- the length d of the rectilinear cutting part 66 in the x direction (FIG. 5) is generally greater than the length c of the mating surface 69. Furthermore, the displacement path e of the anvil 64 in the y direction (FIG. 13) is at least as great as the extension f of the eye-cutting part 67 in the y-direction (FIG. 5), so that the counter-surface 69 can be brought out of engagement with this eye-cutting part 67.
- the single eye cutting part 68 it is also possible, for example, to use a circular eyelet cutting part, not shown, by means of which a so-called eyelet hole can be cut.
- the above-described adjustability of the lower blade unit 14 serves to bring the blade portions 66, 67, 68 in an exact abutment against the counter surface 69 of the anvil 64, so that upon actuation of the buttonhole cutting device 13 produces a clean cut becomes.
- the working method is as follows:
- a fabric part 70 is held on the support plate 10a, 10b, with its later visible side down.
- An eye-buttonhole seam 71 is sewn, which has two straight caterpillar-shaped seam sections 72, 73 and a caterpillar-shaped eye section 74 which also connects them. After sewing the buttonhole seams 71, 72, 73, the x-y table 7 is moved in the y-direction in such a way that the workpiece 70 passes into the correct position between the knife unit 14 and the cutting block 15.
- the cross slide 28 of the lower knife unit 14 is moved so that the knife 45 is shown in FIG. 11 located below the anvil 64.
- the longitudinal carriage 53 with the anvil 64 is moved into the end position according to FIG. 12, in which the mating surface 69 is located above the eye-cutting part 67 and above the straight-line cutting part 66.
- the upper cutting block 15 is moved downwards with the anvil 64, so that the eye hole 75 and the rectilinear clothes hole 76 are cut by co-operation of the lower knife 45 with the anvil 64.
- the anvil 64 is moved by appropriate actuation of the drive 54 in the position shown in FIG. 13, in which the mating surface 69 of the anvil 64 only above rectilinear cutting part 66 of the knife 45 is located.
- the fabric part 70 is moved in such a way that a straight cut is made in the next cut, by which the clothesline cut 76 is lengthened accordingly. This can theoretically be repeated.
- the transverse carriage 28 is moved into its other end position so that the eye cutting part 68 is below the counter surface 69 of the anvil 64.
- the fabric part 70 is moved in the manner already described between the knife unit 14 and the cutting block 1 5 and then the buttonhole cutting device 13 is actuated, so that only one eye hole cut 75 is performed here.
- a lacing hole 77 is to be produced, then a corresponding caterpillar-shaped lacing seam 78 is sewn.
- the Schnürloches is cut with a corresponding circular knife then in the same manner as the cutting of the eye hole of FIG. 16.

8b angebrachte Teil-Auflageplatte 10a bzw. 10b aufweist, denen jeweils eine Klemmplatte 11 a bzw. 11b zugeordnet ist. Die Klemmplatten 11a bzw. 11b sind an doppelarmigen Lagerhebeln 12a bzw. 12b angebracht.
The
On the receiving
At the top of the
With the projecting out of the
As is apparent from the above, the cutting
The two

The length d of the
The above-described adjustability of the
By means of the
For cutting the
If, according to FIG. 16, only one
If, according to FIG. 17, a lacing hole 77 is to be produced, then a corresponding caterpillar-shaped
