Claims (5)

  1. A device which is suitable for spraying liquids on to objects, including a housing, a basket for receiving the objects and including a pump, which is connected via a conduit (8, 12, 13) to at least one nozzle pipe or apertured pipe, in which a valve (9) is disposed, which is closed when the cover or front door of the washing machine is open and is opened when the cover or front door is closed and permits flow, characterised in that the valve (9) includes an actuating rod (16), which is mechanically actuable in order to open the valve (9), and which is connected to at least one non-return flap (18) and/or at least one non-return ball (21), which, in the open state of the valve, is/are spaced from its valve seat/their valve seats, and, in the closed state of the valve, is/are pressed against its valve seat/their valve seats, and that attached to the interior of the cover (2) or of the front door there is an actuating element (14), which is suitable, on closing of the cover (2) or of the front door, to impinge against the actuating rod (16) and to press it down or forwards and, on opening or the cover (2) or of the front door, to release the actuating rod (16) so that it is moved abruptly into the closed position by the pressure of the liquid.
  2. A device as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the actuating rod (16) is biased into the closed position by a spring.
  3. A device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the actuating element is a rod (14), which is pivotally mounted on the cover (2) or the front door and is held in alignment with the actuating rod (16) by a guide device (15).
  4. A device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that a locking handle (28) for the cover is suitable, on rotary movement of the locking handle (28) for closing the cover (2) with an actuating section (29), for impinging against the actuating rod (16) and opening the valve (9).
  5. A device as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the actuating rod (16) merges into a guide rod (20), that engaging the annular shoulder (19) thus formed is the at least one non-return flap (18), which surrounds the guide rod (20) in a circular annular shape and is fastened to it and that fastened to the free end of the guide rod (20) there is a non-return ball (21).
