Definitions

  • the invention relates to a refrigerator and / or freezer with a cooling circuit comprising at least one evaporator and at least one compressor, with a temperature sensor arranged in the region of the evaporator and with a control unit, which is in communication with the temperature sensor and with the compressor and the is designed so that it turns on the compressor when the temperature measured by means of the temperature sensor exceeds an upper limit (switch-on).
  • Known refrigerators and fridge-freezers have an evaporator on which a temperature sensor is arranged, which emits a characteristic of the evaporator temperature actual temperature. If the evaporator temperature increases when the compressor of the refrigeration circuit is switched off due to the incidence of heat and if this exceeds the 0 ° C limit, the evaporator defrosts. The defrosting of the evaporator is desirable to always ensure a good efficiency of the evaporator and thus a good cooling performance. If the actual temperature value determined by means of the evaporator temperature sensor reaches or exceeds a certain limit value (referred to below as the switch-on value), causes a control unit to turn on the compressor, whereupon the evaporator temperature drops.
  • a certain limit value referred to below as the switch-on value
  • the compressor When a lower limit value is reached (referred to below as the switch-off value), the compressor is switched off again. Due to the incidence of heat it comes again to a warming and thus to an increase in temperature at the evaporator temperature sensor, which again causes the control unit to turn on the compressor when the switch-on is reached again or exceeded.
  • the temperature during operation of the refrigerator and / or freezer oscillates between two values, wherein the resulting temperature profile may be, for example, sinusoidal or sawtooth with straight or curved lines or flanks.
  • the switch-on of the evaporator sensor is set correspondingly high, that is, the limit at which the compressor is turned on again, is comparatively high. This ensures that the evaporator is exposed for a sufficient amount of time to a temperature at which defrosting can occur.
  • a disadvantage of this high setting of the switch-on value is that this value has an effect at medium ambient temperatures, for example at 25 ° C. or even higher values, in such a way that comparatively large temporal temperature fluctuations occur in the space to be cooled, which is not optimal for energetic reasons is.
  • the setting temperature of the refrigeration section is calculated from the minimum and maximum values of the standard measuring points of the room to be cooled, said switch-on value considerably influences this setting temperature. If very high ambient temperatures, for example from 38 ° C. to 43 ° C., may result that the required minimum value of 5 ° C. of the cooling part is no longer achieved due to the comparatively high switch-on value, which precludes suitability of the device for certain areas of use can.
  • the US 6,006,530 discloses a refrigerator in the interior of which a fan is arranged to introduce the cold air cooled by the evaporator into the refrigeration compartment.
  • the fan is operated so that its rotational speed is increased with decreasing evaporator temperature.
  • the apparatus includes or is in communication with an ambient temperature sensor which senses the ambient temperature of the refrigerator and / or freezer, and that there is provided a unit for changing the ON value associated with the ambient temperature sensor and such is designed that at higher ambient temperatures, a lower switch-on value is set or selected as compared to lower ambient temperatures.
  • the control behavior of the device is thus improved by the use of an ambient temperature sensor and by the ambient temperature dependent switch-on values, that is to say limit values of the evaporator temperature at which the compressor is switched on.
  • the turn-on of the evaporator sensor, in which the compressor is turned on be set much lower at high ambient temperatures. It is conceivable, for example, that the limit at which the control unit causes the compressor to switch on is at low ambient temperatures at + 5 ° C. and at high ambient temperatures, for example at 0 ° C. or even lower.
  • switch-on values of less than 0 ° C is conceivable, as the temperature curve will reverberate after switching on the compressor so that a temperature rise above 0 ° C can occur, even if the switch-on value is 0 ° C or below 0 ° C ,
  • the unit for changing the switch-on value is designed such that the switch-on value is not changed within predetermined ranges of the ambient temperature and is reduced when reaching or exceeding an upper range limit and increased when a lower range limit is reached or exceeded. It is conceivable, for example, that one, two, three or more than three such areas are provided.
