- the cutting machine forms a section of a production line at which the printed products are collected, bound, cut and stacked in succession.
- Cutting machines of the type mentioned are also known to the person skilled in the art as trimmers or three-knife trimmers. Depending on the cutting principle is also distinguished between machines that work with knife and counter knife on the principle of scissors and those that work with a cutting blade against a softer cutting edge.
- the printed products must first be brought into the cutting position by means of a conveyor system, aligned there exactly and pressed in this position before the cutting process can be carried out.
- the pressure is released again and the printed product is removed from the cutting area, so that space can be made for the next printed product. Further funds are required for the removal of the chips produced during the cutting process. For example, if chips are left over, they can affect the alignment process of the next printed product to be trimmed, resulting in reduced cutting accuracy or even unusable printed matter. It is also conceivable that chips are carried along by the printed products and lead to disruptions in a subsequent processing process. Particularly critical is the situation in the removal of chips on cutting devices in which the cutting blades are transverse to the conveying direction of the printed products, because the available space must be used both for the promotion of the printed matter and the removal of the chips.
- blower nozzles which are attached to the movable cutting blade or parts near the knife and thus participate in the knife movement.
- the blast air is directed along the back of the cutting blade against the cutting edge of the blade, with the intention of blowing the chips away from the cutting blade.
- additional blower which are also attached to the cutting blade and are directed against a collecting funnel of a chip suction, the chips should be accelerated and transported into the Auftangtrichter.
- a disadvantage of this solution is that the directed in the direction of the collecting funnel blowing air nozzles are far away from the resulting chips, so that an insufficient effect. Due to the formation of air vortices, the removal speed in the direction of the collecting funnel is too small and collisions with the next printed product to be circumcised are not excluded.
- the aforementioned embodiments also have the disadvantage that the measures provided for the chip removal organs, such as blowing air nozzles and baffles are attached directly to the cutting blade or knife carrier and always occupy the same relative position relative to the cutting blade. This means that these organs are themselves move analogous to the cutting blade on a curve that is determined by the swinging section of the cutting blade. As a result, the freedom of design for these institutions is severely limited because with the required for the promotion of the printed products on the cutting table facilities no collisions may occur.
- the invention has for its object to dissipate the cutting edges resulting from the cutting of printed products in particular those of the front section continuously and without jamming from the cutting area.
- a cutting device 23 in particular a three-knife trimmer for trimming a side edge of a printed product 1, such as a book, a brochure, magazine or the like., Preferably shown on the front edge.

- the fixed to a knife carrier 2 cutting blade 3 moves at least during the cutting process in a cutting plane in the vertical and horizontal directions.
- the knife carrier 2 is fixed by known means, such as screws, to a knife carrier holder 5, which is guided at its two ends in a guide device 6 of the machine frame 20.
- the drive of the knife carrier holder 5 is effected by a drive device, not shown in the drawing.
- Guide means not shown also ensure that cutting blade 3, knife carrier 2 and blade holder 5 move in the direction of arrow 4.
- the printed product 1 is pressed by means of a press ram 7 on the cutting table 22 with the cutting bar 30. This is necessary so that the printed products 1 can not move due to the cutting forces occurring during cutting.
- the feed device 21 upstream of the cutting device 23 conveys the printed products 1 onto the cutting table 22.
- the feed device 21 consists of an upstream table 24 on which the printed products 1 during conveyance by a belt conveyor 25 and a slider 26, which promotes the printed products 1 in the cutting position on the cutting table 22.
- the end of the table 24 facing the cutting table 22 must be able to be set back so that a sufficiently large discharge cross section can be created.
- this is achieved so that the end of the table is designed as a flap 9 which is pivotally mounted about an axis 27.
- the flap 9 forms the end of the table 24, however, it is pivoted during cutting down and keeps the chip removal device 31 for the chips 8 free.
- the drive of the flap 9 is cyclically controlled by known means, such as cams, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic drives.
- the Fig. 3 the emergence of the conveying effect and the displacement of the cut chips 8 are shown.
- the pages of a printed product 1 are usually not mutually fixed with folds or other connections, so that chips 8 continuously accumulate and can be removed during cutting.
- the chips 8 are washed away from the cutting blade 3 and transported out of the cutting area.
- a special nozzle arrangement is provided, wherein the nozzles 11 to the back 32 of the cutting blade 3 in approximately parallel and the delivery nozzles 12 are arranged at an acute angle ⁇ to the surface of the guide walls 35 which together form a Spaner chargedsraum 33.
