Definitions
- the invention relates to a flat conductor ribbon conductor in which at least two electrical conductors with a rectangular cross-section are embedded in a plane parallel and at a distance from one another in insulating material ( DE 26 43 838 B1 ).
- FL-BL Flat conductor ribbon cables
- the advantage of the FL-BL lies in the fixed embedding of the conductors in the insulating material, so that they are largely protected in the same against mechanical damage.
- the FL-BL is continually dynamically bent over small radii over the long term, it is expedient to make the insulation thinner than required for dynamic bending around larger radii.
- the reduced thickness of the insulating material of the FL-BL also means a lower mechanical stability of the FL-BL overall, which is disadvantageous in many applications. This applies, for example in the automotive sector for the arranged in the steering wheel power supply of the airbag for the vehicle driver or for supplying power to other moving parts that are driven by electric motors.
- the invention has for its object to make the initially described FL-BL so that they can be easily bent with sufficient mechanical stability to very small radii.
- the FL-BL on the one hand Due to the smaller insulation wall thickness on one flat side of the FL-BL and the larger insulation wall thickness on the other flat side, the FL-BL on the one hand has a high dynamic bending strength even for small radii and on the other hand a sufficient mechanical stability. In the case of dynamic bending around the flat side with thinner insulation wall thickness, the FL-BL is permanently more resistant to bending over lines with thick insulation on both sides. The mechanical strength of the FL-BL, on the other hand, is significantly higher than that of a line with thin insulation on both sides.
- the flexural strength of the FL-BL in the direction of the flat side with a thin insulation wall thickness is also better than that of a line with the same insulation wall turret reduced on both sides, because the FL-BL is mechanically more stable due to the thicker insulation wall thickness on the other flat side. Because of the thinner insulation wall thickness also results in a reduced use of insulating material.
- the FL-BL can be used in all applications in which it is preferably dynamically bent in the long term in one direction.
- Such applications are - as already mentioned - given, for example, in a winding tape cassette for the driver airbag or other moving parts of a motor vehicle with wiring according to the drag chain principle, such as a sunroof.
- the FL-BL 1 shown in a plan view in FIG. 1 has four flat electrical conductors 2 with a rectangular cross-section.
- the FL-BL 1 should have at least two conductors. But it can also be three or more than four conductors.
- the conductors 2 are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 in a plane next to each other. They are separated by spaces and completely embedded in insulating material, which will be referred to as "insulation 3" hereinafter.
- the conductors 2 can be introduced in so-called laminating between two sheets of insulating material, which are firmly connected to the insulation 3 with inclusion of the conductors 2, for example by supplying heat and applying pressure.
- the insulation 3 can also be splashed around the conductor 2 by means of an extruder.
- the conductors 2 are arranged off-center in the insulation 3 as shown in FIG. 2, so that different wall thicknesses for the insulation 3 result at their flat sides.
- the wall thickness W1 of the insulation 3 over the conductors 2 is greater than the wall thickness W2 below the same.
- the dimensions of the wall thicknesses W1 and W2 can behave advantageously as 2: 1.
- the FL-BL 1 is preferably used so that it is bent around the flat side with the smaller wall thickness W2.
- the FL-BL 1 is arranged in turns, which are divided into an outer winding region 11 and an inner winding region 12.
- the two winding areas 11 and 12 are marked by brackets. In the middle position shown in FIG. 4 or in the mounting position of the cassette K, they each comprise two to three turns. In the two winding regions 11 and 12, the turns of the FL-BL 1 have opposite winding directions.
- the winding areas 11 and 12 are interconnected by an approximately U-shaped reversing point 13 of the FL-BL 1. Between the two winding areas 11 and 12, a ring-shaped guide body 14 is attached to this cassette K, which passes the FL-BL 1 at the reversal point 13.
- the guide body 14 is in the circumferential direction of the cassette K, ie in the direction of the double arrow 10, easily movable. During its movement, it takes with it the FL-BL 1 or its windings, via its reversal point 13, in which the FL-BL 1 is bent by a relatively small radius. The FL-BL 1 is thus taken on a movement of the rotor of the cassette K and the associated movement of the guide body 14 at its bent reversal point 13, whereby the reversal point 13 in the course of the FL-BL 1 and the turns thereof constantly back and forth emigrated.
- the FL-BL is mounted in the cassette K so that the thinner flat side of its insulation faces the guide body 14. So it is also at the reversal point 13 "inside" and so can join the constantly migrating bending stress permanently unscathed.

Abstract
