Definitions
- the invention relates to an expansion joint strip of compressible material, with a reinforcement of stiffer material.
- an expansion joint strip of this type which serves in particular for the formation of expansion joints in screed floors.
- the expansion joint strip is erected upright on a base, such as a concrete surface or a thermal barrier coating, so that it separates two screed fields from each other during subsequent casting of the screed and thus fills an expansion joint between these two screed fields.
- Thermal expansion of the screed can then be compensated by the compressible material of the expansion joint strip.
- the compressible material of the expansion joint strip such as a foam
- the reinforcement is formed by two relatively stiff sheets which are laminated to the opposite surfaces of the foam material.
- the height of the expansion joint strip is greater than the thickness of the screed layer, so after curing of the screed, the protruding part of the expansion joint strip must be cut off.
- the object of the invention is to provide an expansion joint strip that can be cut easily and yet sufficiently rigid.
- This object is achieved in that the reinforcement is inserted between two layers of the compressible material web plate.
- a web plate Under a web plate is meant a structure of two parallel spaced plastic plates which are interconnected by parallel webs, so that the space between the two plates forms an alternating sequence of webs and cavities.
- Such web plates are available in various thicknesses commercially.
- the web plate Due to its honeycomb structure, the web plate is relatively resistant to deformation, so that a single web plate is sufficient as reinforcement for the expansion joint strip.
- a significant advantage over the conventional expansion joint strip is that you do not have to cut two relatively widely spaced apart rigid films when cutting, but only the only, lying approximately in the center plane of the expansion joint strip web plate. As a result, the cutting process is much easier.
- expansion joint strip according to the invention is anisotropic due to the running direction of the webs in the web plate, i.e., can be cut particularly easily in one direction parallel to the webs and has a high deformation stiffness in the direction perpendicular thereto.
- the outer surfaces of the expansion joint strip are formed by the foam material, which interlocks well with the screed, so that a crumbling of the screed is avoided at the edges of the expansion joint.
- expansion joint strip can be easily kinked or bent, since it has only a single reinforcement in the middle.
- curved or angled expansion joints can be produced, for example, along the walls of a room.
- the structure of the invention also facilitates the Auskneifen or cutting out recesses, such as bushings for floor heating pipes.
- the webs extend in the longitudinal direction of the expansion joint strip.
- the protruding upper edge of the expansion joint strip can then be cut particularly easily by the knife is guided parallel to the webs through one of the hollow chambers, the webs give the knife additional guidance.
- the deformation stiffness is then smaller in the direction perpendicular to the expansion joint strip than in its longitudinal direction. Even if the expansion joint strip bends slightly to one side, you still get a rectilinear joint due to the great stiffness in the longitudinal direction.
- the deformation stiffness in the longitudinal direction on the other hand, with a suitable thickness of the web plate is also not so large that it would prevent buckling or bending of the expansion joint strip. If necessary, the buckling capability can also be increased by cutting one of the two foam layers and at least one of the two wall plates of the web plate.
- the expansion joint strip can be slit along its lower edge in the median plane, so that the slot cuts through the lower webs of the web plate.
- the upstanding legs of an inverted T-profile can be inserted, which forms a Standfu ⁇ for the expansion joint strip.
- the web plate at the bottom over the foam layers and slit, so that the two halves of the web plate can be angled to opposite sides to form a pedestal.
- the two angled parts of the web plate can then be fixed by a glued-under adhesive strip, as is known in principle from DE 198 01 971 C1.
- the web plate and the wings can be integrally formed on the web plate on opposite sides angled wings that form a stand in one piece to the web plate.
- the web plate and the wings form a T-profile.
- the web plate and the base-forming wings are extruded in one piece as a T-shaped profile.
- the expansion joint strip shown in Figure 1 has two layers 10 of compressible material, for example made of PE foam, sandwiched between which a web plate 12 is inserted, which consists for example of polypropylene.
- the two layers 10 are glued to the web plate 12 or firmly connected in any other way.
- the webs 14 of the web plate 12 extend horizontally, ie in the longitudinal direction of the expansion joint strip.
- a slot 16 is cut from the lower edge, which cuts through the lower webs 14.
- a vertical leg 18 of an inverted T-profile is inserted, for example, an extruded profile made of plastic, which forms a base 20 for the Dehnüngsfugenst Shape and rests with its horizontal leg 22 on a support 24.
- the base 20 can be easily inserted into the slot 16 and is held non-positively, so that a simple assembly is possible.
- the base 20 may also consist of several separate profile sections, which are arranged at certain intervals along the expansion joint strip. This also allows the production of angled or curved expansion joints.
- the space is poured on both sides of the expansion joint strip with screed, for example, to a height which is indicated by a dotted line 26 in Figure 1.
- the protruding upper edge region of the expansion joint strip can then be easily cut after curing of the screed by a knife is passed through one of the hollow chambers 28 between the webs 14 of the web plate.
- the total thickness and the material thickness of the web plate 12 can be suitably selected depending on the stability requirements.
- Figure 2 shows a modified embodiment in which the web plate 12 is extended downwardly beyond the layers 10 of the foam material.
- the protruding part of the web plate 12 is slit open, and the resulting wings 30 of the web plate are angled at right angles to opposite sides to form a pedestal 32.
- the two wings 30 can be fastened to the base 24, for example, by means of a double-sided adhesive tape 34, which extends approximately over the entire width of the base 32.
- the adhesive tape 34 By the adhesive tape 34, the wings 30 are then fixed at the same time in their angled position.
