Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for coating a network, in particular for sports and leisure, and a network, in particular a volleyball net, football net, tennis net, ball net or other protective net, which is produced by this method, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the material in particular polyester or polyamide, from which the net threads are made, is not absorbent and has such a surface finish that the printing inks or spray paints commonly used for printing objects adhere to it very poorly.
  • a method for coating a network in particular for the sports and leisure sector, which comprises a network body with a multiplicity of stitches bounded by net threads, and wherein the net threads in a region of the net body defining the optically visible character, is characterized
  • Coating material, in particular flock is applied, characterized in that the network body first on a particular smooth and / or even surface, eg on a flat plate.
  • the network body e.g. is wound on a cylinder jacket-shaped peripheral surface of a drum or the like.
  • the net threads are aligned on the surface in such a way that the mesh surface bounded by the net threads of a mesh-which defines the transparent surface for the players and spectators-reduced in relation to the mesh surface of the net in the unfolded state becomes.
  • this can preferably be effected by successively displacing, for example, the horizontal grid rows starting from a corner point of the grid by a fixed amount, for example by 10% or 50% of the mesh width relative to one another.
  • the network rows are in this case essentially shifted by the amount of mesh size in the direction of displacement to each other so that the net threads of a network row aligned almost immediately parallel to each other so that the mesh area becomes zero.
  • the alignment of the net threads on the surface can take place by applying a tensile force to the mesh body in the direction of the diagonal of the stitches acts.
  • the tensile force has such a size that the net threads over their basic length Be stretched out, so that the diameter of the aligned threads against the threads of the unfolded network, for example is reduced by 5% or more.
  • the net threads oriented in the manner described above can, according to a further embodiment of the invention, be applied to the surface e.g. by suction or by adhesive - for example, a pressure-activatable, reusable adhesive such as e.g. is used by the company. 3M in a known manner on sticky notes - be fixed.
  • coating material is then applied to the net threads oriented in the previously described manner, wherein the coating material can be applied directly to the net threads or can be connected to them indirectly via a carrier medium.
  • the coating material which in this case especially flock, dyed powder material or the like is glued to the net threads, wherein after the application of the adhesive, the coating material is preferably applied only to the wetted with adhesive part of the mesh body.
  • the adhesive e.g. a commercially available and adapted to the material of the network two-component liquid adhesive for plastics, such as an epoxy resin or a cyanate adhesive or other suitable adhesive may be colored according to the preferred embodiment of the invention in the color of the sign to be produced, thereby a high color fidelity results, and when spraying the adhesive on a network with dark net threads the complete wetting of the just sprayed net threads can be checked very easily visually.
  • the coating material can be applied directly to the net threads using heat.
  • This can be done for example by one of the known thermographic printing process, preferably by a Thermosublinations réelleclar, directly on the net threads, which in this context preferably made of polyester or nylon, which - as the Applicants have found - in Thermosublinations réelle in an excellent manner and with a very high adhesion resistance of the applied Thermosublinationsmaschine can perform.
  • the net threads hereby advantageously have a white color, as a result of which the characters produced in the thermosubling print can be found to be particularly rich in contrast.
  • other network colors are conceivable.
  • the net threads may have a rectangular, for example quadrangular cross-sectional shape, whereby the threads can be arranged particularly well and close to the printing or coating side by side.
  • oval cross-sections are conceivable, which can be compensated by applying a compressive force to flatten the folded net threads during coating, the resulting between the net threads wells in an advantageous manner.
  • the application of the adhesive and / or the coating material is preferably carried out with the aid of a template by screen printing, by knife coating or by a computer-controlled printing or spraying - similar to an inkjet printer.
  • the adhesive and / or the coating material is preferably applied only in the area which defines the character in the tensioned network, although it is also possible to apply the adhesive to a larger portion of the network body, or even on the entire network body, while the net threads are aligned on the surface.
  • the coating material is preferably fiber material which has a fiber length in the range between 0.2 mm and 4 mm, in particular between 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm.
  • a mixture of fiber material of different lengths may be advantageous.
  • a clearly perceptible intensification of the optical color impression as well as the contrast to the net threads, or against the background, before the network arranged will be achieved.
  • first pass it is possible in a first pass to use fibrous material with a length of e.g. 1 mm and in a second pass fiber material with a length of e.g. 0.5 mm, which in particular for larger areas, the spaces between the longer fibers are filled, whereby the density of the fiber material on the surface of the net threads and thus increases the color intensity.
  • the length of the fiber material used is preferably selected as a function of the thread thickness or the thread diameter of the net threads, wherein it has been shown that visually appealing characters result when the ratio of thread thickness to flock length is in the range between 0.2 to 50 , 0 is in particular 2.5 to 8.0.
  • Particularly suitable materials here are rayon and polyester, but also the use of cotton or other material such as colored plastic powder, is possible.
  • a particularly advantageous flocking can be achieved here with a fiber material having a fineness in the range between 3 DTex and 10 DTex.
  • the coating material is positively charged, for example, and accelerated by an oppositely charged electrode arranged on the opposite side of the mesh, wherein the coating material follows the field lines of the electrostatic field in the case of flock / fiber material and only the tips of the fiber material in the previously applied to the net threads Dip the adhesive layer and connect with the net threads.
  • flock material results in particular in the networks used in sports of polyamide, nylon, Perlon, polyethylene or polyester material with a diameter of the net threads of eg 0.5 to 10 mm and a mesh size in the range of 4.5 cm, for example, a spatial visual impression, which makes the displayed logos, numbers or letters particularly attractive for the viewer, and which also leads to highly visible images when taken by television cameras.
