  • the stemless chamber is emptied and the stem-traversed chamber is filled. This causes excessive oil (equal to the volume of the stem) which must be returned into the tank. This is possible only through a not completely closed by-pass valve. In the contrary case, overpressures are observed upon suction which tend to 'suffocate' the pump and slow down the actuator in an anomalous manner.
  • the setting of the by-pass valve must therefore allow for this fact and it is not possible for example to take advantage of the maximum thrust of the operator, which would be useful especially with very heavy gates.
  • the setting of the by-pass valve becomes very delicate and a slight unsetting thereof, always possible especially under onerous outside conditions (for example high thermal changes), compromises the regular operation of the operator, causing jerking and blocking of the movement under load.
  • US-A-4,343,153 discloses a trim and tilt system for outboard drives on small boats, wherein a circuit arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1 is provided.

  • Each cutoff valve 19, 20 is realized with a one-way valve releasable in the opposite direction through a piloting inlet 21, 22 controlled by the inlet pressure to the other cutoff valve.

  • this overpressure is brought back to the suction valve 15, which is set to be unblocked by said overpressure so as to allow the excess oil arriving from the chamber 11a of the hydraulic cylinder (along the left-hand branch of the circuit) to flow into the tank through the valve 15.
  • valve 15 behaves instead like a normal one-way suction valve since the pressure in the right-hand branch of the circuit is no longer sufficient to control release of the valve 14 appropriately set. Indeed, the right-hand branch of the circuit is now the one of return and no longer of delivery. In this step, the valve 15 only allows passage of the oil from the tank to the circuit to compensate for the volume of the stem.
  • the piloted suction valve 15 allows a more satisfactory operation of the actuator in allowing return of the excess oil to the tank independently of the adjustment of the by-passes, whose setting thus influences only the adjustment of the force of the actuator.
  • the by-pass valves are set for an opening pressure safely higher than the commanded opening overpressure of the suction valve 15.
  • FIG 2 shows practical realization of the valve 15.

  • the piloting system is completely deactivated since in the duct 24 there is not sufficient pressure to move the piston 31 and move the ball 27 in opening.
  • the valve works this way as a normal one-way valve allowing only passage of the oil from the tank to the circuit to compensate for the stem volume.
  • valve described can be easily integrated in a monobloc valve unit containing all the hydraulic circuitry of the handling system so as to have a strong and not cumbersome system. Using molding plastic for the valve of FIG 2 (except possible the small piston) this is a very economical device.
  • the device offers a series of considerable advantages compared with a complexity moderately higher than a normal suction valve. First of all it allows high quickening of the opening step (that is, of return of the stem) which now uses approximately the same time as the closing step.

Claims (4)

  1. Système pour la manipulation de grilles et similaires comprenant un actionneur hydraulique double effet (11) avec une tige traversant une (11b) de ses chambres et un circuit (14) pour l'alimentation d'huile contrôlée, qui déplace alternativement l'huile entre les chambres d'actionneur (11a, 11b) pour un mouvement "d'ouverture" ou "de fermeture", avec le circuit qui comprend une pompe (13) pour le transfert de l'huile entre les chambres par le biais de vannes unidirectionnelles à coupure pilotée (19, 20), un réservoir d'huile (12) et deux vannes d'aspiration unidirectionnelles (15, 16) connectée chacune entre le réservoir (12) et un des deux côtés de la pompe (13) pour permettre l'aspiration d'huile manquante à partir du réservoir, la vanne d'aspiration (15) connectée sur le côté de la pompe correspondant à la chambre d'actionneur (11a) non traversée par la tige étant une vanne unidirectionnelle commandée avec une entrée de commande (24) connectée de manière à être ouverte par une surpression dans la branche de circuit hydraulique qui est destinée à alimenter la chambre d'actionneur (11b) traversée par la tige de manière à permettre, par le biais de ladite vanne unidirectionnelle commandée (15), l'évacuation de l'huile en excès dans le réservoir (12) durant un mouvement de l'actionneur qui est provoqué par le transfert de l'huile de la chambre sans tige (11a) à la chambre (11b) contenant la tige, caractérisé en ce que la vanne unidirectionnelle commandée (15) comprend une coupure formée par une bille de fermeture (27) poussée pour fermer par un ressort (28) et un piston de commande (31) déplacé par une pression de fluide au niveau de l'entrée de commande (24) pour se déplacer axialement, contre l'action d'un ressort d'opposition (29), pour pousser la bille de fermeture (27) vers la position ouverte de coupure.
  2. Système selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite vanne d'aspiration commandée (15) a une entrée de commande (24) connectée entre la pompe (13) et la vanne de coupure (20) connectée à la chambre (11b) contenant la tige.
  3. Système selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'entre chaque côté de la pompe (13) et le réservoir (12) est connectée une vanne de dérivation respective (17, 18) pour évacuer l'huile dans le réservoir, laquelle est réglée pour une pression d'ouverture supérieure à la surpression d'ouverture contrôlée de la vanne unidirectionnelle commandée (15).
  4. Système selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'entre les deux chambres (11a, 11b) de l'actionneur et le réservoir (12) est prédisposé un robinet d'évacuation (23) pour permettre la manipulation manuelle de l'actionneur.
