Definitions

  • the invention relates to backpacking devices, such as backpacks, carrying racks, baby carriers, etc.
  • These devices essentially comprise means for supporting a load (closed compartment, flexible or rigid, for backpacks, rigid frame for racks, seat for baby carriers, ...) and a system of support. portage which is generally in the form of two shoulder straps, each associated with a shoulder of the user.
  • the carrying system may include other elements, including a lap belt that allows to bear at least part of the load by the pelvis of the user, relieving the shoulders.
  • each strap is generally hooked by an upper end to an upper part of the load support means, and by a lower end to a lower portion of these support means.
  • Each strap has, between its upper and lower ends, a bearing portion which is intended to come into contact with the upper face of the shoulder of the user to transfer at least a portion of the weight of the load.
  • this support portion of the carrying system has a maximum transverse width of the order of 5 to 8 centimeters, and it is intended to be housed in the hollow of the shoulder, that is to say in the part median of the shoulder in the transverse direction. This provision is sought because it ensures a good stability of the ramp.
  • the user of such a system may eventually feel discomfort, discomfort, or even pain where the shoulder strap is pressing on the shoulder .
  • the shape and layout of the straps are such that they have a natural tendency to come to be automatically lodged in the hollow of the shoulder.
  • the invention therefore aims to propose a new design of the carrying system that allows in particular to improve the comfort and the stability of portage.
  • the invention proposes a back-carrying device according to claim 1.
  • the carrying device 10 is here of the backpack type, that is to say that it comprises a resealable compartment 12 for containing objects forming the load in range.
  • This compartment 12 is intended to be worn against the back of the user, and it is in this case composed of flexible fabric panels.
  • the compartment 12 has a certain thickness, and on the figure 2 it can be seen that it is delimited transversely by two lateral faces 14, 16 and that it has an upper portion 18 and a lower portion 20. figure 2 , we see that the compartment 12 has, in its rear face 22 visible when the bag is worn, a vertical central opening which is closed by a zipper 24 and which gives access to the interior of the compartment 12.
  • the carrying device is provided with a carrying system which comprises a pair of shoulder straps 26 and an abdominal belt 28.
  • each strap 26 is secured, by an upper end 30, of the upper portion 18 of the compartment 12, and, by a lower end 32, the lower portion 20 of the compartment 12.
  • each strap 26 is thus intended to pass over one of the shoulders of the user, and to extend along of its rib cage, deviating laterally outwardly and rearwardly to reach, at its lower end 32, the lower portion 20 of the compartment 12 which is arranged substantially in the lower back of the user.
  • the straps 26 are inextensible, or have limited and controlled extensibility.
  • the shoulder straps 26 and the abdominal belt 28 are of adjustable length.
  • the shoulder straps 26 are provided with an anti-separation strap 27 which joins them transversely detachably in their front part.
  • the carrying system comprises, for each shoulder, a support yoke 34 which covers the said shoulder of the user transversely at least to the lateral end 36 of the shoulder.
  • the yoke extends at least slightly beyond this end of the shoulder.
  • the support yoke 34 consists of an enlarged part of each of the shoulder straps 26.
  • This support yoke 34 thus extends substantially in a direction transverse to the shoulder strap so as to cover the upper surface of the shoulder, substantially from the base of the neck to the end of the shoulder, the end of the shoulder included. According to the invention, it is important that the support yoke 34 comes to cover this end so as to bear on the bone part of the end of the shoulder also called acromion. In this way, the support yoke 34, an integral part of the carrying system, allows to postpone part of the weight of the load on this bone part of the shoulder, which relieves all the central part of the shoulder which, in the devices of the prior art, alone supports the entire load.
  • the support yoke 34 is formed of a simple substantially inextensible fabric panel which is bonded, for example by stitching, to the outer edge of the strap. It covers the upper part of the shoulder and descends slightly a few centimeters on the front and on the back, so as to have a vaulted profile that on the one hand allows it to wrap the upper part of the shoulder and which on the other hand gives it a certain rigidity.
