Abstract

The inventive coloured hollow profiles, such as window profiles made of thermoplastic plastic which are exposed to direct sunlight, are heated under unfavourable conditions to such an extent that the profiles become deformed. The inventive hollow profile made of thermoplastic material has an outer side and an inner side and at least one hollow chamber which is adjacent to the outer side, whereby the wall of the hollow chamber which is adjacent to the outer side of hollow chamber profile is made of a first thermoplastic A and at least one other wall of the hollow chamber profile is made of a different thermoplastic B. The thermoplastic A has a Vicat softening temperature, which is measured according to DIN EN ISO 306 (B50), which is greater than at least 5 K in relation to the thermoplastic B. The inventive hollow chamber profiles are used, in particular, in the production of dark-coloured windows and doors.

Description

Beschreibungdescription
Hohlkammerprofil aus thermoplastischem KunststoffHollow chamber profile made of thermoplastic material
The invention relates to a hollow chamber profile made of thermoplasti¬ plastic and its use for windows and doors.
Technisches GebietTechnical area
Hollow-chamber profiles made of thermoplastic material are used extensively for the production of plastic windows and plastic doors. These profiles are predominantly made by extrusion from rigid PVC (PVC-U). As a rule, they have a plurality of hollow chambers, which are separated from one another by inner webs.
Most of the plastic windows are made in white. For aesthetic reasons, however, increasingly plastic windows are used, which are colored at least on their outside or provided with a decor.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Zur Herstellung farbiger Hohlkammerprofile sind insbesondere folgende Verfahren bekannt : - Einsatz durchgefärbter PVC-Massen;For the production of colored hollow chamber profiles, the following processes are known in particular: Use of through-colored PVC compounds;
Farbige Lackierungen;Colored coatings;
Aufbringen einer Färb- oder Dekorfolie auf die Außenseite des extrudierten Profils,-Applying a color or decorative film to the outside of the extruded profile,

