Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising two organs for dispensing fluid, liquid or pulverulent products, such as pumps or valves. Each dispensing member is associated with a respective reservoir containing fluid.
- the fluid products of the two tanks can be identical or different in nature.
- This type of distributor is often referred to as a "duo" in the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or even pharmacy.
- duo type distributors are arranged so that the tanks are arranged side by side. When the dispenser is kept in a standing position, the bottoms of the tanks are located at the bottom and the distribution members (pumps) are arranged at the top of the tanks.
- a common dispensing head covers the two dispensing members.
- Each dispensing member generally comprises a body inside which an actuating rod is axially movable between a rest position and an actuated position.
- the actuating rod has a free end which points upwards.
- the two actuating rods point upwards.
- the dispensing head is attached and fixed to the free ends of the actuating rods.
- the actuating head also forms one or two dispensing orifice (s).
- a dual dispenser is a juxtaposition of two conventional dispensers consisting of a reservoir and a dispensing member with which is associated a common dispensing head forming the dispensing outlet.
- duo distributor has several disadvantages. Firstly, because the tanks are arranged side by side, this considerably increases and necessarily the section of the distributor. Very often, duo dispensers have a stocky appearance with an imposing dispensing head. Then, the bearing force which it is necessary to apply to the common dispensing head must be greater than the sum or the sum of the forces which must be applied to each actuating rod. As a result, the Duo dispensers are quite difficult to actuate because they have a very high resistance to actuation. If a duo dispenser is produced using a standard pump having a standard actuating force, a double pressing force is obtained for the dispensing head of the duo dispenser.
- An object of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art by defining a dispenser of the duo type having a different configuration and whose actuation or support force can be maintained at a suitable and pleasant level while using standard distribution devices.
- Document US-3,451,593 discloses a dual dispenser comprising two aerosol cans provided with valves and containing a fluid product under pressure. The cans are arranged one above the other with the valves facing each other. The dispenser further includes a common dispensing head to which the two valves are connected. By pressing the bottom of the container arranged upside down, the two valves are actuated simultaneously. The fluid products from the two cans are then discharged to the dispensing head where they are mixed before being dispensed.
- the container placed at the front is provided with a dip tube, while the distributor arranged upside down is devoid of it. If the user uses this distributor upside down or inclined, the simultaneous distribution of the two distributors is no longer ensured.
- the fluids are in contact with the propellants in the pressurized containers.
- the object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the dispenser of the above-mentioned prior art.
- the present invention provides a fluid dispenser comprising a first fluid dispenser member associated with a first fluid reservoir, said first member comprising a first actuating rod movable along a first rod axis between a rest position and an actuated position, and a second fluid dispenser member associated with a second fluid reservoir, said second member comprising a second actuating rod movable along a second rod axis between a rest position and an actuated position, the first rod comprising a free end pointing in a first direction and the second rod having a second free end pointing in a second direction, the two members being arranged relative to each other with the first and second rod axes extending parallel and with the first direction opposite to the second direction so that a distribution member is arranged upside down with respect to the other dispensing member, characterized in that at least one of the reservoirs is without air intake, its volume decreasing as fluid is extracted from it. .
- the two rod axes are combined.
- the present invention proposes to arrange the two distribution members one above the other with their actuating rod pointing towards one another.
- One dispenser is then upside down, and the other dispenser is upside down.
- the reservoirs can thus be arranged one above the other, and no longer side by side as is the case in the prior art.
- the dispenser can then have an elongated or elongated appearance which is more aesthetic than the stocky appearance of the prior art.
- the support force required to actuate the dispenser is only equal to the greater support force of one of the two dispensing members. Indeed, in this superimposed configuration, the support forces do not add up as is the case with the juxtaposed arrangement of the prior art.
- the support force necessary to actuate the dispenser according to the invention is much lower, since only equal to the support force of the hardest dispensing member to actuate.
- the distribution members are pumps.
- at least one of the tanks is chosen from the group formed by piston-follower tanks and flexible bags of variable volume.
