Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a mechanical timepiece equipped with a device for adjusting the play of a rotating wheel, in particular of the play of a balance wheel.
  • the adjustment of the balance axis of the frog is made by adjusting the height of the board of the pendulum bridge.
  • three adjusting screws are provided at the periphery of the clamping screw.
  • the three adjustment screws pass through the base of the bridge and rest against the side of the plate against three other complementary screws thus defining three points of support for the three adjustment screws.
  • the watchmaker who adjusts the balance of the balance must act on the three adjustment screws by turning them successively and repeatedly until the board reaches a height defining a correct frog for the pendulum.
  • three adjustment screws increase the cost of this timepiece and their arrangement at the periphery of the clamping screw requires relatively large dimensions for the base of the bridge. This poses a problem for the design of the watch movement and in particular for the arrangement of the balance bridge.
  • the balance bridge is of the double type, that is to say having two bases arranged at both ends of the bridge board and for fixing the balance bridge rigidly on both sides. other bearing arranged substantially in the center of the board.
  • the two bases are respectively fixed to the plate by two clamping screws.
  • Each of the two clamping screws is screwed inside a cylinder driven into the plate. This cylinder has inside a tapping for the clamping screw and an external thread for an adjusting nut.
  • the two bases of the balance bridge are held in abutment against the two nuts by the two clamping screws.
  • a friction spring formed by an elastically deformable washer is provided under the nut so as to maintain the position thereof when not actuated by a watchmaker.
  • the two clamping screws are respectively provided at the periphery of the two respective bases so as to allow the adjusting nuts which have splines to rotate on the outer lateral surface to facilitate their actuation with the aid of a suitable tool and thus the adjusting the balance of the balance.
  • the balance control system of a balance described above has certain disadvantages. Firstly it is relatively complex and expensive. Indeed, this system comprises two cylindrical parts, with an internal thread and an external thread, which must be driven into the plate. In addition, this system includes two fluted adjusting nuts. Then, to allow adjustment of the height of the bridge board with the balance in place, it is necessary to provide the clamping screws on the outer edge of the two bases and to provide a free space at the periphery of the two clamping screws to allow an access to the adjusting nuts coming out laterally below the bases. This adjustment system is therefore relatively complicated and limits the possibilities of arranging the balance bridge in the watch movement.
  • the document FR 1.545.748 discloses a timepiece with a double-type balance bridge associated with means for adjusting the balance of the balance by deformation of the board of this bridge. At one end of the balance bridge are arranged means for adjusting the height of this end relative to the plate. The end of the bridge comprises an inclined bottom surface associated with an eccentric bearing against this inclined surface. This eccentric is mounted on a pin and a fixing screw of the end of the bridge is located next to this pin. This system is relatively bulky. Then, the pin and the fixing screw are both visible on the surface of the bridge. Finally, the angular position of the eccentric is not guaranteed by this system because it can turn quite easily, especially during a sudden movement or shock.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a device for adjusting the play of a mobile rotating in a timepiece, in particular a balance, which is relatively inexpensive and to adjust the frolicking of the mobile turning of effectively, without increasing the size of the bridge considered or limit the layout of its peripheral region.
  • the present invention relates to a mechanical timepiece, equipped with a rotating wheel which comprises an axis or shaft whose end pivots in a first bearing carried by a bridge and the another end pivots in a second bearing arranged in a plate, this timepiece comprising means for adjusting the frust of this axis or rotating shaft of the mobile.
  • the adjustment means comprise at least one element for adjusting the distance between a base of the considered bridge and the plate, this adjustment element being pierced at its center for the passage of a clamping screw and operable through a hole passing through said base, said clamping screw being introduced into this through hole for fixing this base with said plate.
  • the clamping screw is removed to allow access to the adjusting member which is actuated from the upper face of said bridge opposite said platen.
