- a generic goods detection station seen in the direction of goods flow having a plurality of successively arranged trays for scanned goods, a packing space tray can be separated from a storage space arranged in front of a barrier in the form of a flap.
- the object of the invention is to develop the generic goods detection space to the effect that goods between the separable shelves can easily get from one tray to the next.
- the goods detection station which a scanning device for bar-coded labels and - seen in the direction of flow of goods - behind the scanning a belt scale and a plurality of trays for scanned goods comprises, characterized in that the shelves, - again in the direction of flow of goods - arranged in a row one behind the other and are separated by an adjustable barrier of the respective front storage.
- the shelves are bounded below each by a roller conveyor or by a endless conveyor belt.
- Roller conveyors are preferably arranged inclined so that the goods can slide down under the action of gravity. They represent a particularly inexpensive solution.
- endless conveyor belts have the advantage that their orientation gives greater freedom. Since endless conveyor belts are generally driven by a motor, the transport of very light and small goods is ensured.
- each barrier carries a transport roller at its upper end. It is adjustable between one between adjacent shelves upwardly projecting and a submerged between these position, in which the latter is a peripheral portion of the transport roller with the adjacent to them shelves in the same area. The goods can then slip easily from one shelf to the next with the barrier submerged.
- sensors are provided which scan the surfaces of the shelves for the purpose of detecting goods deposited on the shelves. These each serve to control a barrier.
- the sensor is at least one tray designed as a light curtain. This ensures seamless scanning.
- a second sensor preferably designed as a light barrier, is arranged. This checks whether goods are above the transport roller of the barrier. If this is the case, the operation of the barrier is suppressed.
- a goods transport belt is arranged between the belt scale and the first deposit, as seen in the direction of goods flow. This serves the reliable removal of goods from the belt scale, so that the latter is cleared quickly for a next weighing.
- a third sensor for detecting goods located on the goods conveyor belt is arranged on the goods conveyor belt. This is also preferably designed as a light barrier. If the third sensor, after having recognized a product, is not released again within a time determined by the transport speed of the conveyor belt, this is an indication that the first tray is full. Thereafter, the belt scale is stopped and the customer is asked to wait with the detection of the next goods.
- a packing trough connects to the most distant storage of the scanning device.
- the capacity of the aforementioned storage is increased.
- the packing trough may be provided a parking space for a shopping cart or shopping basket. In these, the goods can slide in or be transported immediately after their capture, so that the goods throughput is further increased.
- another barrier is arranged in front of the packing trough, whereby a further storage is provided.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a first goods detection station 10 in a schematic side view, wherein the goods flow direction W extends from left to right.
- the first goods detection station 10 comprises an operating device 12 with a scanning device 14 for bar-coded labels and a display device 16, and - seen in the direction of flow of goods W - behind the scanning device 14, a belt scale 18th
- the belt scale 18 includes a load cell 20 which is disposed below the upper run 22 of a drivable by a first electric motor 26 Endlostransportbandes 24. To the belt scale 18 is followed by a second electric motor 30 drivable endless goods conveyor belt 28 at.

- the transition from the scanning device 14 to the belt scale 18 forms a first safety flap 34 with an integrated proximity switch. This has the task of switching off the first electric motor 26 immediately when a product or the fingers of the customer fall into the gap between the scanning device 14 and the belt scale 18.
- the goods conveyor belt 28 opens with the interposition of a second safety flap 36, again with an integrated proximity switch, in a first tray 38. This is followed by a second tray 40, whose lower part is formed as a packing trough 42.
- the trays 38, 40 are formed as roller conveyors.
- endless conveyor belts can also be used.
- the roller conveyors are inclined away from the operating device 12 downwards. This allows the goods to slide down under the action of gravity. If endless conveyor belts are used, these are driven by a motor. This ensures the transport of very light and small goods.
- a barrier 44 is arranged transversely to the direction of flow of goods W.
- This carries at its upper end a transport roller 46.
- the barrier 44 is located between a submerged between the adjacent trays 38, 40 position ( Fig. 1 ) and an upwardly projecting position ( Fig. 2 ) adjustable.

