Definitions
- both pressure-controlled and stroke-controlled injection systems can be used.
- fuel injection systems come next pump-injector units, pump-line-nozzle units and storage injection systems are used.
- Storage injection systems (common rail) advantageously make it possible to adapt the injection pressure to the load and speed of the internal combustion engine. In order to achieve high specific performance and to reduce the emissions of the internal combustion engine, the highest possible injection pressure is generally required.
- the achievable pressure level is currently limited to about 1600 bar in today's storage injection systems.
- these pressure transducers are used.
- EP 879 954 A1 discloses a servo valve for actuating a pressure booster of a fuel injector, in which the pressure booster has a booster piston, to which a working chamber, a differential pressure chamber and a compression chamber are assigned.
- the servo valve which is associated with a switching valve, has a valve piston which is guided in a valve housing in which a control chamber is formed, which is connectable to both a high pressure source and a low pressure side return.
- a pressure stage acting in the closing direction of the valve piston is provided between the control chamber and a further hydraulic chamber educated.
- the activation of the pressure booster is effected by a pressure change in the differential pressure chamber, wherein the servo valve is controlled by the activating switching valve and thereby connects or closes the differential pressure chamber with the low-pressure side return.
- the pressure booster has a movable pressure booster piston, which separates a connectable to the high pressure source chamber from a high-pressure chamber connected to the fuel injector.
- the fuel pressure in the high-pressure chamber can be varied by filling a rear space of the pressure booster with fuel or by emptying this rear space of fuel.
- the control of the pressure booster on the rear space can be achieved that the drive losses in the high-pressure fuel system can be kept smaller compared to a control via a temporarily connected to the high-pressure source working space.
- the high-pressure chamber of the pressure booster can only relieve pressure level of the high-pressure reservoir and not up to leakage pressure level.
- the hydraulic efficiency can be improved, on the other hand, a faster pressure build-up to the system pressure level take place, so that the lying between the injection phases temporal distances can be significantly shortened.
- a pressure booster can be used to increase the injection pressure. If the pressure booster is not activated, there is a flow connection from the pressure accumulator to the injection nozzle.
- Such a system may be equipped with two valves with independently activatable actuators to ensure flexible injection molding.
- a disadvantage of this solution is the relatively high production costs for a control of such a fuel injection system with two valves and two independently activatable actuators.
- the formation of a pressure booster control valve can make the use of a servo-hydraulically assisted valve necessary due to the high Abêtmengen from the differential pressure chamber of the pressure booster. However, this is associated with relatively high production costs.
- the control valve is designed as a slide valve with a pressure stage.
- the valve piston of the gate valve proposed by the invention can be constructed in two parts, so that it has no double guide and can be relatively easily produced. There are only two guides of different diameters required.
- the separation point of the two-part valve piston is located in a low pressure space, whereas both end faces of the valve piston parts are each subjected to high pressure, so that a separation of the valve piston is excluded. Due to the pressure stage formed on the slide valve, the valve is closed by hydraulic forces, so that the generation of a large spring force is not required. This in turn offers the advantage that the proposed valve according to the invention easily can be accommodated in available in fuel injectors tree room.
- This one guide section has a smaller sealing diameter, as in this section no valve pockets are provided for connection for control bores. Due to a shorter overall length of the guide portion of the servo piston can also facilitate the production.
- an additional valve seat can be used to further reduce the leakage losses.
- This additional valve seat can be formed as a flat seat and is structurally simple within a two-piece valve housing and low in terms of the cost of production.
- the efficiency of a fuel injector can be significantly increased.
- the required guide lengths and the valve lift can be further reduced, which contributes to the overall space reduction of the proposed 3/2 slide valve.
- control edges are used to control the pressure booster.
- the control edges are designed so that when closing a lateral distortion between closing one and opening the other of the control edges occurs, which is used for the construction of a pressure pad.
- FIG. 1 shows a servo valve embodied as a slide valve for controlling a pressure booster on a fuel injector.
- a pressure booster 2 is subjected to high-pressure fuel.
- the printer 2 comprises a working space 4 and a differential pressure chamber 5 (rear space), which are separated from one another are separated by a Corporationserlcolben 3.
- the pressure booster 2 also includes a compression chamber 6. From this branches off a Hochdrueldeitung 8, wherein in the refill branch of the pressure booster 2, a check valve 7 is received.