  • the adjusting member is constituted by a set screw arranged to allow the variation of the distance between the base and the plate by screwing or unscrewing the adjusting screw.
  • the adjusting screw is screwed into the bridge and the clamping screw is screwed into the plate.
  • the adjusting screw has a first end bearing against the plate and its second end has a shape adapted to a tool for rotating from said upper face of the bridge in question.
  • a mechanical timepiece 2 equipped with a rotating wheel and comprising a device for adjusting the fret of this rotating wheel according to the present invention.
  • the bridge in this embodiment is a pendulum bridge 4 and the rotating mobile is a pendulum 6.
  • the balance 6 comprises an axis whose first end pivots in a first bearing carried by the board 10 of the balance bridge .
  • the first bearing is arranged in an opening of a bolt carrier 8 with a bumper device known to those skilled in the art.
  • the bolt carrier 8 rests on the central seat 12 of the bridge 4.
  • the second end of the axis of the balance pivots in a second bearing arranged in a plate 14 of the timepiece 2.
  • the balance bridge 4 is a double bridge formed of two bases 16 and 18 respectively arranged on one side and the other of the board 10 and therefore the first bearing arranged in the central portion 20 of this bridge.
  • the bridge 4 comprises two areas of least mechanical strength respectively arranged at the two end regions of the board 10, that is to say between the two bases 16 and 18 respectively and the central portion 20 carrying the first bearing for the axis of the balance.
  • balance of the equilibrium control means which are formed on the one hand by a screw 30 which fixed the base 16 to the plate 14 rigidly leaving the base in a relatively fixed position to this plate, in support against this last one.
  • the second base 18 of the bridge 4 is associated with a means of deformation of the bridge 4 which is constituted by a screw 34 of relatively large diameter and pierced at its center.
  • This adjusting screw 34 defines an element for adjusting the distance between the base 18 of the bridge 4 and the plate 14. It comprises a flat head 36 provided with a slot for screwing this screw from the lower part of the bridge.
  • the adjusting screw 34 further comprises a cylinder 38 having a fine pitch external thread so as to be able to finely vary the distance between the external surface 37 of the head 36 bearing against the plate 14 and the lower surface 5 of the bridge 4.
  • the hole 40 which passes through the screw 34 has a diameter greater than that of the clamping screw 32 so that it can be introduced freely into this through hole 40.
  • the screw 34 is screwed into a hole 42 passing through the base 18 of the bridge 4.
  • the hole 42 has an enlargement in the upper part of the base 18 with a substantially flat annular surface and serving as a stop at the head of the clamping screw 32
  • This screw 32 is screwed at its lower end into the plate 14 to secure the base 18 to the plate 14.
  • the adjusting screw 34 has at its upper end opposite to the head 36 an upper annular portion having two diametrically opposed slots 44 and arranged to allow a screwdriver to be inserted to turn this adjusting screw 34 from the upper face 46 of the bridge in the opposite direction. absence of the clamping screw 32, as is apparent in particular from figures 4 and 6 .
  • a friction spring in the form of a curved washer 48 is arranged between the head 36 of the screw 34 and the bottom surface 5 of the base 18. To ensure positioning of this base 18 in the general plane of the watch movement 2, a positioning pin 50 is provided.
  • the adjustment screw 34 By turning the adjustment screw 34, the relative position between the base 18 and the plate 14 is varied since the lower surface 37 of the head 36 rests on this plate. To adjust the height of the base 18, the clamping screw 32 will be removed so that adjustment can be made from the upper surface 46. of bridge 4 through the through opening 42. To do this, the watchmaker will maintain for example with the aid of a suitable tool the screw 34 bearing against the plate 14 if necessary. Since the base 16 is fixed to the plate in an invariable position, an actuation of the adjusting screw 34 causes a deformation of the bridge 4 in the embodiment of the figure 1 .