- the dispenser comprises a pusher movable along a thrust axis extending parallel to the rod axes, said pusher, when subjected to a thrust force, urging one end rod free to the other rod end.
- said pusher acts on a reservoir to move it towards the other reservoir, the actuating rods of the two dispensing members remaining static with respect to each other while moving together towards the reservoirs.
- the pusher forms a receiving housing for a fluid reservoir.
- the pusher comprises axial guide means for ensuring the axial displacement of the reservoir which it requests.
- a reservoir is received in a hull, a dispensing head common to the two dispensing members being sliding axially in the hull, said pusher being sliding axially in the hull.
- the fluid dispenser comprises a dispensing head provided with at least one outlet duct opening at at least one dispensing orifice, said head comprising two connection sleeves communicating with said at least an outlet conduit and each receiving a free end of an actuating rod, the two sleeves being integral in displacement with one another.
- the head forms guide means for a dispensing member.
- a dispensing member is located above its reservoir and the other dispensing member is located below its reservoir, the dispensing member located below the reservoir being provided with a vent tube which extends into the reservoir outside the fluid product.
- the reservoirs has no air intake, its volume decreasing as the fluid product is extracted therefrom.
- FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-section view through a fluid dispenser according to a first embodiment of the invention in the rest position
- FIG. 2 is a view of the dispenser of FIG. 1 in the actuated position
- FIG. 3 is a vertical cross-sectional view through a fluid dispenser according to a second embodiment of the invention in the rest position.
- the fluid dispenser of the invention is a duo dispenser comprising two reservoirs 15, 25, two dispensing members, in this case pumps 1, 2 and a head common dispensing 5.
- Valves may very well be used in place of pumps, the valves being more suitable for dispensing dry or suspended powders.
- a pump in this case the pump 1 , is placed or arranged below the pump 2.
- the pump 1 will be called the lower pump and the pump 2 will be called the upper pump.
- the reservoir 15 is the lower reservoir associated with the lower pump 1 and the reservoir 25 is the upper reservoir associated with the upper pump 2. In the embodiments of the figures, the reservoir 15 is located below the pump 1 and the reservoir 25 is located above the pump 2.
- the common dispensing head 5 is disposed between the pumps 1 and 2. Another arrangement of the reservoirs with respect to the pumps is possible while remaining within the scope of the invention, however maintaining as an advantageous characteristic that a pump in this case the pump 2 is located above the lower pump 1.
- the lower pump 1 comprises a body 12 and an actuating rod 11 which is axially movable along a rod axis X-X.
- the upper pump 2 comprises a pump body 22 and an actuating rod 21 movable axially along the same rod axis XX.
- the two rods 11 and 21 are arranged in an aligned manner on a common rod axis XX. It can however be provided that the axes of the rods 11 and 21 are not merged, but just parallel. Alignment of the rod axes is a preferred embodiment.
- the rod 11 of the lower pump 1 comprises a free end 111 which points upwards in the figures.
- the actuating rod 21 of the upper pump 2 comprises a free end 211 which points downwards.
- free end 111 of rod 11 points towards free end 211 of rod 21. More generally, it can be said that the lower pump 1 is arranged upright, while the upper pump 2 is arranged upside down.
- the free ends 111 and 211 of the rods 11 and 21 are connected to the common dispensing head 5.
- the actuating rods 111 and 211 internally define an outlet conduit fluid product by which the pressurized fluid product inside the pumps is discharged when they are actuated.
- the common distribution head 5 comprises one or two distribution channels opening out at one or two respective distribution orifices 510, 520.
- the distribution head 5 comprises two separate distribution channels 51 and 52 connected respectively at the free ends 111 and 211 of the respective actuating rods 11 and 21.
- the fluid product discharged through the actuating rod 11 can then flow through the distribution channel 51 to open at the dispensing orifice 510.
- the channel 52 can flow through the distribution channel 52 and open at the distribution orifice 520.
- the channel 52 extends centrally axially while the conduit 51 extends from concentrically around the channel 52.
- the dispensing orifice 510 is thus in the form of an annular surrounding the central dispensing orifice 520. This is only a particular embodiment.
