Description

The present invention relates to a fastening device for holding a removable lighting lamp on a protective helmet.

The invention finds a particularly advantageous, but not exclusive, application in the field of fire helmets.

In a number of applications, it may be advantageous to non-permanently secure a removable lamp on the outer surface of a protective helmet. Many users of this type of helmet are, in fact, regularly brought to evolve in environments with little or no light. We think first of all here of the firefighters or the military, but also of the construction workers, the miners or the speleologists.

To make a protective helmet usable with a removable lamp, it is in particular known to use a fastening device consisting of a support member and a fastening element. The support element is secured to one of the lateral parts of the protective helmet, while the fastening element is constituted by a sleeve capable of receiving the lamp. In order to impart its removable character to the lamp, the sheath is provided with a protruding part which is able to be engaged and to slide in a guiding groove arranged horizontally in the support element. The engagement of this protruding part takes place horizontally from back to front; the sliding of the fastening element being simply blocked forward by means forming a stop.

This type of fastening device, however, has the disadvantage of not offering restraint sliding backwards, so that the fastening element can be brought very easily to disengage from the guide groove, in particular to the following a shock between the lamp and any obstacle. This is very detrimental for the equipment itself, since the lamp can be damaged during its fall, but also for the user who finds himself without this means of personal lighting.

Also, the technical problem to be solved by the object of the present invention is to propose a fixing device for holding a removable lamp on a protective helmet, the fixing device comprising a support element intended to be secured to the protective helmet and a fastening element intended to be secured to the removable lamp, the fastening element being slidable in guide means provided on the support element, the sliding of the fastening element being blocked at one end of the guide means by first stop means, fixing device which would avoid the problems of the state of the art by ensuring the maintenance of the removable lamp in case of shock, even when said shock is substantially collinear with the sliding direction of the fastening element in the support element.

The solution to the technical problem posed consists, according to the present invention, in that the fixing device comprises second abutment means able to block the sliding of the fastening element at the other end of the guide means, and that the attachment element is adapted to be inserted into the following guiding means a direction of engagement substantially perpendicular to the sliding direction of said fastening element in said guide means.

This means that the hooking element is capable of sliding in the guide means between two extreme positions which are delimited respectively by the first stop means and by the second stop means. Particularly advantageously, the fastening element can not disengage during its sliding in the guide means, unlike its counterpart of the prior art.

As the insertion of the fastening element in the guide means is effected in a direction of engagement substantially perpendicular to the direction of sliding of said fastening element in said guide means, the removal of the removable lamp requires a much more complex movement than in the prior art. This movement is indeed broken down into a first translation along the sliding direction, combined with a second translation perpendicular to the first and directed along the direction of insertion.

The invention as defined thus has the advantage of ensuring the maintenance of the removable lamp, even in case of impact in a direction substantially collinear with the sliding direction. The disengagement of the lamp can only be done with the will of the user, after a sufficiently complex handling to prevent accidental disconnection. The fastening device according to the invention thus constitutes a real security system.

The present invention also relates to the features which will emerge during the following description, which should be considered in isolation or in all their possible technical combinations.

For the sake of clarity, the same elements have been designated by identical references. Likewise, only the essential elements for understanding the invention have been represented, and this without regard to the scale and in a schematic manner.

Figure 1 illustrates a fastening device (1) for holding a removable lamp (2) on a firefighter protective helmet (3).

In this particular embodiment chosen solely by way of example, the fixing device (1) is composed of a support element (4) secured to a lateral part of the protective helmet (3), as well as an element hooking (5) integral with the removable lamp (2). The hooking element (5) is slidably mounted in guide means (10) arranged horizontally on the support element (4); the sliding of the fastening element (5) being blocked forward by first abutment means (20).

According to the object of the present invention, the fixing device (1) further comprises second abutment means (30) capable of blocking the sliding towards the rear of the fastening element (5) in means guide (10). In addition, the hooking element (5) is able to be inserted into the guide means (10) near the second stop means (30), in a direction of engagement substantially perpendicular to the sliding direction of said fastening element (5) in said guide means (10).

As can be seen in Figures 2 and 3, the attachment element (5) here is an integral part of the structure of the removable lamp (2). But, of course, one could very well consider a variant in which the fastening element (5) would be constituted by a sheath capable of temporarily receiving the body of the removable lamp (2). In any event, the hooking element (5) has a projection (6) at the free end (7) of which is formed orthogonally a shoulder (8) forming a pad.

As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the guide means (10) comprise two parallel grooves (11a, 11b) arranged horizontally in the support member (4), facing each other and on either side of the direction. sliding of the fastening element (5). The assembly is arranged in such a way that each guiding groove (11a, 11b) can slidably cooperate with at least a portion of the shoulder (8) of the fastening element (5), in accordance with the figure 6.

According to a feature of the invention, the hooking element (5) is pivotable at least partially in the guide means (10) along an axis orthogonal to the sliding direction. In practice, the shoulder (8) has a circular shape capable of sliding longitudinally and to rotate orthogonally in the guide grooves (11a, 11b). This conformation, perfectly visible in Figures 2 and 3, to change the orientation of the lamp (2) relative to the protective helmet (3) in a vertical plane.

It may be advantageous to be able to gradually change the inclination of the lamp (2), but also to be able to benefit from a real immobilization of said lamp in each position. Also, and according to another feature of the invention, the fixing device (1) comprises indexing means (40) capable of immobilizing the pivoting of the fastening element (5) in the guiding means ( 10) following at least two predetermined inclinations with respect to the sliding direction.

In this embodiment, the indexing means (40) comprise a projecting element (41) and three bosses (42) respectively integral with the fastening element (5) and the support element (4). According to Figure (7), the projecting element (41) is able to cooperate, on the one hand, by sliding with the free end (43) of each boss (42), and on the other hand, by blocking partially with the base (44) of each boss (42). The displacement of the projecting element (41) relative to the bosses (42) is allowed by the clearance existing between the fastening element (5) and the support element (4), and possibly by a certain elastic deformation of all. Of course, a variant with at least one boss (42) integral with the fastening element (5) and at least one projecting element (41) integral with the support element (4) would be perfectly conceivable, but quite equivalent.

According to FIGS. 4 and 5, the first abutment means (20) and the second abutment means (30) are constituted by projecting portions respectively positioned on the direction of sliding at each end of the guide means (10). Each projecting part is thus adapted to cooperate with the fastening element (5), by locking in translation in the direction of sliding.

In this embodiment, the first stop means (20) and the second stop means (30) are integral with the support member (4). They are moreover both constituted by at least one projecting portion of substantially complementary shape to a portion of the shoulder (8) provided on the fastening element (5). Of course, many other forms fulfilling the same function could be adopted.
