- the vane ring 10 has an uneven material thickness distribution in the area of the section 12, namely over sections with a relatively small material thickness and over the projection 13 with a relatively large material thickness.
- FIG. 3 Such a minimal cutting seam or weld seam is identified in FIG. 3 by the reference numeral 14.
- Fig. 3 can be seen that this cut seam 14 and thus the subsequent weld extends through the region of the projection 13. Nevertheless, in order to provide as uniform a material thickness as possible over the region of the subsequent weld, independently of the material thickness distribution of the original component, material is removed along the cutting seam and thus the subsequent weld in the sense of the present invention.
