Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing packs (23) from at least two partial packs (25, 26) for one group of packs (21, 22) each of especially cuboid (cigarette) packs (20), whereby a single-piece cut (24) is folded along (embossed) fold lines (46, 47) around the group of packs (21, 22) in such a manner that opposite interior walls (27) of the partial packs (25, 26) are folded in between the group of packs (21, 22) in the shape of a V. The invention is characterized in that the substantially flat cut (24) is conveyed along a cut conveyor belt (36) and is at least partially collected during transport in such a manner that the interior walls (27) are folded in the shape of a V along fold lines (46) that are arranged at an angle to the direction of transport. The invention further relates to a corresponding device for carrying out the inventive method.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing packages from at least two part packs for each pack group of particular cuboid cigarette packs, wherein a one-piece blank is folded around the pack groups along fold lines such that mutually facing inner walls of the pack packs are folded in a V-shape between the pack groups according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for producing such packages, according to the preamble of claim 4.

Packages of the aforementioned type are used, for example, to accommodate groups of packages with multiple cigarette packs and are often referred to in practice as (double) cigarette rods. The packaging is divisible, such that the two sub-packages each form independent units, with a group of packages consisting of several, for example, five packets of cigarettes. In order to enable the parts to be divided, the part packs can be connected to one another in the region of a perforating separating edge. When putting the packaging into use, the perforation of the separating edge can be severed by breaking the part packs. Such packages are for example from the DE 42 00 921 known.

From this prior art, an apparatus and a method for producing such packages is already known. In this case, blanks are fed to a folding turret and prefolded for receiving the packing groups. For V-shaped folding of the inner walls of the blank, the blanks are pressed into pockets of the folding turret. In the pockets Faltorgane are arranged, namely thin-walled Faltschwerter, which are designed pointed outward or sharp-edged outward. When impressing the blanks, these are wrapped around the folding blades, to form the V-shaped folding of the inner walls. A disadvantage of this solution is the complex Structure of the folding turret, which has a plurality of movable organs and thus is relatively prone to failure. Another disadvantage is that in the described folding of the blanks, the folding tabs in the region of the separating edge come to rest on the blank. This can also lead to an unwanted separation of the perforation.

Similar methods and devices of the aforementioned type are also known from US 4,932,534 A and the US 5,181,607 A known. There are also folding blades used, which bring the disadvantages mentioned with it.

On this basis, the invention has the object, further develop a device or a method of the type mentioned, in particular such that an unwanted division of the packaging in partial packages can be reliably avoided.

To solve this problem, the device according to the invention has the features of claim 4.

An advantage of this solution is that the blank for forming the V-shaped fold need not be pressed into pockets of a revolver or the like, so that the risk of damage is significantly reduced. On the use of Faltorganen that act on the folding of the blank on this, can be completely dispensed with, so that the device works very gentle to the material.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the blank web is associated with a stop for a front edge of the blank in the transport direction. As far as the blank is further conveyed in the direction of transport after contact with the stop, a partial folding of the blank along the transverse fold lines results. In this way, the V-shaped folding of the inner walls can be easily formed.

To transport the blanks along the blank path, drive means, for example drive rollers or rollers, can be provided, which convey the blank for damming in the transport direction. To control the folding process, the drive means are preferably arranged such that they end at a distance before the stop such that the blank can no longer be conveyed by the drive means after correct (V-shaped) folding and thus rests in the blank path as a folded blank. In this case, the blank is preferably arranged such that the V-shaped folded inner walls are directed transversely to the plane of the blank web, whereas the rest of the blank is positioned substantially in the plane of the blank web.

In the pre-folded blank, the groups of packages can be promoted. For this purpose, it is provided that the packing groups are transported along a packing web against the prefolded blank, wherein the V-shaped folded inner walls between the layers of the packing groups occur. The pack groups can be further transported in the package web, taking along the blank. The blank is folded in a U-shape around the groups of cigarettes. This can preferably take place in that the packing groups are conveyed with the blank through an opening, with folding of the outer walls of the blank against the packing groups. In a preferred embodiment, the opening is formed by conveyor belts or conveyor belt of a discharge conveyor, which is arranged in extension of the package path.

