont hydrogénés; ils sont commercialisés sous la marque "PRIPOL" par la société "UNICHEMA", ou sous la marque EMPOL par la société HENKEL) et les Polyoxyalkylènes - α,ω diacides.
A titre d'exemple de diacides aromatiques on peut citer les acides téréphtalique (T) et isophtalique (I).
Les diamines cycloaliphatiques peuvent être les isomères des bis-(4- aminocyclohexyl)-méthane (BACM), bis-(3-méthyl-4-aminocyclohexyl)méthane (BMACM), et 2-2-bis-(3-méthyl-4-aminocyclohexyl)-propane(BMACP), et para- amino-di-cyclo-hexyl-méthane (PACM). Les autres diamines couramment utilisées peuvent être l'isophoronediamine (IPDA), la 2,6-bis-(aminométhyl)- norbornane (BAMN) et la pipérazine.
Les blocs polyéthers représentent 5 à 49,5%, avantageusement de 10 à 30%, encore plus avantageusement de 10 à 25% en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et polyéthers. Les blocs polyéthers sont constitués de motifs oxyde d'alkylène. Ces motifs peuvent être par exemple des motifs oxyde d'éthylène, des motifs oxyde de propylène, des motifs triméthylène ether, ou tétrahydrofurane (qui conduit aux enchaînements polytétraméthylène glycol).

On utilise ainsi des blocs PEG c'est à dire ceux constitués de motifs oxyde d'éthylène, des blocs PPG c'est à dire ceux constitués de motifs oxyde de propylène et des blocs PTMG c'est à dire ceux constitués de motifs tetraméthylène glycols appelés aussi polytétrahydrofurane. On peut encore citer les copolyethers à blocs ou statistiques. La quantité de blocs polyéther dans ces copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers est avantageusement de 10 à 70% en poids du copolymère et de préférence de 35 à 60%.
Les blocs polyétherdiols sont soit utilisés tels quels et copolycondensés avec des blocs polyamides à extrémités carboxyliques, soit ils sont aminés pour être transformés en polyéther diamines et condensés avec des blocs polyamides à extrémités carboxyliques. Ils peuvent être aussi mélangés avec des précurseurs de polyamide et un limiteur de chaîne diacide pour faire les polymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des motifs répartis de façon statistique. La masse molaire en nombre Mn des séquences polyamides peut être comprise entre 500 et 10000 et de préférence entre 500 et 4000. La masse Mn des séquences polyéther peut être comprise entre 100 et 6 000 et de préférence entre 200 et 3 000.
Ces polymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers qu'ils proviennent de la copolycondensation de séquences polyamides et polyéthers préparées auparavant ou d'une réaction en une étape présentent, par exemple, une viscosité intrinsèque entre 0,8 et 2,5 mesurée dans le métacrésol à 25° C pour une concentration initiale de 0,8 g/100 ml. De tels copolymères avec des blocs polytriméthylene ether sont décrits dans le brevet US 6590065. La préparation des copolymères (A) est décrite dans l'art antérieur.
Les blocs polyamides, rigides, sont majoritaires en pourcentage en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers. Les blocs polyéthers, souples, sont minoritaires en pourcentage en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers.
S'agissant du polymère (B), il est choisi parmi : - les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12,

- les copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame,
- ies copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, les blocs polyamides, rigides, étant majoritaires en pourcentage en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers, les blocs polyéthers, souples, étant minoritaires en pourcentage en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers.
Avantageusement on choisit dans les produits ci-dessus ceux qui sont les plus transparents.
Parmi les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12, on peut citer à titre d'exemple le PA 6, le PA 6.6, le PA 6.9, le PA 6.10, le PA 6.12, le PA 6.18 et le PA 11.
S'agissant des copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, on peut citer le PA 6/12 majoritaire en 6, le PA 6/ 6.6, le PA 6/ 11 , le PA 6/11/ 6.6, les copolyamides constitués majoritairement de restes d'acide aminoundecanoïque (PA 11).
S'agissant des copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame ce sont par exemple des copolymères comme (A) mais les blocs polyamides sont des polyamides autres que les polyamides 12 ou des copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame. A titre d'exemple de tels blocs polyamide ou copolyamide du copolymère (B) à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéthers on peut citer les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12 et les copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame qu'on a cités plus haut. Les blocs polyéthers représentent 5 à 49,5%, avantageusement de 10 à 30%, encore plus avantageusement de 10 à 25% en poids du copolymère à blocs polyamides et polyéthers.
S'agissant des proportions de (A) et (B), la proportion de (B) est avantageusement de 5 à 40% pour respectivement 95 à 60% de (A). De
préférence la proportion de (B) est de 10 à 35% pour respectivement 90 à 65% de (A). Le mélange de (A) et (B) peut être effectué à l'état fondu dans les appareillages habituels utilisés pour les thermoplastiques. Le mélange de l'invention peut comprendre les additifs habituels des polyamides.
On a utilisé comme produit (A) un copolymère à blocs PA 12 de Mn 5000 et blocs PTMG de Mn 650. La viscosité inhérente de ce copolymère est entre
1 ,33 et 1 ,48, la dureté shore D est 70.
On a utilisé comme produit (B) un copolymère à blocs PA 11 de Mn 5000 et blocs PTMG de Mn 650. La viscosité inhérente de ce copolymère est entre
1 ,33 et 1 ,48, la dureté shore D est 70.
On a mesuré la transmission lumineuse et l'opacité sur des plaques de
100*100*2 mm3.
L'opacité (exprimé en %) est le rapport de réflectance du matériau placé sur un support noir sur la réflectance du matériau placé sur un support blanc. Les résultats sont regroupés dans le tableau 1 ci-dessous.

La transparence des copolymères de la présente invention a été mesurée sur des plaques de 2 à 4 mm d'épaisseur.
On a représenté la transmission et l'opacité sur les figures 1 et 2 suivantes.
Claims
REVENDICATIONS
1 Mélange comprenant en poids, le total étant 100% :
99 à 10% d'un copolymère (A) à blocs polyamides et blocs poiyéthers, ayant des blocs polyamide constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, et 1 à 90 % d'au moins un polymère (B) choisi parmi :
- les polyamides autres que les polyamides 12,
- les copolyamides qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame, - les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs poiyéthers ayant des blocs polyamide qui ne sont pas constitués majoritairement de restes de lauryllactame ; ledit copolymère (A) et ledit polymère (B) ne comprenant pas de fonction ionique.
2 Mélange selon la revendication 1 dans lequel (B) est transparent.
3 Mélange selon la revendication 1 ou 2 dans lequel (B) est le PA 11.
4 Mélange selon la revendication 1 ou 2 dans lequel (B) est choisi parmi les copolyamides constitués majoritairement de restes d'acide amino-11 - undécanoïque.
5 Mélange selon la revendication 1 ou 2 dans lequel (B) est choisi parmi les copolymères à blocs polyamides et blocs polyéther dont les blocs polyamides sont en PA 11 ou des copolyamides constitués majoritairement d'acide amino-11 -undécanoïque.
6 Mélange selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes dans lequel la proportion de (B) est de 5 à 40% pour respectivement 95 à 60% de (A).
7 Mélange selon la revendication 6 dans lequel la proportion de (B) est de 10 à 35% pour respectivement 90 à 65% de (A).
8 Objets fabriqués avec le mélange de l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes.