- the further transport of the chips 8 can be carried out by the chip removal device 31, for example a suction device.
- the distribution of the air to the nozzles 11,12 takes place from Blas Kunststoffschn 38,39, via air connections 29 are connected to a blown air source (not shown).
- the nozzle arrangement serves for a rinsing effect in which the cut chips 8 are displaced out of the cutting region into a conveying flow of the blowing air which is parallel to the cutting plane and carries the chips 8 out of the cutting region. It is advantageous to maintain the air supply only as long as required for the removal of chips 8. It is extremely important that the chips 8 are led away immediately after their formation and continuously, because otherwise, especially when cutting wide chips 8 with thick printed products 1 could form a backwater.
- a guide element 10 has a guide element region 37 which faces the chips 8 and extends from above the cutting edge 34 in a continuously curved shape toward the end 36, which preferably lies below the cutting edge 34, and forms a chip detection space 33 Guide element 10 to make two-piece.
- the vault part 13 which is closer to the cutting blade 3 is slidably connected to the former in the vertical direction by means of a carriage 15, while the vault part 14 remote from the cutting blade 3 can be raised by means of a slider 18 on a rail 19, vertically upwards to the arched part 13 can. This function can be used to avoid damage due to collisions between an incompletely transported on the cutting table printed product 1 and the second arched portion 14.
- the guide element 10 does not have the same shape over the entire length of the cutting blade 3, but is divided into a plurality of segments 28.
- the Division into segments has the additional advantage that only as many segments 28 must be installed, as required by the cut length.
- the guide element 10 is connected via the carriage 15 with the knife carrier 2 or knife carrier holder 5 and guided by control cam 16 and guide roller 17 such that the lateral movement of the cutting blade 3 is compensated.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cutting device for the stepping of a side edge of at least one printed product, such as a book block, book, brochure or magazine, consisting of a cutting table, which the printed product is fed into a cutting position, a press stamp holding the printed product on the cutting table during the cutting process, one from a reversal position against the lying on the cutting table printed product driven cutting blade and a counter blade resp. a cutting strip bordering the cutting stroke of the cutting blade on the cutting table and a blowing air at the back of the cutting blade on the chip removal device separated from the printed product, wherein a chip-collecting space acted on by blowing nozzles is arranged on the rear side of the cutting blade and the cutting device is used.
Bound book blanks, book blocks, brochures and similar printed materials become three pages after the binding process trimmed to finished size. As a rule, the cutting machine forms a section of a production line at which the printed products are collected, bound, cut and stacked in succession. Cutting machines of the type mentioned are also known to the person skilled in the art as trimmers or three-knife trimmers. Depending on the cutting principle is also distinguished between machines that work with knife and counter knife on the principle of scissors and those that work with a cutting blade against a softer cutting edge. Regardless of the cutting principle, the printed products must first be brought into the cutting position by means of a conveyor system, aligned there exactly and pressed in this position before the cutting process can be carried out. After the cutting process, the pressure is released again and the printed product is removed from the cutting area, so that space can be made for the next printed product. The requirements for the removal of the chips are also with higher cycle times or shorter cycle time, with greater cutting thickness and wider sections further increased. Without tools for chip removal, today's cutting machines can not operate reliably. A common solution is the use of blower nozzles, which are attached to the movable cutting blade or parts near the knife and thus participate in the knife movement. The blast air is directed along the back of the cutting blade against the cutting edge of the blade, with the intention of blowing the chips away from the cutting blade. By means of additional blower, which are also attached to the cutting blade and are directed against a collecting funnel of a chip suction, the chips should be accelerated and transported into the Auftangtrichter. A disadvantage of this solution is that the directed in the direction of the collecting funnel blowing air nozzles are far away from the resulting chips, so that an insufficient effect. The aforementioned embodiments also have the disadvantage that the measures provided for the chip removal organs, such as blowing air nozzles and baffles are attached directly to the cutting blade or knife carrier and always occupy the same relative position relative to the cutting blade. This means that these organs are themselves move analogous to the cutting blade on a curve that is determined by the swinging section of the cutting blade. As a result, the freedom of design for these institutions is severely limited because with the required for the promotion of the printed products on the cutting table facilities no collisions may occur.
The invention has for its object to dissipate the cutting edges resulting from the cutting of printed products in particular those of the front section continuously and without jamming from the cutting area.
The object is achieved according to the invention with the features of

On the front side, the pages of a printed