Further special features of the device according to the invention relate to the connection of side flaps of the blank during the continuous transport on the discharge conveyor as well as the feeding of the packing groups to the prefolded blanks.

A method for achieving the object mentioned has the features of claim 1.

The advantages of this method lie in the material-saving treatment of the blanks described at the outset. An unwanted separation of the part packs can be reliably prevented.

Further embodiments of the device according to the invention and the method according to the invention are set forth in the dependent claims and the description of the rest.

Im gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel besteht jede Packungsgruppe 21, 22 aus fünf Zigarettenpackungen 20.The device shown in the figures is concerned with the production of packaging gene 23 for a plurality of parallelepipedic small packs, namely cigarette packs 20. Two pack groups 21, 22 of these packs of cigarettes 20 are accommodated in a pack 23 also called cigarette rod. The package 23 consists of a one-piece blank 24 of thin cardboard or other suitable packaging material. The packaging 23 formed therefrom has two partial packs 25, 26, each for receiving a pack group 21, 22 of the cigarette packs 20. In the exemplary embodiment shown, each pack group 21, 22 consists of five cigarette packs 20.

The blank 24 is designed so that two partial packages 25, 26 completely enveloping the package contents are formed, each with inner wall 27, opposite outer wall 28, a first longitudinal side wall 29 and a second longitudinal side wall 30. The second longitudinal side wall 30 is formed by two side flaps 31, 32 formed, which are beaten and glued together. For this purpose, the side tabs 31 larger dimensions, namely a greater depth than the side tabs 32, so that after folding of the blank and feeding the packing groups, the side tabs 31, 32 can be folded over each other with a coverage area. The connection of the side flaps 31, 32 in the region of the longitudinal side wall 30 represents a temporary closure of the package 23. The side flaps 31, 32 are provided with a so-called Stick-no-stick glue connected. For attaching control marks on the cigarette packs 20, the package 23 can be easily opened in this way.

To form smaller sales units, the package 23 can be divided into the two part packs 25, 26. For this purpose, the blank 24 consists of two substantially harmoniously formed halves, depending on the formation of a partial pack 25, 26. The halves are joined together in the region of mutually facing edges of the inner wall 27 by an edge joint 33 to form a unit, so to a one-piece blank 24. Die Edge connection 33 consists in the present case of long punched cuts not shown and a few short residual connections through which a perforation or a perforation line is formed, which preferably extends completely along the mutually facing edges of the inner walls 27. The two halves of the blank 24 are formed in the embodiment shown apart from the dimension of the side tabs 31, 32 coincident.

The end walls 34 of the package 23 and the part packs 25, 26 are made of specially designed end lobe 35. These are folded with partial overlap and gluing.

The above-described or similarly formed packages 23 are manufactured in a packaging machine as shown in FIG Fig. 4 ff. is shown. This takes place in the region of a folding station 36. The blanks 24 are taken from a blank magazine 37, by a known from the prior art dispenser 38. The blanks 24 are thereafter fed along a blank web 39 of the folding station 36. In the blank web 39, the blanks 24 are transported substantially flat, ie lying flat and unfolded, with front flaps 35 directed transversely to the transport direction.

The transport along the blank web 39 is effected by a plurality of drive roller pairs 40, 41, which serve as drive means 42. The drive roller pairs 40, 41 are arranged on both sides of the blank web 39 at the same height. In each case, two drive rollers 40; 41 arranged on a common shaft 43. The drive roller pairs 40, 41 abut against the flat blanks 24 and transport them by counter-rotating movement along the blank web 39.