- the two channels 51 and 52 can also extend adjacent to each other and lead to two distribution orifices arranged side by side.
- the dispenser comprises an outer shell 4, preferably made of a substantially rigid material.
- This shell 4 advantageously contains the lower reservoir 15, the lower pump 1, the common dispensing head 5, the upper pump 2 and optionally or partially the upper reservoir 25.
- the shell 4 comprises a closed bottom 42 from which rises a substantially cylindrical barrel 4L
- the barrel 41 may include an opening 44 through which the distribution channels 51, 52 pass so that their respective distribution orifices extend out of the shell.
- the shell 4 can serve as a means of holding or stabilizing the reservoir 15, of the lower pump 1, as well as of guiding means for the common dispensing head 5, the upper pump 2 and possibly the upper reservoir 25. The detailed structure of these different means will be described below with reference to the figures.
- the dispenser comprises a pusher 3 or 231.
- This pusher is accessible from the open upper end of the shell 4.
- the shell 4 can be in the form of a tube of circular cross section or another whose bottom 42 is closed and whose upper end is open.
- Pusher 3; 231 allows to exert a force in the direction of the common rod axis X-X.
- the pusher acts on the upper reservoir 25, and the force is thus transmitted to the upper pump 2, to the common dispensing head 5, to the lower pump 1, then to the reservoir 15 and finally on the bottom 42 of the shell 4.
- the user can for example hold the dispenser with one hand by grasping it by the barrel 41 of the shell 4 and pressing the pusher 3; 231 using a finger of this same hand, for example the index finger.
- This is a completely natural gesture for the actuation of a distributor. Pressing the plunger generates an axial displacement of the upper pump 2, of the common dispensing head
- the reservoir lower 15 is defined by a container 16 which is rigid or semi-rigid.
- the container 16 comprises a bottom 17 which can come to bear on the bottom 42 of the shell 4.
- the outside diameter of the container 16 can be chosen so that it can be inserted substantially without play inside the barrel 41 of the shell 4
- the container 16 is perfectly maintained inside the shell 4 at its bottom 17 but also at its side wall.
- the container 16 comprises at its end opposite the bottom 17 a neck 18 which defines an opening communicating the tank 15 with the outside.
- the pump 1 is partially disposed in the opening formed by the neck 18.
- the body 12 comprises a fixing flange 17 bearing on the upper end edge of the neck 18.
- a fixing ring 6 is used to hold the flange 13 on the neck 18.
- the ring 6 is here a snap ring coming to cooperate with the outside of the neck 18.
- the ring 6 also includes an outer ring which engages with the internal wall of the barrel 41 of the shell 4 to maintain fixedly the pump 1 as well as the container 16 inside the shell 4. Since the container 16 is rigid or semi-rigid, the pump 1 is provided with a dip tube 14 which extends into the reservoir 15 up to the level of the bottom 17. In the standing position, the level NI of the fluid inside the reservoir 15, when the latter is filled, is located at or just below the neck 18.
- the upper reservoir 15 is formed by a rigid or semi-rigid container 26 defining a neck 28 in which the pump 2 is fixed by means of any fixing system.
- a conventional fixing ring can for example be used.
- the container 26 comprises a bottom 27 oriented upwards.
- the level N2 of the fluid inside the reservoir 25, when the latter is filled, is situated substantially at the level of the bottom 27. Since the container 26 is rigid, and therefore substantially non-deformable, it is necessary to compensate for the volume of fluid extracted from the reservoir with a substantially corresponding volume of air.
- the upper pump 2 is provided with a vent tube 24 which extends in the tank 25 substantially up to the level of the upper bottom.
- the container 26 is here associated with a pusher 3 comprising an upper bearing surface 31 on the periphery of which extends downwards a guide skirt 32.
- This skirt 32 also forms, in association with a flange 33, a housing 34 to the interior of which the container 26 is received in a fixed and stable manner.
- the bottom 27 comes into contact with the bearing surface 31.
