Claims (12)

  1. Concealable ballistic protective vest, comprising
    an outer shell (10) to be applied to a person wearing the ballistic protective vest including at least a front upper-body portion (12) and a front abdominal portion (20) which are joined to each other; and
    a ballistic insert (32) composed of a layer pack having a plurality of layers (40, 42) of a shot-inhibiting material joined to one another, wherein
    the front upper-body portion (12) and the front abdominal portion (20) have a common pocket (24);
    the ballistic insert (32) has an upper-body protection region (34) and an abdominal protection region (36) which are connected to each other in one piece and are so dimensioned that the ballistic insert (32) can be inserted into the common pocket (24) of the front upper-body portion (12) and the front abdominal portion (20) and extends substantially over the entire pocket (24); and
    at least some of the layers (42) of the layer pack extend over the entire ballistic insert (32).
  2. Concealable ballistic protective vest according to claim 1,
    characterised in that

    the abdominal protection region (36) of the ballistic insert (32) can be folded onto the upper-body protection region (34), so that the front abdominal portion (20) of the concealable protective vest can be folded up against the inside of the front upper-body portion (12) of the concealable protective vest.
  8. Concealable ballistic protective vest according to claim 7,
    characterised in that
    the concealable protective vest further comprises a ballistic accessory protection element (54) which can be fastened between a thigh-protection region (38, 38') of the abdominal protection region (36) and to the concealable protective vest with the front abdominal portion (20) folded up.

    characterised in that
