Abstract

A frameless glass door arrangement for a doorway bounded in part by a top section and a bottom section is disclosed. The frameless glass door arrangement includes two hinge parts rotatably embedded in the respective top section and bottom section; and a glass door leaf including a main body including a top edge, a bottom edge and a lateral edge, the glass door leaf further including two tongue-shaped extensions disposed adjacent to the lateral edge. The extensions extend outward from the respective top edge and bottom edge of the main body and into the respective hinge parts so that the doorway is completely transparent after the glass door leaf is installed in the doorway.

Description

Technisches UmfeldTechnical environment

The invention relates to a frameless glass door, in particular glass pendulum door or stop door, with a glass door leaf in a door opening and with bottom-side and ceiling-side or side hinges.

Glass facades, glass walls and glass doors have prevailed not only on business portals, but also in the area of offices and in modern interior design. They give a free insight in both directions
Perspective and contribute to the openness and the connection between inside and outside. As a result, barriers are broken down and, for example, in the business area, threshold anxiety is counteracted.

Glass doors require fittings, especially hinges, which usually consist of metal and the bottom side and the ceiling must be flanged to the glass door leaf. For this purpose, U-profiles made of metal are used, which overlap the hinge-side corner areas and partially enclose and hold the glass door leaf. At these metal profiles, the axes of rotation or mandrel receptacles are arranged, which engage in counterparts in the floor or ceiling construction.

Special training is based on a multilayer laminated glass pane. A flat piece of a hinge part engages in the composite construction, so that the glass is not as usual between two jaws of a U-profile, but surrounds the flat hinge part.

A disadvantage is the prior art, such as in DE 20220773 U1 shown that the glass doors are indeed frameless, but yet formed with visible metallic hinge parts.

Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention Technisches ProblemTechnical problem

The invention aims to free the glass door leaf of all visible hinge parts and to make the entire door opening invariably transparent.

This is achieved in a frameless glass door of the type described above, characterized in that the glass door leaf in the region of the hinges each tongue-like glass projections which protrude beyond the geometric shape, in particular rectangular shape of the glass door leaf and dive outside the field of view in the direction of the door opening in a rotatable hinge part ,

Although here is spoken by a glass door, all features apply mutatis mutandis to glass wings, such as windows. All hinge parts are thus always outside the door opening, so completely in the floor or ceiling construction or completely in a door frame. The glass extensions are parts of the door leaf and make the invisible connection to the likewise invisible hinges. It is useful if the glass door leaf and the glass extensions are integrally formed. With modern adhesives, the extensions can at most attach to the glass edges. If their refractive properties correspond to the glass, the splice, even if profiled or splined for reinforcement, remains completely invisible. Finally, it is advantageous if the glass extensions and the rotatable hinge part, for example by gluing, are firmly connected and when the rotatable hinge part on a pin, such as a floor door closer, can be placed. The glass extensions engage in gaps, grooves or profile recesses of the rotatable hinge part and are fixed there. These areas are entirely outside the door opening and completely out of sight. The glass extensions can engage in diagonal grooves of circular cylindrical bearing pieces which are rotatable in rotatably mounted bearing shells, preferably between stops. Bearings and bearings may be formed as radial and axial bearings or ball bearings. Below the bottom-side or the ceiling-side circular cylindrical bearing piece, a bottom door closer can be arranged, which engages positively with its pin (eg square) in a corresponding recess in the bottom of the bearing piece. The entire unit of non-rotating bearing shell and (if available) floor spring can be lowered in a recessed mounting box on threaded spindles (spacer screws) down so that at least one glass extension with its circular cylindrical bearing piece can be released and the glass door can be removed.

