Description

The use of such hot springs (around 600 ° C for a clothes line) is not recommended. In addition, brushing with a wire brush can scratch the rollers, especially at such temperatures (600 ° C). It cleans the useful length of the roller by a cleaning means fixed to said device. The device at least partially surrounds the roller so that it can be carried by it without falling and so that it can slide along the roller. The device according to the invention cleans the roller while it rotates to fulfill its function (in particular the conveying of flat glass). The device according to the invention does not rotate and is not driven by the roller. To avoid being driven by the rotation of the roller, one can in particular envisage at least one of the following solutions: give the device sufficient weight and / or a center of gravity sufficiently below the roller, provide a stopper connected to the device by an arm passing under a neighboring roller so that the stop comes into contact with said neighboring roller in the case where the device tends to be driven in rotation by the roller. In order to prevent the device v 2 from being driven rotating by l e carrier roller, provision can be made to extend the connecting piece 6 by an arm 15 as far as a neighboring roller (the one upstream relative to the direction of conveying of the glass ribbon) so that a shoe 14 carried by said arm 15 comes into contact with said neighboring roller 1c in the event of slight rotation, to prevent the progression of this rotation. It can be seen in this figure that the device is completely under the conveying plane 16. Therefore, it does not interfere with the conveying of the flat glass 3. The cutting tool may comprise a succession of juxtaposed teeth 13 as shown in the figure 5. You can also replace the cutting tool with a wire brush driven in rotation by a motor. Figure 3 shows such a device. In this case, the pads 4 and 5 both have the function of sliding on the roller (and not for one of them to cut the deposits). A motor 9 is fixed under the device 2, that is to say approximately at the level of the part 6 forming the link between the two pads. This engine rotates a wire brush 10 cleaning the roller 1. The rod 8 is used to move the device over the entire useful length of the roller. The engine may in particular be of the pneumatic type, that is to say driven in rotation by a flow of pressurized air. This air, after passing through the engine to drive it, can be expelled at the level of the brush and thus serve in addition to cooling fluid. The device according to the invention can be mounted on the roller to be cleaned at any time during operation. If the rollers have smaller diameters at their ends (in the case of "spindles" of the conveyor conveyor rollers) than at their central part, it is sufficient to provide a spacing between the two pads (4,5) of a part larger than the diameter of these ends and on the other hand, of course, smaller than the diameter of the roller in its central part. FIG. 4 represents a conveyor roller 1 comprising at one end a portion of smaller diameter 11. The device 2 is presented under the spindle 11, the device is mounted around the spindle (movement of the arrow (a)) and place it at the end of the larger diameter part, in zone 12 (movement of the arrow (b)). This zone 12 will not be cleaned, but in fact this is not necessary since it is a non-useful zone during operation, that is to say not receiving the glass and not getting dirty so no. In the case of a clothes line, the rockets pass through the walls of the clothes line to rest on rolling bearings outside the clothes line. Movable parts of the walls generally allow access to the rockets. It is therefore sufficient to remove these movable walls under the rockets to set up the device according to the invention. The rod 8 enables the device to be actuated from outside the clothes line. For example, the rockets can have a diameter of 200 mm and the central part of the rollers a diameter of 305 mm. It is possible to provide a suction pipe fixed to the device 2 coming to the place where the deposits are removed so as to recover them. This pipe leaves the drying rack following the rod 8. The device according to the invention can also be used to clean the sizing rollers of glass fibers. These rollers soak in a fairly sticky sizing liquid and become charged with deposits from this liquid over time. If necessary, instead of mounting a cutting tool on one of the pads, it can be fitted with a polishing system rubbing the metal of the roller without scratching it (operation also called "burnishing").
