Abstract

　本発明のネマチック液晶組成物は、第一成分として、一般式（I） 【化１】 で表される化合物を１種又は２種以上含有しその含有率が１０から８０質量％であり、 第二成分として、一般式（II） 【化２】 で表される化合物を１種又は２種以上含有しその含有率が２０から７０質量％であり、誘電率異方性が負であることを特徴とする。このネマチック液晶組成物を用いることにより、高温域まで高い電圧保持率を維持でき、セルギャップを薄くすることなく高速応答化が可能な、信頼性に優れた液晶表示素子を提供することができる。