- the remnants 36 of the severed webs seated on the wings 30 are generally so thin that they are easily bent and flattened so that a stable connection between the wings 30 and the adhesive tape 34 is obtained.
- Fig. 3 shows such recesses 38 for heating pipes 40.
- Corresponding recesses 42 may be formed in the opposite direction in the leg 18 of the base 20 so that it can be used as a kind of laying rail for the heating pipes.
- Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which the here relatively thin web plate 12 coated only on one side with the layer 10 of foam and then folded over twice, so that the gain is formed by the double-lying web plate.
- the base 20 can be inserted here as well.
- Fig. 5 shows an embodiment similar to Fig. 2, but in which the web plate 12 was extruded with perpendicular projecting from opposite sides wings 44 in one piece.
- the web plate 12 thus forms with the wings 44 a T-profile 46, wherein the wings 44 form a stand 48.
- the two wings 44 for example, by means of a double-sided adhesive tape 34 which extends approximately over the entire width of the base 48, are secured to the base 24.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an expansion joint strip of compressible material, with a reinforcement of stiffer material.
From DE 198 01 971 C1 an expansion joint strip of this type is known which serves in particular for the formation of expansion joints in screed floors. The expansion joint strip is erected upright on a base, such as a concrete surface or a thermal barrier coating, so that it separates two screed fields from each other during subsequent casting of the screed and thus fills an expansion joint between these two screed fields. Thermal expansion of the screed can then be compensated by the compressible material of the expansion joint strip. Since the compressible material of the expansion joint strip, such as a foam, is relatively soft and easily deformable, it is stiffened by the reinforcement, so that in particular the upper edge of the freely rising expansion joint strip is not deformed and thus receives a straight joint. In the known expansion joint strip, the reinforcement is formed by two relatively stiff sheets which are laminated to the opposite surfaces of the foam material.
If the height of the expansion joint strip is greater than the thickness of the screed layer, so after curing of the screed, the protruding part of the expansion joint strip must be cut off.
The object of the invention is to provide an expansion joint strip that can be cut easily and yet sufficiently rigid.
This object is achieved in that the reinforcement is inserted between two layers of the compressible material web plate.
Under a web plate is meant a structure of two parallel spaced plastic plates which are interconnected by parallel webs, so that the space between the two plates forms an alternating sequence of webs and cavities. Such web plates are available in various thicknesses commercially.
Due to its honeycomb structure, the web plate is relatively resistant to deformation, so that a single web plate is sufficient as reinforcement for the expansion joint strip. A significant advantage over the conventional expansion joint strip is that you do not have to cut two relatively widely spaced apart rigid films when cutting, but only the only, lying approximately in the center plane of the expansion joint strip web plate. As a result, the cutting process is much easier.
A further advantage is that the expansion joint strip according to the invention is anisotropic due to the running direction of the webs in the web plate, i.e., can be cut particularly easily in one direction parallel to the webs and has a high deformation stiffness in the direction perpendicular thereto.
It is also advantageous that the outer surfaces of the expansion joint strip are formed by the foam material, which interlocks well with the screed, so that a crumbling of the screed is avoided at the edges of the expansion joint.
Another advantage is that the expansion joint strip can be easily kinked or bent, since it has only a single reinforcement in the middle. Thus, curved or angled expansion joints can be produced, for example, along the walls of a room. The structure of the invention also facilitates the Auskneifen or cutting out recesses, such as bushings for floor heating pipes.
In the dependent claims advantageous developments and refinements of the invention are given, with which a particularly good cutting ability is achieved and a simple placement of the expansion joint strip on the surface is made possible.
Preferably, the webs extend in the longitudinal direction of the expansion joint strip. The protruding upper edge of the expansion joint strip can then be cut particularly easily by the knife is guided parallel to the webs through one of the hollow chambers, the webs give the knife additional guidance. The deformation stiffness is then smaller in the direction perpendicular to the expansion joint strip than in its longitudinal direction. Even if the expansion joint strip bends slightly to one side, you still get a rectilinear joint due to the great stiffness in the longitudinal direction. The deformation stiffness in the longitudinal direction, on the other hand, with a suitable thickness of the web plate is also not so large that it would prevent buckling or bending of the expansion joint strip. If necessary, the buckling capability can also be increased by cutting one of the two foam layers and at least one of the two wall plates of the web plate.
In order to allow easy installation of the expansion joint strip on the substrate, the expansion joint strip can be slit along its lower edge in the median plane, so that the slot cuts through the lower webs of the web plate. In this slot, for example, the upstanding legs of an inverted T-profile can be inserted, which forms a Standfuβ for the expansion joint strip.
Optionally, it is also possible to leave the web plate at the bottom over the foam layers and slit, so that the two halves of the web plate can be angled to opposite sides to form a pedestal. Optionally, the two angled parts of the web plate can then be fixed by a glued-under adhesive strip, as is known in principle from DE 198 01 971 C1.
It can be integrally formed on the web plate on opposite sides angled wings that form a stand in one piece to the web plate. For example, the web plate and the wings form a T-profile. For example, the web plate and the base-forming wings are extruded in one piece as a T-shaped profile.
In the following, embodiments of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.

The expansion joint strip shown in Figure 1 has two
In the
After the expansion joint strip has been set up with its
Figure 2 shows a modified embodiment in which the
Fig. 3 zeigt solche Aussparungen 38 für Heizungsrohre 40. Since the expansion joint strip has only a single stiffening in the middle, recesses for the implementation of heating pipes or the like can be easily herauskneifen with pliers. Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which the here relatively
Fig. 5 shows an embodiment similar to Fig. 2, but in which the