  • the yoke 34 has a trailing edge 46 which extends substantially in the transverse direction of the shoulder, and that the transverse lateral edge 46 is connected to the corresponding lateral face 14 the resealable compartment 12 by a dorsal extension 44 which is in the form of an extensible textile.
  • This dorsal extension 44 makes it possible to firmly press the support yoke on the shoulder and thus to transfer a portion of the load onto the end of the shoulder.
  • FIG. 3 to 7 there is shown a second embodiment of the invention particularly suitable for designing backpacks for the practice of dynamic sports activities such as mountain biking, running, etc.
  • the carrying system comprises the same resealable compartment 12 as that described for the first embodiment.
  • the carrying device comprises shoulder straps 26 each provided with a support yoke 34, but the shoulder straps 26 and the support pieces 34 are integrated with sleeves 38 which surround at minus the upper part of each arm of the user.
  • each shoulder strap 26 forms, in the front portion of the carrying system, the inner transverse edge of the corresponding sleeve 38, while the bearing yoke 34 forms the portion of the sleeve that extends transversely outwardly. from the shoulder strap 26, along the upper face of the shoulder, and which descends along the outer face of the upper arm, for example substantially up to mid-height between the shoulder and the elbow.
  • the parts of the sleeve 38 which form the shoulder strap 26 and the support yoke 34 are preferably substantially inextensible or very limited extensibility.
  • the sleeve 38 is advantageously made of fabric panels which are preferably fabric Extensible wide mesh allowing great freedom of movement and very good ventilation.
  • the support yoke 34 is shaped to best fit the shape of the shoulder of the user, and more particularly the shape of the end 36 of the shoulder which forms a protrusion, this form of protuberance being one of the reasons why the prior art did not use this area of the shoulder as a portage area, because the traditional shoulder straps, of too small width, could not maintain stably.
  • This adaptation of the yoke 34 to the shape of the shoulder can be obtained by traditional techniques of making, for example by arranging seams and clamps in appropriate places. It can also be obtained by providing the piece with a formable material, for example thermoformable, such as a foam. It will be particularly advantageous to double the support insert foam (or other cushioning material), for even greater stability of the carrying system, and for even more wearing comfort.
  • the strap 26 and the support yoke 34 are connected to each other inextensible way in the area 41 corresponding to the upper face of the shoulder. These two elements can be made in one piece, or in two pieces juxtaposed or partially superimposed.
  • the front portion 40 of the sleeve 34 is connected firstly to the front edge 42 of the support yoke 34, and secondly to the shoulder strap 26 (at the front). This front portion 40 of the sleeve, which is extensible, therefore connects the strap to the support yoke.
  • the rear portion 42 of the sleeve 38 has a dorsal extension 44 which is also made of wide mesh fabric and extensible and which is linked by one of its edges to the rear edge 46 of the support yoke 34, and by another of its edges to the corresponding lateral face 14 of the resealable compartment 12.
  • the support piece 34 is elastically connected firstly to the front portion of the shoulder strap 26 and on the other hand to the charge. This results in a better transmission of forces due to the weight of the load on the end of the shoulder.
  • the support yoke 34, and therefore the strap 26, being linked to the sleeve 38 they remain perfectly in place on the shoulder, even during the practice of very dynamic sports, such as for example the race. mountain that sometimes requires small jumps, and where the arms have an important balance role for the maintenance of balance.
  • the load contained in the reclosable compartment is therefore particularly well maintained, especially in the lateral direction, which limits parasitic movements of the load, which can easily unbalance the user.
  • the wearing comfort is improved by a distribution of the carrying forces on a larger area of the shoulder, but mainly because a part of these efforts are reported on the end zone of the shoulder, bone area much less sensitive than the part of the shoulder located near the base of the neck.
  • the support yoke extends beyond the end of the shoulder and down the arm, it can be provided that the support yoke comprises a small storage space that can for example accommodate keys or papers.