  • the mesh sizes commonly used in sports nets for catching balls are generally at least 18 mm (Badmintonnetze) for the players, or viewers the viewing through the networks continue to ensure in such a way that for the athletes / spectators concerned no visual impairments occur.
  • the coating of the net threads can be accomplished by spraying a colored, self-foaming plastic material and curing it, e.g. by irradiation with UV light.
  • the plastic material here is preferably a self-foaming plastic material that has long been used for items of clothing, which is usually printed on caps, T-shirts and jackets, etc., by screen printing to produce a spatial structure.
  • foam coating material which adheres independently on the net threads without the addition of adhesive, the application of the adhesive and the coating is of course carried out in one and the same process step.
  • the region in which the coating material is applied to the preferably parallel and juxtaposed net threads can be converted by a coordinate transformation in the region of the network, which defines the optically visible character on the spanned network later.
  • the coordinate transformation here is preferably a linear displacement, in particular in conjunction with a rotation of the original coordinates of the network, which may be defined in particular by the nodes of the meshes.
  • the area in which the coating material is applied to the aligned net threads is limited by a recessed area of the stencil whose Shape and / or size is determined as a function of the distortion of the mesh of the mesh body in the aligned state of the net threads against the mesh of the net body in the unfolded state of the network.
  • the shape of the transformed character on the aligned net threads can also be obtained empirically by first marking the vertices of the original logo / character on the spanned mesh body, and then the mesh body e.g. is transferred by applying a tensile force at the end points in the position in which the net threads are aligned and coated. Subsequently, the shape of the transformed logo / character can then be removed and transferred to a template.
  • the shape and size of the transformed region in which the coating material is applied to the aligned net threads are preferably selected such that this region in the state of the tensioned net substantially corresponds to the region defining the optically visible label.
  • the transformed area in which the coating material is applied to the aligned net threads is greater than the area occupied by the sign / logo on the opened net.
  • monochrome, in particular white, coating material, and the optically visible symbol / logo e.g. subsequently by coloring the coating material applied to the net threads, e.g. can be done by printing the aligned net threads by means of a printing device, in particular an ink jet printer, or by manual spraying with spray paint.
  • the gesarnte network body can preferably be coated on one side.
  • the ratio of character size ie the length and / or width of a character
  • the characters particularly preferably have a size of 70 cm, which corresponds to a ratio of 15.5: 1.
  • the ratio of character size and mesh size can also be larger, and e.g. for very large ball nets, which are several meters high, are in the range of 150: 1 or larger.
  • the thickness of the layer of coating material applied by electrostatic flocking layer of coating material - depending on the mesh size of the network - preferably in a range between 10% and 600% of the thickness of the original net threads.
  • the thickness of the applied coating material amounts to a total of about 125% of the thickness of the original net threads, results in a high flexibility of the net threads and a very high resistance of the thickening material against mechanical abrasion.
  • the coating material and / or the adhesive and thus the mark is applied only on one side of the mesh body, so that the applied sign from the uncoated side is not recognizable. Furthermore, it can be provided that the coating material is applied to both sides of the mesh body in such a way that characters of different shape and / or color and / or size are generated on each side of the mesh body. This results the advantage that can be produced by the method according to the invention networks that have legible words or advertising slogans from both sides of the network body forth.
  • the coating of the network body takes place immediately after the production of the network, preferably before opening the net threads.
  • the production of the nets coated by the method according to the invention can again be designed to be considerably more cost-effective, since a renewed alignment of the net threads in this case is dispensed with.
  • the nets are also suitable as printed hammocks, printed fishing nets or camouflage nets with a correspondingly applied pattern, and it is also conceivable to use the nets on trailers and / or with supports.
  • a net 1 produced by the method according to the invention comprises a net body 2 which has a multiplicity of loops 4 formed by net threads 6, and bounded by the example vertices A, B, C and D.
  • an optically visible character or logo 8 is applied in the form of an "F", which is produced by coating in particular flocking the net threads 6 in the associated region 10 with coating material, in particular flock.
  • Fig. 2 schematically indicated surface 12, and applied, for example, at the vertices A and C indicated by the arrows 16, 18 traction, such that the tensioned net 1 from the side AB to the side DC extending net threads 6 to substantially a mesh size or mesh length, and - as in Fig. 2 shown - substantially parallel to each other, so that the surfaces of the transparent regions 14 of the mesh 4 with respect to the unfolded network 1 (FIG. Fig. 1 ) are reduced.
  • the distorted or transformed region 110 corresponding to the region 10 of the logo is coated with adhesive in the transformed region 110 by means of a template, not shown, and then preferably using an electrostatic field which extends through the aligned network threads 6 of the mesh body 2 and the surface 12 extends, flocked in a known manner, or alternatively coated directly with a self-adhesive plastic foam material.
  • Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 can be removed, results from the inventive method the advantage that the height of the spanned network 1, for example, the distance between the points A and B in Fig.1 , Can be reduced from, for example, 8 m to only 0.3 m, so that the space requirements for coating the Netzköpers 2 and also to the same extent to the cost of materials for creating the template are significantly reduced.
  • a network with stitches 4 are printed by the method according to the invention, in which the net threads 6 are not arranged in the clamped state at right angles to each other, as in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 but at an angle of, in particular, 60 ° to one another, so that stitches 4 with a symmetrical hexagonal shape are obtained, which in the in Fig. 4 shown manner for coating by moving the net threads in the in Figure 4 shown position next to each other.