In the folding station 36, the blanks 24 are prepared for the feeding of the packing groups 21, 22, namely prefolded. A special feature is the way in which the inner walls 27 of a blank 24 are folded in a V-shape while the blank 24 is transported in the plane of the blank web 39. For this purpose, the blank 24 is namely dammed, so that the inner walls 27 get into the desired V-shaped position. The damming of the blank 24 takes place in the illustrated embodiment in that it is transported by the pairs of drive rollers 40, 41 against a stop 44 associated with the folding station. After a front lying in the conveying direction edge of the blank 24 has received contact with the stop 44, the feed on the Antriebrollenpaare 40, 41 continues until the blank 24, the in Fig. 7 The inner walls are folded in a V-shape, whereas the blank 24 is otherwise held flat in the plane of the blank web 39. In this case, the inner walls 27 are transverse to the plane of the blank web 39, namely approximately perpendicular thereto or in the illustrated embodiment, approximately horizontally aligned ( Fig. 7 ).

Der Schenkel 78 dient als Leitorgan für die Stirnlappen 35 des Zuschnitts 24 im Bereich der Innenwände 27 in der V-förmig gefalteten Stellung gemäß Fig. 7.The exact control of the damming process is as follows: As in Fig. 9 it can be seen that the blank is held on the abutment 44 partially in the region of transverse end tabs 35 by guides 45 in the plane of the blank path 39. The guides 45 are arranged such that at the level of the inner walls 27 no guides 45 are arranged, ie the end tabs 35 in the region of the inner walls 27 are not held by the guides 45 in the plane of the blank path 39. In this way, the inner walls 27 can swing out of the plane of the blank web 39 during the damming of the blank 24 until reaching the in Fig. 7 shown position. The inner walls 27 are thus automatically deflected into the position shown. As can be seen from the comparison of Fig. 6 and 9 results, the guides 45 on a transversely directed leg 78 which is disposed above the folded inner walls 27. The leg 78 serves as a guide member for the end flaps 35 of the blank 24 in the region of the inner walls 27 in the V-shaped folded position according to Fig. 7 ,

After completion of the above-described prefolding of the blank 24, so after reaching the in Fig. 7 shown arrangement, the blank 24 is no longer with the Drive roller pairs 40, 41 in contact. For this purpose, the drive roller pairs 40, 41 are arranged at a distance from the stop 44 such that the blank 24 automatically runs out of the area of action of the drive roller pairs 40, 41 when the prefolding is completed. In this way, the drive roller pairs 40, 41 can be driven continuously and need not be stopped.

The damming of the blanks 24 can basically be done in other ways. It is conceivable, for example, that further drive roller pairs are provided at the location of the stop 44, which run slower than the drive roller pairs 40, 41, or even convey the blank counter to the transport direction of the drive roller pairs 40, 41. In this way, the above-described prefolding can also be effected. The stop 44 may be formed as in the embodiment shown as a multi-folded sheet metal, which is arranged in the region of a free end of the blank sheet 39.

How out Fig. 1 it can be seen the walls 27 to 30 of the blank 24 by (embossed) fold lines 46 or the like connected to each other. Further fold lines 47 are arranged between end lobes 35 and the side walls 27 to 29. The fold lines 46 support the pre-folding of the blank 24 with V-shaped folded inner walls 27 according to Fig. 7 , The blank 24 is folded during the damming along the transverse to the transport direction fold lines 47 in the region of the inner walls 27.

The blank track 39 runs as in Fig. 4 initially shown inclined in the transport direction and then in an upright plane which is preferably directed approximately vertically. Transverse to this section of the blank web 39, namely preferably directed horizontally, runs a conveying path for cigarette packs 20, which are conveyed along a packing web 48. The blank web 39 and the package web intersect or intersect at the folding station 36.

Along the horizontally oriented packing web 48, cigarette packs 20 in the form of packing groups 21, 22 are transported. Each pack group 21, 22 consists of five cigarette packs 20 arranged side by side in the same plane. How out Fig. 6 and 7 can be seen, the packing groups 21, 22 are arranged in layers one above the other and are by a turret 49 in the packing web 48 promoted. The (two) pockets 50 of the revolver 49 have a horizontally directed separating web 51, so that in each pocket 50 of the revolver 49 (upper and lower) receptacles 52, 53 are formed for each pack group 21, 22.