- the surfaces of the shelves 38, 40 are scanned by sensors 50 and 52 after goods located on the trays 38, 40.
- the signals from the sensors 50, 52 cause the control of the barrier 44.
- the sensors 50, 52 are aligned as surface parallel to the surface of the respective trays 38 and 40, respectively Light curtain formed. This ensures seamless scanning. It is also possible to scan in another way, for example by means of ultrasound or mechanical probe.
- a second sensor 54 preferably designed as a light barrier, is arranged in goods flow direction W immediately behind the barrier 44. This checks whether goods are above the transport roller 46 of the barrier 44. If this is the case, the actuation of the barrier 44 is suppressed.
- a third sensor 56 is arranged for goods located on the goods conveyor belt 28. This is also preferably designed as a light barrier. If the third sensor 56, after having detected a product, does not release again within a time determined by the transport speed of the conveyor belt, this is an indication that the first tray 38 is full. Thereafter, the endless conveyor belt 24 of the belt scale 18 is stopped and the customer is requested to wait to acquire the next product.
- a fourth sensor 58 which serves to control the flow of goods.
- the scanning device 14 is released only for the detection of a next product when the belt scale 18 is empty. This avoids wrong weighing.
- the transition from the belt scale 18 to the goods conveyor belt 28 is a perpendicular to the upper Trumm 22 of the belt scale 18 and the goods flow direction W aligned light curtain 60 is arranged.
- the protective effect is further enhanced by the fact that the light curtain 60 is delimited by a partition 62 at least on the edge facing the customer. This is preferably made of a transparent plastic.
- a self-operated goods detection process with the first goods detection station 10 proceeds as follows: The goods are individually removed from the shopping cart, guided along the scanning device 14 and then deposited on the belt scale 18. The weight information determined from the scanning result and the weighing result of the belt scale 18 are transmitted to the control device 32, which contains a comparator. This compares the weight registered by the belt scale 18 with the weight information from the scanning result of this product. The goods information is further transmitted to a billing system not described in detail here. If the aforementioned weight values agree within a tolerance range, the first electric motor 26 is switched on, as a result of which the goods are transported from the belt scale 18 to the goods conveyor belt 28.
- the first electric motor 26 is not switched on and the customer is prompted by appropriate information on the display device 16 to re-capture the last goods past the scanning device 14 and / or information is given to the supervisor of the goods sales transaction.
- the scanning device 14 is released for the detection of a next product.
- the goods transport belt 28 conveys the last detected goods to the first tray 38, from where it reaches the second tray 40, provided that the barrier 44 is lowered. If all the goods of the first customer on the second shelf 40 have room, after pressing an END button 80, the barrier 44 is raised and a next customer can begin to record his goods. These then collect on the first tray 38. Meanwhile, the first customer can take his goods from the second tray 40 in peace. On the other hand, if the second sensor 54 reports that goods of the first customer are above the lowered barrier 44, ie that not all the goods are stored in the second storage 40, the scanning device 14 is blocked for a second customer. As a result of the removal of goods from the second tray 40, the barrier 44 becomes free at some point, so that this can be raised and the scanner 14 can be released for the second customer. For this, the waiting time is minimized.
- Fig. 3 the storage area 64 of a second goods detection station 10a is shown. This differs from that of the first goods detection place 10 only in that it has three shelves, namely a third shelf 66, a fourth shelf 68 and a fifth shelf 70. Between the third tray 66 and the fourth tray 68, a second barrier 72 and between the fourth tray 68 and the fifth tray 70, a third barrier 74 is disposed. The structure and the control of the second barrier 72 and the third barrier 74 correspond to the barrier 44. In goods flow direction W immediately behind the second barrier 72, a fifth sensor 76 and behind the third barrier 74, a sixth sensor 78 is arranged. The construction and the task of the fifth sensor 76 and the sixth sensor 78 correspond to those of the second sensor 54.
- a storage area 82 of a third goods detection station 10b is shown. This differs from that of the first goods detection place 10 only in that instead of a packing trough it has a parking space 84 for a shopping cart 86. The goods can immediately slide into a provided shopping cart 86. The goods throughput can be increased even further.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a self-operated goods collection point for goods sales transactions with continuous goods flow.
The object of the invention is to develop the generic goods detection space to the effect that goods between the separable shelves can easily get from one tray to the next.
The object is solved by the features of claim 1.
The goods detection station according to the invention, which a scanning device for bar-coded labels and - seen in the direction of flow of goods - behind the scanning a belt scale and a plurality of trays for scanned goods comprises, characterized in that the shelves, - again in the direction of flow of goods - arranged in a row one behind the other and are separated by an adjustable barrier of the respective front storage. When a first customer has completed the collection of his goods, "his" tray is closed by the barrier located at its inlet side. A next customer can start collecting his goods immediately, while the first customer removes his goods "from" his tray. The customers stand with their shopping carts in the same order next to the goods registration center, in which they have also operated or serve them. When the first customer has removed all the goods, the barrier opens and the goods of the second customer slip into the now empty bin. A next customer can start collecting his goods immediately.
The shelves are bounded below each by a roller conveyor or by a endless conveyor belt. Roller conveyors are preferably arranged inclined so that the goods can slide down under the action of gravity. They represent a particularly inexpensive solution. On the other hand, endless conveyor belts have the advantage that their orientation gives greater freedom. Since endless conveyor belts are generally driven by a motor, the transport of very light and small goods is ensured.
According to the invention, each barrier carries a transport roller at its upper end. It is adjustable between one between adjacent shelves upwardly projecting and a submerged between these position, in which the latter is a peripheral portion of the transport roller with the adjacent to them shelves in the same area. The goods can then slip easily from one shelf to the next with the barrier submerged.
In a further development of the invention, sensors are provided which scan the surfaces of the shelves for the purpose of detecting goods deposited on the shelves. These each serve to control a barrier. Preferably the sensor is at least one tray designed as a light curtain. This ensures seamless scanning.
In the direction of flow of goods immediately behind the barrier, a second sensor, preferably designed as a light barrier, is arranged. This checks whether goods are above the transport roller of the barrier. If this is the case, the operation of the barrier is suppressed.
According to a preferred refinement, a goods transport belt is arranged between the belt scale and the first deposit, as seen in the direction of goods flow. This serves the reliable removal of goods from the belt scale, so that the latter is cleared quickly for a next weighing.
In a further development of the invention, a third sensor for detecting goods located on the goods conveyor belt is arranged on the goods conveyor belt.
In further development of the inventive concept, a packing trough connects to the most distant storage of the scanning device. As a result, the capacity of the aforementioned storage is increased. As an alternative to the packing trough may be provided a parking space for a shopping cart or shopping basket. In these, the goods can slide in or be transported immediately after their capture, so that the goods throughput is further increased.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, another barrier is arranged in front of the packing trough, whereby a further storage is provided.
Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following explanation of embodiments in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

The
The transition from the
The
The surfaces of the
In goods flow direction W immediately behind the
At the
At the transition from the
Above the transition from the
A self-operated goods detection process with the first
Powered by the second
