Abstract
Description
The hard material bodies of the aforementioned sandwich scraper are rod-shaped or plate-shaped molded bodies, which preferably consist of sintered or cast corundum. Such sandwich scrapers have proven to be excellent.
In contrast to the above-described Sandwich-Räumleisten provided with carbide cores, full metal scraper American style for German roads is too aggressive. In the usual black clearance in Germany, the carbide edge would damage the asphalt surface. To prevent this, a white clearance would have to take place, at a thin layer of snow is left on the road. However, this does not comply with the specifications of the German winter service.
In addition, the downwardly projecting edge of the carbide core is exposed to impacts unprotected. Thus, there is the danger that a manhole cover or bridge joint projecting only slightly beyond the road surface will butt against the brittle hard metal core and break off parts of it. Aside from these disadvantages, all-steel carbide core scrapers have good wear performance.
Based on the above-described prior art, the present invention seeks to provide a scraper, which is exposed to low wear, has a correspondingly long service life, does not damage the road surface and is also suitable for blackout of the road.
This is achieved with a sandwich scraper of the type mentioned, in which a hard metal core is provided as a hard material body, which is surrounded by a steel shell.
Surprisingly, it has been shown that the hard metal cores used in the scraper strip according to the invention with a steel reinforcement on all sides show a significantly better wear behavior than the corundum hard bodies previously used successfully. This can be explained by the fact that the brittle corundum, in spite of the damping rubber body, is exposed to blows which cause parts of the hard material body to break out. This is especially true for the border areas between rubber and corundum.
The shock-sensitive edges of the hard metal, however, are protected in the sandwich scraper strip according to the invention of the tough steel casing, which in turn is surrounded by the damping rubber body. First test bench tests show that the mileage of a sandwich scraper according to the invention is considerably higher than a conventional sandwich scraper with a corundum hard body.
Unlike full steel scraper bars, the asphalt surface of sandwich scraper bars with hard metal core according to the invention is not appreciably damaged.
Of course, the hard metal core must be firmly anchored in the steel shell. This can be non-positively - such as by shrinking - and / or cohesively - such as by soldering - done.
However, a further advantage of the use according to the invention of a steel jacket is better heat distribution. The rubbing of the carbide core on the asphalt produces a lot of heat, which is transferred from the steel to the rubber via large surface areas. As a result, local overheating of the rubber is avoided, resulting in significantly less wear than when directly embedding hard metal cores in the rubber.
Carbides are comparatively expensive materials. The cost of the sandwich scraper can be significantly reduced by using carbide cores made from recycled carbide. This is processed waste material from worn tools of machining. Thus, for example, carbide inserts that are used in turning tools or milling heads, recycled after their life in the machining in the sandwich scraper strip according to the invention as a hard metal core.
Preferably, the steel shell or the hard metal core is formed as a rod-shaped or plate-shaped molded body, which extends at best over the entire wear height of the sandwich scraper.
Carbide core and steel jacket should together occupy a high surface area of the wear surface of the rubber body. Their area share should amount to at least 20%.
An advantageous development is to cover the rubber body on its front and on its back with steel plates. hereby The sandwich scraper bar is particularly stiff and removes even stuck and verharschten snow residue from the asphalt surface.
If the rubber body of the sandwich scraper is covered on both sides with steel plates, it is recommended for reasons of weight, to dispense with a separate mounting neck and instead to use at least one of the two steel plates at the same time as a mounting neck.
The best functionality unfolds a scraper, the wear surface is composed in cross section of a seven-layer sandwich. The individual layers are - contrary to the direction of advance of the plow blade - the steel of the rear steel plate, the rubber of the rubber body, the steel of the steel shell, the hard metal of the hard metal core, the steel of the steel shell, the rubber of the rubber body and the steel of the front steel plate. In terms of the hard metal core, the sandwich is therefore symmetrical and effectively protects the brittle core against impacts.