  • the adjustment screw 34 By actuating the adjustment screw 34, the distance between the base 18 and the plate 14 is varied and the plate 10 is deformed so that its central zone 20, where the upper bearing is located for the axis of the balance, is subjected to also a displacement thus allowing the adjustment of the play of this balance.
  • the board 10 comprises at its two end portions two zones of lesser mechanical resistance which each define a zone of localized deformation or flexible articulation between the two bases 16 and 18. These zones make it possible to reduce overall the tensions generated. in the balance bridge 4 when the base 18 is displaced in height relative to the base 16. Thus, the adjustment of the balance of the balance can generate here a certain inclination of the central portion 20 of the board 10, but this inclination remains weak.
  • the embodiment described above is remarkable in that the adjustment of the balance of the balance or a rotating mobile is achieved by means of deformation of the bridge concerned, the deformation means being arranged to be actuated by the variation of the position of a single adjustment element 34. Then, this variation can be performed from the upper face of the bridge associated with the rotating wheel whose frost is set.
  • the coaxial arrangement of the clamping screw 32 and the adjusting screw 34 according to the present invention does not increase the overall size of the bridge and does not require any clearance at the periphery thereof.
  • the mounting of the lightening adjustment device is easily performed by simply screwing the adjusting screw 34 from the lower face 5 of the bridge 4 until its head is about a certain height. Then, the bridge can be assembled to the plate with the rocker mounted in the two bearings associated with it. Then, the equilibrium of the balance (or of another mobile rotating) can be adjusted simply by turning the screw 34 with the slot 44 provided at its upper end opposite the head 36, this upper end being accessible by a tool from the upper face 46 of the bridge through the opening 42 through the base 18. Once the adjustment is made, the screw 32 is inserted into the through hole 40 of the adjusting screw 34 and tightened so as to rigidly fix the base 18 to the plate 14. The spring washer 48 maintains a set screw 34 in the intended position. Once the adjustment of the distance between the two levels finely done by means of the adjustment screw 34, the height adjustment system of the bridge 4 is masked and the bridge is firmly fixed to the plate.
  • the present invention can also be applied to a watch movement equipped with a vortex and in which the vortex of the tourbillon cage is adjusted by means of the device of the present invention associated with the tourbillon bridge carrying a two bearings in which rotates the vortex cage.
  • FIG 6 a sectional view of a second embodiment of a timepiece equipped with means for adjusting the balance of the balance
  • This embodiment differs from the first embodiment of the invention.
  • figure 1 in that it comprises two adjustment devices 34 according to the present invention respectively associated with the two bases 16 and 18 of the bridge 54.
  • the relative distance between each of the bases 16 and 18 and the plate 14 can be finely adjusted to using the device 34 associated with each base.
  • This second embodiment makes it possible to adjust the play of the balance 6 while keeping the board 10 horizontal, that is to say parallel to the general plane of the watch movement.
  • the rocker 6 has an axis 56 whose two ends pivot respectively in the bearings 58 and 60.
  • Pins or positioning pins of the bridge 54 may advantageously be provided, these pins or pins being inserted into corresponding holes of the plate 14. L height adjustment of each of the two bases 16 and 18 can be performed from the upper face 46 of the balance bridge 54. The adjustment device formed of the screw 34 associated with the screw 32 will not be described again here in detail .
  • the balance bridge 64 comprises a single base 18.
  • the base 18 is associated with a device for adjusting the distance between this base and the plate 14 of the type described above.
  • the adjusting screw 34 has a head 36 of relatively large diameter to ensure proper seating of the bridge 64 on the plate 14. Because the clamping screw 32 is coaxial with the adjusting screw 34, it is it is possible to fix the bridge 64 rigidly to the plate 14 and to keep the board 70 of this bridge 64 substantially horizontal. By screwing or unscrewing the screw 34 while the screw 32 is not in place, it is possible to precisely adjust the distance between the two bearings 58 and 60 and thus obtain an optimal clearance for the balance 6.