To produce a fast closing movement on the valve piston, a pressure stage acting in the closing direction of the valve piston is provided between the control chamber and a further hydraulic chamber educated. The activation of the pressure booster is effected by a pressure change in the differential pressure chamber, wherein the servo valve is controlled by the activating switching valve and thereby connects or closes the differential pressure chamber with the low-pressure side return.
Another fuel injection device, with a pressure booster is known from DE 102 18 635 A1. The pressure booster has a movable pressure booster piston, which separates a connectable to the high pressure source chamber from a high-pressure chamber connected to the fuel injector. The fuel pressure in the high-pressure chamber can be varied by filling a rear space of the pressure booster with fuel or by emptying this rear space of fuel. With the control of the pressure booster on the rear space can be achieved that the drive losses in the high-pressure fuel system can be kept smaller compared to a control via a temporarily connected to the high-pressure source working space. Furthermore, the high-pressure chamber of the pressure booster can only relieve pressure level of the high-pressure reservoir and not up to leakage pressure level. Thus, on the one hand, the hydraulic efficiency can be improved, on the other hand, a faster pressure build-up to the system pressure level take place, so that the lying between the injection phases temporal distances can be significantly shortened.
At each fuel injector of an internal combustion engine, a pressure booster can be used to increase the injection pressure. If the pressure booster is not activated, there is a flow connection from the pressure accumulator to the injection nozzle. Such a system may be equipped with two valves with independently activatable actuators to ensure flexible injection molding. A disadvantage of this solution is the relatively high production costs for a control of such a fuel injection system with two valves and two independently activatable actuators. The formation of a pressure booster control valve can make the use of a servo-hydraulically assisted valve necessary due to the high Absteuermengen from the differential pressure chamber of the pressure booster. However, this is associated with relatively high production costs. On the other hand, if slide valves are used on such systems, this offers the advantage of lower manufacturing costs and a reduced tolerance sensitivity. However, in order to ensure a sufficient high-pressure tightness, a high overlap of the slide control edges is to be ensured, which in turn requires a large valve lift of a few millimeters of the slide valve. This in turn has the consequence that an exact and fast closing movement of a valve piston with such a solution is difficult to achieve, since the required to achieve accurate and fast closing movement large spring forces in Injektorbauraum are not feasible. The large stroke of a valve piston designed as a valve piston requires a large space for the realization of high spring forces.
In order to ensure an exact fast closing movement of a control valve for a pressure booster, the control valve is designed as a slide valve with a pressure stage. The valve piston of the gate valve proposed by the invention can be constructed in two parts, so that it has no double guide and can be relatively easily produced. There are only two guides of different diameters required. The separation point of the two-part valve piston is located in a low pressure space, whereas both end faces of the valve piston parts are each subjected to high pressure, so that a separation of the valve piston is excluded. Due to the pressure stage formed on the slide valve, the valve is closed by hydraulic forces, so that the generation of a large spring force is not required. This in turn offers the advantage that the proposed valve according to the invention easily can be accommodated in available in fuel injectors tree room.
About the pressure level, a hydraulic restoring force can be generated in an advantageous manner. In known slide valves with pressure stages, there are several leakage paths, wherein a large pressure difference between rail pressure (system pressure) and low pressure is present at several guide sections of a servo valve piston. As a result, large overlap lengths have to be provided for the guide sections in order to limit the amount of leakage, which according to this solution results in large overall lengths of the servo valve piston.
When forming a servo valve piston with only one guide portion, which is acted upon in the idle state of the fuel injector system pressure (rail pressure), the leakage can be significantly reduced. This one guide section has a smaller sealing diameter, as in this section no valve pockets are provided for connection for control bores. Due to a shorter overall length of the guide portion of the servo piston can also facilitate the production.
As an alternative to the design of the control valve as a 3/2-slide-slide valve with only one guide portion which is acted upon in the idle state of the fuel injector with rail pressure, an additional valve seat can be used to further reduce the leakage losses. This additional valve seat can be formed as a flat seat and is structurally simple within a two-piece valve housing and low in terms of the cost of production. In addition, when using a 3/2-slide valve with flat seat as a control valve for the pressure booster, the efficiency of a fuel injector can be significantly increased. The required guide lengths and the valve lift can be further reduced, which contributes to the overall space reduction of the proposed 3/2 slide valve. Thus, the use of the solution according to the invention in the target installation space of modern internal combustion engines, where only little installation space is available, guaranteed. The execution of the servo valve as a 3/2-slide-valve slide with flat seat allows the realization of a leak-free servo piston, with the further a predetermined switching sequence when valve closing is feasible to allow post-injection at elevated pressure level.
For all variants of the servo valve proposed according to the invention, two control edges are used to control the pressure booster. The control edges (slide seal) are designed so that when closing a lateral distortion between closing one and opening the other of the control edges occurs, which is used for the construction of a pressure pad.

Via the high-
In contrast to the illustration according to FIG. 1, a connecting
Incidentally, the embodiment variant of a fuel injector with pressure booster, which is controlled via a servo valve, shown in FIG. 2, corresponds to the embodiment variant already described in connection with FIG.
The operation of the fuel injection system with pressure booster shown in Figures 1 and 2 is as follows:
In the initial state, i. when the
By activation of the
If the
To stabilize the guidance of the
In a slight modification of the embodiment variant shown in Figure 1, the fourth

Notwithstanding the

The

Notwithstanding the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 2 with respect to the first
Figure 3 shows the switching position of the
To ensure sufficient high-pressure tightness of the second

Analogous to the design of the
Figur 5 ist eine weitere Ausführungsvariante eines einen Druckübersetzer eines Kraftstoffinjektors ansteuernden Servoventils zu entnehmen.FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment variant of a servo valve controlling a pressure booster of a fuel injector.
The embodiment variant of the
Notwithstanding the previously described embodiments of the present invention proposed
In the initial state shown in Figure 5, i. in this switching position of the
Execution of the
In the idle state of the
Upon activation of the
Figur 6 zeigt das Servoventil gemäß der Ausführungsvariante in Figur 5 bei Betätigung durch das zweite Schaltventil 24.FIG. 6 shows the servo valve according to the embodiment in FIG. 5 when actuated by the
Due to a pressure relief of the
Upon renewed actuation of the