  • control unit has a characteristic map which has certain ambient temperature ranges and upper limit values assigned thereto, that is, switch-on values for switching on the compressor.
  • control unit checks in which area the temperature measured by means of the evaporator temperature sensor falls and then determines the associated switch-on value.
  • the unit for changing the switch-on value is designed such that the switch-on value is changed continuously with the change of the ambient temperature. It is conceivable, for example, that the correct switch-on value based on the measured ambient temperature value is determined on the basis of a formula-related relationship between the ambient temperature and the switch-on value.
  • the change of the upper limit value or of the switch-on value can thus take place stepwise or continuously.
  • the unit for changing the switch-on is part of the control unit.
  • the unit for changing the switch-on value and the control unit are two separate components. It can thus be a structural unit or even different units.
  • a test means which compares the actual value of the temperature of the space to be cooled, for example, the cooling compartment of the device with a desired value and which is designed such that it makes a correction of the switch-on if the temperature setpoint is not or not within reached or fallen short of a certain period of time.
  • the test means makes a reduction of the switch-on value, so that the compressor is already switched on at lower temperatures and thus earlier a cooling power is generated. In this way, a compromise between achieving the desired temperature of the space to be cooled and ensuring the defrosting of the evaporator can be achieved.
  • the temperature sensor can be arranged directly on the evaporator, preferably in a sensor channel arranged on the evaporator or also in the region of the evaporator. It thus measures the evaporator temperature or the temperature of the atmosphere immediately surrounding the evaporator.
  • the control unit is designed such that it switches off the compressor when the temperature measured by the temperature sensor falls below a lower limit, ie a switch-off and that the switch-off is also changed in a change of the switch-on. It is conceivable that at a subsidence of the switch-on value, which makes sense at comparatively high ambient temperatures, cooling down to a very low switch-off value is not absolutely necessary. It can therefore be provided that the switch-off value is raised when the switch-on value is reduced, so that the span between the two limit values and thus also the temperature fluctuations are reduced.
  • the refrigerator and / or freezer according to the invention has a control unit which is connected on the one hand to the compressor of the cooling circuit and on the other hand with a temperature sensor which is received in a sensor channel of the evaporator of the device. Furthermore, a temperature sensor is connected to the control unit, which detects the ambient temperature of the device.
  • the ambient temperature sensor may be located directly on the device or even spaced therefrom.
  • the control unit has a map in which three ranges of ambient temperature with associated turn-on values, i. with the values of the measured by the evaporator temperature sensor temperature at which the compressor of the device is turned on, are linked.
  • the map is designed such that low ambient temperatures in the range below 16 ° C, for example, between 10 ° C and 16 ° C relatively high switch-on, that is, upper limits of, for example, 5 ° C are assigned. If the evaporator temperature sensor reports this temperature value, the control unit causes the compressor to be switched on at an ambient temperature in the range between 10 ° C and 16 ° C. As long as the temperature in the area of the evaporator is above 0 ° C, defrosting of the evaporator occurs.
  • the map of the control unit comprises a second range, for example, above 16 ° C to 38 ° C of the ambient temperature, which is associated with a lower turn-on value, for example, of 2.5 ° C.
  • a second range for example, above 16 ° C to 38 ° C of the ambient temperature, which is associated with a lower turn-on value, for example, of 2.5 ° C.
  • the map of the control unit has a third range from 38 ° C, for example, 38 ° C to 43 ° C, the low turn-on, for example, 0 ° C are assigned. If the value of 0 ° C is measured by the evaporator temperature sensor at such a high ambient temperature, the compressor is switched on. The switching on of the compressor and the associated cooling at comparatively low temperatures has the advantage that the cold room temperature can be maintained even at very high ambient temperatures, so that the required climate class ST (subtropical) or T (tropical) can be achieved.
  • the present invention ensures that defrosting is effectively ensured at low ambient temperatures, lower refrigerator temperature variations are obtained at ambient ambient temperatures, such as room temperature, which provides energy benefits, and achieves the required climate class at high ambient temperatures due to low turn-on values can be.
