Definitions
- the invention relates to a grinding device for lowerable pantographs of electrically operated vehicles, consisting of a carrier connected to a pantograph, on which a grinding body is fastened arranged over the length of the carrier.
- the main component of the grinding wheel of a pantograph for electrically powered vehicles is graphitic carbon, to which further metallic components can be added to improve the electrical conductivity.
- Graphitic 'carbon shows a lower strength against mechanical violent effects, which are not uncommon in the overhead line area.
- the grinding wheel is anchored in a part of a carrier designed as a holder.
- the frames usually have a rectangular or trapezoidal shape. Beams including the frames are made of aluminum or galvanized sheet steel. Under certain conditions, e.g. In cross-border train traffic when changing to other power supply networks and when hoarfrost is formed, arcs can form from the contact wire to the wearer, which can lead to their destruction and thus also endanger the mechanical stability of the grinding wheel in the holder.
- a contact strip which has an electrically insulating material on the outside has a thickness that ensures high dielectric strength.
- the dielectric strength refers to the electrical field strength related to the material thickness, at which the insulating material is destroyed and its insulating ability ceases.
- the insulating material is arranged on the outside of the socket or the carrier.
- the electrically insulating material is applied on the outside by complex flame spraying or plasma spraying. There is also the option of gluing a ceramic or plastic layer to the
- the invention is based on the object of offering a grinding device for lowerable current collectors of electrically operated vehicles, which consist of a carrier connected to a panograph, on which a grinding body which is arranged over the length of the carrier and which prevents mechanical destruction of the Abrasive body and is also protected against arcing on the socket or the carrier.
- the problem is solved with the characterizing part of claim 1.
- the grinding device according to the invention for lowerable current collectors of electrically operated vehicles consisting of a carrier connected to a pantograph, on which a grinding body arranged over the length of the carrier is fastened, characterized in that the carrier and the grinding body have a cladding that covers at least the area a grinding surface.
- the cladding is form-fitting and includes the carrier and the side surfaces of the contact strip. This close-fitting, form-fitting connection between the cladding and the carrier and the side surfaces of the contact strip enables optimum mechanical securing of the contact strip in conjunction with an electrical dielectric strength achieved over the entire carrier to prevent arcing.
- the refinement of the invention to design the cladding as a clamping sleeve has the great advantage when retrofitting existing grinding devices that this cladding is simply pushed over the carrier and the grinding bodies and because of the clamping effect of the cladding in connection with the shape, a stable fastening is achieved ,
- the clamping effect can advantageously be supported by attaching suitable mechanically acting clamping aids.
- the cladding essentially consists of electrically insulating material, the mechanical strength being suitable Choice of materials can be reinforced.
- polymeric materials such as polyamides, polyetherimides or polyether sulfones have proven to be very advantageous.
- a further embodiment provides that material combinations are used which above all take into account the fact that the cladding in the area of the grinding wheels is exposed to special mechanical loads. So it is e.g. It is possible to combine additional reinforcement elements or reinforcement materials with the cladding in order to achieve additional stability against the effects of violence, especially in the area of the grinding wheels. Additional reinforcing elements or reinforcing materials can be, for example, suitable fiber materials which are connected to polymers, for example carbon fibers. However, it should be noted that the hardness of the cladding in the area of the grinding wheel must not be greater than the hardness of the grinding wheel material itself.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides that the cladding has cutouts. These cutouts are provided, in particular, in the area of the carrier, in which a jump over of an arc to the catenary wire is virtually impossible. They enable a more effective adaptation of the form-fitting cladding to the carrier-grinding wheel combination.
- this covering can be glued or additionally glued to the carrier and / or the side surfaces of the grinding body.
- the cladding can be made in two or more parts, or it can consist of two longitudinal halves. This makes it possible to take into account the design features of the grinding device and to adapt the paneling accordingly.

- a grinding device for lowerable current collectors of electrically operated vehicles.
- a carrier 3 shown in the longitudinal direction is connected in the end region to a pantograph 2 which is responsible for lowering and starting up the grinding device.
- a grinding wheel 1 is fastened in a holder 8 of the carrier 3 (FIG. 2).
- the abrasive body 1 consists essentially of graphitic carbon and is responsible for the current draw on a catenary wire 10 and the connection to a drive unit.
- a cladding 5 positively envelops the carrier 3, as well as the grinding body 1 fixed in the holder 8 with its side surfaces 6. Vertical webs 7 of the cladding 5 rest on the side surfaces 6 of the grinding body 1 (FIG. 2). They can advantageously be glued to the grinding wheel 1 there.
- a grinding surface 4 of the abrasive body 1 is not covered by the cowling 5, at this point the current decrease is so that unhindered '.
- Fig. 2 shows the grinding device according to the invention in a schematic cross section.
- the grinding wheel 1 is fixed in the socket 8 of the carrier 3.
- the cladding 5 positively envelops both the carrier 3 and the mount 8 and, with their webs, the side surfaces 6 of the grinding body 1.
- the grinding surface 4 remains uncovered in order to ensure undisturbed power consumption.
- the panel 5 consists of impact-resistant and electrically insulating material.
- the grinding wheel 1 is worn due to the grinding effect of the overhead wire 10. When the upper edge of the vertical webs 7 of the cladding 5 is reached, these are also processed parallel to the grinding body 1.
- the cladding 5 prevents destruction or damage to the grinding body 1 and prevents the formation of an arc between the contact wire and the support or holder.
- FIG. 3 shows the panel 5 in cross section.
- the shape 'of the cladding 5 corresponds to the shape of the carrier 3.
- FIG. 3 shows the cross-sectional view BB of the cladding 5 according to the perspective view of FIG. 4.
- the carrier part 9 of the cladding 5 contains recesses 11.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 show views in the longitudinal direction of the cladding 5, the shape of which essentially depends on the shape of the combination of the carrier 3 with the grinding wheel 1.
- Fig. 7 shows a further view of the panel 5 in the longitudinal direction, in which a material bridge 12 is attached to the lower support part 9.
- FIG. 8 shows a top view of the covering 5 as shown in FIG. 5.
- the two cutouts 11 which can be seen here are separated from one another by a material bridge 12.
- the material bridge 12 can also be made of resilient, elastic material and placed on the carrier part 9, as shown in FIG. 7.
- Fig. 9 shows a further sectional view of the combination of the carrier 3 with the grinding body 1 and a cladding 5, which consists of two parts. Both parts can be fixed to the device by gluing or by other adhesive.