Kurze Beschreibung von ZeichnungenShort description of drawings

Fig. 1 shows a frameless glass door in a door opening with the hinges in cross section, Fig. 2 the bottom hinges in plan view, Fig. 3 the glass door leaf in view, Fig. 4 a corner of a door opening with glass door leaf and hinges on a floor spring, partially in section, Fig. 5 another embodiment of a hinge in cross-section and Fig. 6 a section along the line VI-VI in Fig. 5 ,

According to Fig. 1 fills a glass door leaf 1 a dashed door opening 2 shown in full. In the door opening 2, so within the outline of the dashed line of the door opening 2, no hinge fittings or fitting parts can be seen. The glass door leaf 1 shows in the execution Fig. 1 to 4 each tongue-like glass extensions 3, 4, on the narrow sides of the rectangular glass door leaf 1 next one of the long sides are provided. These glass extensions 3, 4 also project beyond the door opening 2, ie in the Fig. 1 the dashed line of the door opening 2, and dip into a recess 5 of a rotatable circular cylindrical hinge part 6, 7 a. These circular cylindrical hinge parts 6, 7 are bearing pieces such as bearing journals, which are rotatably received in rotatably arranged bearing shells 8, 9 corresponding to a sliding bearing. A rolling or ball bearing in the radial and / or axial direction is possible between the hinge parts 6, 7 and the rotationally fixed bearing shells 8, 9. If the latter lowered into a lower recess, then the rotatable hinge parts 6, 7 are disengaged and the glass door can be unhooked.

Fig. 2 shows in plan view the bottom hinge part 6, the recess 5 is formed as a diagonal slot or groove which receives the glass extension 3 in a form-fitting manner. In a specific embodiment, the glass extensions had a projecting length of about 2 cm and a width of 5 to 6 cm. Considering the bottom gap of 5 mm, the depth of the recess 5 was about 1.5 cm, the length of the recess 5 about 5 to 6 cm, and the width in accordance with the thickness of the safety glass. Gluing this metal hinge part 6 with the glass extension 3 is possible.

In the manufacture of the glass door panel 1, it is assumed that there is a glass panel a few (e.g., four) inches long, and then, e.g. With modern high-pressure blasting methods, the narrow side is shortened so that the glass extensions 3, 4 remain standing. The glass door leaf 1 is here formed integrally with the glass extensions 3, 4.

In the execution after Fig. 4 immersed the glass extension 3 in a rotatable hinge part 10, the bottom side has a square recess. So if the frameless glass door opened, then the hinge part 10 rotates by 75 °, for example, clamped over the form-fitting attacking pin 11, the bottom door closer 12, the corresponding braked for the reverse rotation of the hinge part 10 and thus ensuring the closing of the glass door. The braking behavior of the floor spring as well as a locking in the 90 ° position can be influenced by one or more adjusting screws 13. For this purpose, a cover 14 is removable or it has closable access openings for screwdrivers or socket wrenches.

Fig. 4 further shows that the entire aforementioned assembly (bottom door closer 12 with pin 11) is arranged on a plate 15, which can be lowered via spindles, eg bolts 16, 17 with hexagonal heads or Inbusausnehmungen (arrow 18). In the lowered state, the pin 11 comes back from the hinge part 10, and the glass door leaf 1 can be taken together with the hinge part 10 to the side of the door opening. This is included Fig. 4 still the cover 14 too Remove, which is executed in the middle (in the drawing plane) divided.

If the glass extensions 3 and 4 are not glued to the hinge parts 6, 7 and 10, but dive into the recesses 5 positively, then by lowering all components, including the hinge part 10, the glass door leaf 1 accordingly Fig. 3 be removed.

It is also an embodiment according to the FIGS. 5 and 6 possible, are provided in the glass extensions 23 on a longitudinal side of the glass door leaf 24 near the ground and near the ceiling. These glass projections 23 project beyond the dashed line drawn door opening 25 and immerse each in a rotatable hinge part 26. The formed slot 27 and the rotation axis 28 are in Fig. 6 to see. The glass extensions 23 can be glued into the slots 27, or screws can be used, which pass through glass bores in the glass extensions 23. In order to allow the glass door to be opened by 90 °, the hinge parts 26 can swing out, as the arrow 29 in FIG Fig. 6 illustrated. When the door is closed, the hinge part 26 completely disappears from the region of the door opening 25 FIGS. 5 and 6 has a rotatable hinge part 26 in the shape of a cylinder with the base of a quarter-circle sector. The axis of rotation is next to the center of an imaginary full circle. When the door is closed, the rotatable hinge part 26 is completely in a same shape recess in a door frame. When the door is opened, the hinge part 26 pivots out and allows the door to open completely through 90 °.