(PMMA-Coextrusionsverfahren, siehe DE 26 05 325 Al,(PMMA coextrusion process, see DE 26 05 325 A1,
DE 2 246 497 Al) ;DE 2 246 497 A1);
B. gemäß der DE 100 02 658 Al.Clipping on colored aluminum front covers on the Außen¬ side, z. B. according to DE 100 02 658 Al.
In all the mentioned methods - with the exception of the Aluminiumblen¬ - heating up especially in dark colors the Son¬ nenlicht exposed outer side of the profile so high that the softening temperature of the PVC used or its Vicat softening temperature at about 8O 0 C is approximately reached or even exceeded. The consequence of this is a distortion of the window due to released stresses of the profiles or the weakening of the static properties as a result of drastic lowering of the modulus of elasticity, in particular in the corner region of the window.
The use of clipped-on colored aluminum trim panels is relatively complicated, since the manufacture of the aluminum facing panels must be carried out separately from the plastic profiles and requires a higher manufacturing accuracy of the window manufacturer. In addition, the different thermal expansion behavior of the materials used, in particular in the corner or Gehrungs¬ area lead to problems.
Der Einsatz von Infrarot-reflektierenden Pigmenten ist auch aus der DE 2 247 980 Al für durchgefärbte Profile bekannt .DE 26 05 325 Al proposes to limit the temperature problem in colored profiles for the window and Türher- position to use in the coextruded thin cover layer of PMMA special infrared-reflective pigments. These infrared-reflective pigments are insufficiently available in the market in terms of color, light and temperature resistance. The use of infrared-reflecting pigments is also known from DE 2 247 980 A1 for through-colored profiles.
From DE 296 20 249 Ul a Holkammerprofil is known in which the entire outer wall is made transparent to allow the Absoption of the incident light to take place on the inner wall of the profile, so that a targeted heating of the profile inside is effected. Naturally, profiles with a colored outer wall can not be produced.
Darstellung der ErfindungOBJECT It is an object of the present invention to provide hollow-chamber profiles which are suitable for the production of windows and doors with a colored outer side, without an inadmissibly high heating of the profiles occurring upon irradiation with sunlight. Presentation of the invention
The invention solves this problem by a hollow chamber profile made of thermoplastic material having an outer side and an inner side and at least one adjacent to the outside of the hollow chamber, said adjacent to the outside of the hollow chamber wall of the hollow chamber made of a first thermopla¬-plastic A and at least one other wall of the hollow chamber profile is formed from another thermoplastic synthetic material B, and wherein the thermoplastic synthetic material A has a Vicat softening temperature which is at least 5 K higher, measured according to DIN EN ISO 306 (B50), than the thermoplastic polymer B. Outside wall is the wall of the hollow chamber or the hollow chamber profile, which is at least partially exposed to direct sunlight when used as intended, in a window profile so in the finished window to the building outside facing profile page.
Im Gegensatz zu dem bekannten PMMA-Coextrusionsverfahren, bei dem eine relativ dünne PMMA-Schicht mit einem Grundprofil ausIn contrast to the known PMMA coextrusion process in which a relatively thin PMMA layer with a base profile of
PVC-U coextrudiert wird und bei dem der tragende Teil derPVC-U is coextruded and in which the main part of the
Es ist jedoch möglich, auch ein erfindungsgemäßesProfile outer wall made of PVC-U is made in the inventive hollow chamber profile of the supporting part of the outer wall of the higher heat-resistant thermoplastic material A. However, it is also possible, an inventive
Hollow chamber profile outside to be additionally provided with a film or to co-extrude with an additional layer, since even in these cases, the supporting portion of the outer wall of the higher heat-resistant thermoplastic material A is.
Preferably, the hollow chamber profiles according to the invention are used for producing a plastic window or a plastic door, wherein the outer walls of the hollow chamber profiles are at least partially exposed to direct sunlight when installed. The invention takes into account that the outer wall of the profile exposed to the solar radiation can considerably warm up. However, since this outer wall consists of a material - the plastic A - which has an increased heat resistance due to its higher Vicat softening temperature, the risk of distortion of the profile is considerably reduced. Since only a relatively small proportion of the cross-section consists of the plastic A, it can also consist of a higher-priced material without the total material costs being excessively increased.
At the same time, all the other walls and the inner webs of the profile - ie by far the largest part of the cross section - from the plastic with lower heat resistance - usually the low-priced PVC-U - exist, as these areas are not exposed to direct sunlight and thus the temperature load significantly below the Vicat softening temperature of this material. Since, however, this material generally has the better mechanical properties and excellent weldability, the material properties of this material predominantly determine the overall properties of the finished profile.
The invention thus synergistically combines the advantages of both materials in that only the areas subject to high temperatures-the outer wall-consist of the material with increased heat distortion resistance and the other regions consist of standard material.
The outer wall can in particular be painted, laminated with a colored film and / or also colored through or colored in some other way. The outer wall is thus not transparent, but reflects a part of the auftref¬ fenden light, while the largest part is absorbed. It is within the invention if all Außenwan¬ tions of the profile according to the invention are colored. Furthermore, it is within the present invention, when the outer wall of the higher temperature-resistant material A, an additional coextruded coating, in particular of colored PMMA. Although the wall of the material which is more susceptible to high temperatures under the colored outer layer heats up when exposed to sunlight, this is not critical due to its increased Vicat softening temperature.
The first thermoplastic material A is preferably selected from the group consisting of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylic ester copolymer (ASA), post-chlorinated PVC (PVC-C), SAN, HIPS, MABS , S / B / S, PC, PMMA, mixtures of these polymers with each other and mixtures of one or more of these polymers with PVC-U, with ABS, ASA and PVC-C being particularly preferred. The thermoplastic material B is preferably rigid PVC (PVC-U). While PVC-U has a Vicat softening temperature, measured according to DIN EN ISO 306 (B50), of about 8O 0 C, the Vicat softening temperature, measured according to DIN EN ISO 306 (B50), of ASA and that of ABS at about 100 0 C. Particularly preferred for the thermoplastic material A ABS and ASA used.
The thermoplastic material A preferably has a Vicat softening temperature which is at least 15 K higher, measured in accordance with DIN EN ISO 306 (B50), than the thermoplastic synthetic material B. The thermoplastic synthetic material A particularly preferably has a Vicat softening temperature of 95 to 110 0 C, while the Vicat softening temperature of the thermoplastic material B is between 75 and 85 0 C.
Particularly preferably, the hollow chamber profile according to the invention is produced by coextrusion of the first thermoplastic material A with the thermoplastic material B. However, it is basically within the invention if the hollow chamber profile extruded with all walls and webs - with the exception of the outer wall - made of the thermoplastic material B and the outer wall separately from the thermoplastic material A and then both by welding, clipping o. The like. be connected to a hollow chamber profile. The coextrusion of two thermoplastic materials is known in the art, see, for. B. Walter Michaeli, Extrusion Tools for Plastics and Kau¬ chuk, 2nd edition 1991, Chapter 6. The nozzle tool must be adjusted with respect to the flow channels to the specific flow properties of the melts at the extrusion temperature.
It has surprisingly been found that the calibration devices which are required in the case of hollow profile extrusion and are connected downstream of the extrusion die can generally be taken over unchanged in comparison with the extrusion with a uniform synthetic material. Thus, it is possible, with the same caliber, both a hollow chamber profile, which was extruded entirely from PVC-U, as well as a profile consisting of PVC-U and an outer wall of z. B. ASA is to calibrate. Both profiles then have the same outer and inner contour and can therefore be further processed in a system with the same connection profiles, connectors, etc., which means a high saving in storage, logistics and costs for the processor. Also, the profiles according to the invention can usually be sawn and welded on the same standard machines.
The advantages of the invention are particularly useful when the hollow chamber profiles are colored dark on the outside, painted or foiled. "Dark" in the sense of this invention is a color that absorbs more than 50%, preferably more than 60% of the vertically incident sunlight, including the relevant IR range.

Das Hohlkammerprofil 1 wurde im Coextrusionsverfahren herge¬ stellt.The hollow chamber profile 1 was produced by the coextrusion process.
The outer wall 4 is colored dark brown in the mass and additionally provided from the outside with a dark brown Holzde- kor-film (not shown separately in Fig. 1). All other walls are white.
LegendeIn Fig. 2 is a section through a finished window 9 with two wing frame 10 and a post 11 is shown in section. Reference symbol 12 symbolically denotes the sunlight, while 13 denotes the interior of the room. The hatched outer walls shown are made of thermoplastic ASA with a Vicat softening temperature of 100 0 C, while all other Wandun¬ gene and webs made of hard PVC. By irradiation by sunlight 12, the dark brown colored Außen¬ wall of the profile heats up to a temperature of up to 8O 0 C. This would erwei¬ sen in PVC-U as unacceptable temperature stress, while the inventively used higher heat resistant permanent ASA in this Temperature still has sufficient strength and modulus of elasticity.
