Das ETCS-System soll die Vielzahl der in den europäischen Ländern eingesetzten Zugsicherungssysteme ablösen und so eine dichte, schnelle und grenzüberschreitende Zugführung in ganz Europa ermöglichen. In Europa haben sich mehr als zehn Arten entwickelt, die teilweise nebeneinander und länderabhängig eingesetzt werden und untereinander nicht kompatibel sind. Im grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr müssen daher Triebfahrzeuge mit einem oder eventuell mehreren Zugsicherungssystem(en) des Gastlandes ausgerüstet sein. Ist das nicht der Fall, muss ein Wechsel des Triebfahrzeuges vorgenommen werden, der zeit- und kostenaufwendig ist.To ensure safe and smooth train service, train protection systems are necessary. Diese ermöglichen die Weiterbenutzung der nationalen Zugsicherungssysteme, beispielsweise INDUSI, LZB, ZUB, SIGNUM, TVM, in einer Übergangsphase. Die STM-Module übersetzen Informationen von diesen alten Zugsicherungssystemen so, dass ein mit einem ETCS-Fahrzeuggerät und einem STM-Modul ausgestattetes Triebfahrzeug diese Strecken mit der entsprechenden länderspezifischen Funktionlität befahren kann. Jedes STM-Modul muss gemäß der UNISIG-Spezifikation eine Profibus-Schnittstelle zur Anbindung an das ETCS-Fahrzeuggerät aufweisen. Die UNISIG ist ein Firmenkonsortium, das die ETCS-Ausrüstungen für Fahrzeuge und Strecken spezifiziert und entwickelt, wobei als gemeinsame Grundlage die Einhaltung bestimmter Normen verabredet ist. Die im Rahmen der UNISIG-Spezifikation vorgegebenen Safety Layer der STM-Schnittstelle sind dabei zwingend zu beachten, wobei ein Sicherheitslevel nach CENELEC 50126 festgelegt wurde. Diese Norm EN 50126 definiert die Anforderungen an Zuverlässigkeit, Verfügbarkeit, Instandhaltbarkeit und Sicherheit sowie deren Wechselwirkungen. Die Entwicklung der verschiedenen STMs muss diesen Anforderungen genügen. Da bei Änderung bzw. Neuentwicklung auch für die zum Teil sehr alten nationalen Zugsicherungssysteme die EN 50126 berücksichtigt werden muss, ist der Entwicklungsaufwand für die STMs sehr hoch.To adapt the non-ETCS-compatible national train protection systems to the ETCS vehicle unit, STMs (Specific Transmission Modules) are usually used. Die Aufgabe wird mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 gelöst. Durch die Verwendung eines STM-Gateways anstelle einer Um- oder Neuentwicklung eines nationalen Zugsicherungssystems kann der Aufwand zur Anbindung des nationalen Zugsicherungssystems an das ETCS-Fahrzeuggerät erheblich reduziert werden. Das STM-Gateway ist eine universelle Schnittstellenanpassung, die für alle gebräuchlichen Zugsicherungssysteme verwendbar ist. Das Gateway erlaubt es Netzwerken miteinander zu kommunizieren, die auf völlig unterschiedlichen Protokollen basieren. Zu diesem Zweck nimmt das Gateway eine Protokollumsetzung vor. Im Detail werden sämtliche Protokollinformationen, die an ein Datenpaket angehängt werden, entfernt und durch die des zielsystems ersetzt. Eine Neuentwicklung des Zugsicherungssystems oder eine Umentwicklung desselben durch Verbindung mit einem speziellen STM zur Anbindung an das ETCS-Fahrzeuggerät ist durch das STM-Gateway entbehrlich.The object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1.
