Ein zu bearbeitender Ski kann daher mit Hilfe der Niederhalter des Schlittens so an die Rollgangsrollen angedrückt und zugleich entlang des Rollganges verschoben werden, daß für die von unten angestellten Bearbeitungswerkzeuge vorteilhafte Bearbeitungsbedingungen sichergestellt werden können. Die Andrückkraft der Niederhalter ist dabei größer als die Bearbeitungskräfte zu wählen, die senkrecht zur Lauffläche wirksam werden. Außerdem muß die Haftreibung zwischen den Niederhaltern und dem zu bearbeitenden Ski größer als die den Ski in Längsrichtung beaufschlagenden Bearbeitungskräfte sein. Da bei einer entsprechenden Ausrichtung des Skis gegenüber den Niederhaltern ein mittlerer Niederhalter zwischen den Bindungsbacken auf den Ski aufgesetzt werden kann, kann mit Hilfe dieses mittleren Niederhalters eine üblicherweise vorgesehene Skibremse in die Ruhestellung hochgeschwenkt und in dieser die Seitenkanten freigebenden Ruhestellung gehalten werden. Zu diesem Zweck können jeder Rollbahn gesonderte Niederhalter zugeordnet werden. Es ist aber auch möglich, die Niederhalter seitlich zu verlagern, um nach der Bearbeitung eines Skis in der einen Vorschubrichtung des Schlittens einen weiteren Ski in der gegensinnigen Vorschubrichtung zu bearbeiten. Besonders vorteilhafte Konstruktionsverhältnisse ergeben sich allerdings in diesem Zusammenhang, wenn oberhalb des Rollganges zwei parallele, je einer Rollbahn zugeordnet Führungen für je einen Schlitten mit Niederhaltern vorgesehen sind. Von diesen Schlitten kann nämlich jeweils einer während des Arbeitshubes des anderen Schlittens in einem Leerhub zurückgefahren werden, um eine kontinuierliche Bearbeitung unmittelbar aufeinanderfolgender Skier sicherzustellen. - Machining device as claimed in claim 6, characterised in that provided above the roller table (6) are two parallel guides (10), which are each allocated to a roller path, for a respective carriage (11) having hold-down devices (13).