- the peripheral guide skirt 32 is adapted to slide without sealing inside the shell 4. More precisely, the shell 4 defines a guide projection 43 located just at the - Above the distribution orifices 510, 520.
- the guide skirt 32 is substantially cylindrical and of shape substantially corresponding to the section of the shell 4 at the level of the projection 43.
- the distribution head 5 comprises, in addition to its two distribution channels 51 and 52, two connection sleeves 53 and 54 for the respective free ends 111 and 121 of the respective actuating rods 11, 21.
- the head 5 also includes a socket guide 57 inside which the upper pump 2 or its fixing ring can move axially and stably along the common axis XX.
- the head 5 comprises several guide walls 55, 56 intended to slide in leaktight manner inside the shell 4 to ensure an axial and stable movement of the head 5 along the common axis XX .
- the bearing force is transmitted to the upper bottom 27 of the reservoir 25, then to the upper pump 2, which has the effect of driving its actuating rod 21 inside the body 22.
- the pressing force pushes the actuating rod 11 into the body 12 of the lower pump 1.
- the dispensing head 5 moves slightly downwards.
- the respective fluid products from the two actuating rods 11 and 21 flow through the distribution channels 51 and 52 to reach simultaneously or consecutively at the distribution orifices 510, 520.
- Pumps can be provided having the same distribution capacity, or on the contrary different distribution capacities. You can also choose pumps with the same actuation load or resistance, or on the contrary of pumps having different actuation loads or resistances. This will affect the amount of product dispensed as well as the distribution sequence of the fluid products at the respective dispensing ports. It is easier to choose pumps with the same actuation load or resistance.
- the pumps 1 and 2 can be identical to those of the first embodiment. It is the same for the head 5.
- the main difference with the previous embodiment resides in the tanks 15 and 25.
- the tank 15 is defined by a deformable container 16 'which can for example be produced by injection blowing .
- a deformable container 16 ' which can for example be produced by injection blowing .
- the advantage with this kind of deformable container 16 ′ is that the useful volume of the reservoir 15 decreases as fluid is extracted therefrom via the pump.
- the container 16 ' is a pocket produced by injection blowing comprising a substantially rigid neck 18.
- the container 16' is held inside a rigid envelope 7 by means of a retaining element which is in the form of a collar surrounding the neck 18 and engaging with its outer periphery with the inside of the rigid envelope 7.
- the pump 1 is disposed inside the neck 18 and held in place with a fixing ring 6 'which defines a fixing housing 61 for the pump 1 and a locking ring 63 which engages with the rigid casing 7 to block the holding element 8 in place.
- the upper reservoir 25 is constituted by a rigid container 26 'inside which is disposed a piston follower or scraper 27'.
- the function of the follower piston is to move as fluid is distributed by pump 2 to reduce the useful volume of the reservoir 25.
- the pusher 231 is here formed by a cap attached to the open bottom of the rigid container 26 '. We can even say that the cover defines the bottom of the container 26 '.
- Another particular feature of this embodiment lies in the use of an adjustment spring 215 disposed between the pump 2 and the dispensing head 5. This spring 215 makes it possible to modify the load or actuation resistance of the pump.
- the stiffness of the adjustment spring 215 is added to the stiffness of the internal return spring of the pump which biases the actuating rod towards its rest position.
- the total load of the assembly formed by the pump and the adjusting spring can be adjusted to a desired value using an adequate adjusting spring. It is therefore the adjustment spring which makes it possible to adjust the total load.
- the adjustment spring 215 will make it possible to adjust the actuation load of a pump relative to the actuation load of the other pump. This allows for example to balance the loads of the two pumps. This also makes it possible to unbalance the loads of the two pumps. At the distribution level, this determines the distribution sequence from the two pumps.
- the fluid from one pump can be dispensed before that from the other pump. You can also get simultaneous distribution. This ensures a desired sequenced distribution of the fluid products from the two pumps. We can also play on the section and the width of the distribution channels to determine the distribution sequence.
- the pusher can be in the simple form of a tank container bottom.
- the shell 4 is also very easy to manufacture and makes it possible to hide all the constituent elements of the duo dispenser.