The packing groups 21, 22 are lifted or pivoted by the revolver 49 into the plane of the packing web 48 in such a way that the packing group 21 in the upper receptacle 52 is preferably arranged slightly above the V-shaped and tapered inner walls 27 ( Fig. 7 ). In this case, the packing group 21 is arranged in the lower receptacle 53 slightly below the folded inner walls 27. By a slider 54, the two pack groups 21, 22 transported against the pre-folded blank 24 in such a way that the upper packing group 21 comes to rest on the folded inner walls 27, while the lower packing group 22 pushed below the folded inner walls 27 against the blank 24 becomes. As can be seen from the figures, the turret 49 is arranged at a lateral distance from the blanking web 39 in order not to obstruct the damming of the blanks 24.

So that the lower packing group 22 does not fall down during transport against the blank 24, an up and down bridge 55 is provided. The bridge 55 is lowered in a rest position ( Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 ). Before the transport of the pack groups 21, 22 against the pre-folded blank 24, the bridge 55 is moved to an upper position, in which it supports the lower packing group 22 on the underside.

To continue the folding of the blank 24, the transport of the packing groups 21, 22 along the packing web 48 is continued, U-shaped entrainment of the blank 24, whereby outer walls 28 of the blank 24 are folded against corresponding surfaces of the packing groups 21, 22 ( Fig. 8 ). In the embodiment shown, this is done by the package groups 21, 22 are promoted by entraining the blank 24 through an opening 56 which is formed between two conveyor belts 57, 58 and conveyor belt 80, 81 of a discharge conveyor 63. Alternatively, it is conceivable that the pack groups 21, 22 are pressed together with the blank 24 in a pocket-shaped receptacle, for example, a folding turret. The two conveyor belts 57, 58 are arranged above or below the packing web 48, such that a lower run 59 of the upper conveyor belt 57 and an upper run 60 of the lower conveyor belt 58 parallel to and at a distance from each other, which is about the height of the two Pack groups 21, 22 corresponds. The outer walls 28 of the blank 24 are brought in this way to rest against large side surfaces of the packing groups 21, 22. The conveyor belts 57, 58 each have spaced dogs 61, 62. The driver 61 on the lower run 59 come to rest on longitudinal side walls 29 of the packaging 23 which are in the transport direction forward. Carrier 62 on the upper strand 60 come to rest on a lower part of the rear side in the transport direction longitudinal side wall 30, wherein at the same time the side flap 32 is folded against the lower packing group 22 ( Fig. 5 ). The other side tab 31 is not yet folded at this time and is parallel to the package web 48 of the pack groups 21, 22 from.

When inserting the pack groups 21, 22 into the discharge conveyor 63, the blank 23 is pulled out of the guides 45 of the blank web 39. In order to ensure a controlled sliding out of the blank 24 from the blank web 39, a guide plate 87 is arranged in the region of the stop 44. The baffle 87 extends away from the stop 44 in the plane of the blank web 39 away from the opening 56 obliquely downward ( Fig. 5 to 8 ). When inserting the groups of packs 21, 22 into the discharge conveyor 63, an upper part of the blank 24 comes to bear on the guide plate 87, so that a possible sudden folding of the blank 24 is prevented. For this purpose, a lower edge 88 of the guide plate 87 extends obliquely, for example approximately V-shaped.

A special feature of the discharge conveyor 63 is that the conveyor belts 57, 58, a further endless conveyor 79 is arranged upstream. The endless conveyor 79 consists of two rubber-coated conveyor belts 80, 81, each with an upper run 82 and a lower run 83, which are arranged in the same plane as the conveyor belts 57, 58. The conveyor belts 80, 81 are guided over guide rollers 84, which are each rotatably mounted on shafts 85, 86. The endless conveyor 79 serves to accommodate the partially folded around the packing groups 21, 22 blank 24 in the discharge conveyor 63 and for transfer to the conveyor belts 57, 58. The conveyor belts 57, 58 and the conveyor belts 80, 81 are guided over common shafts 86 and can be driven together this way. In this way it is also ensured that the drivers 60, 61 run into the region of the conveyor belts 80, 81 and thus a reliable transfer of the packages 23 is ensured.

The device is operated in such a way that the blanks 23 are removed individually from the blank magazine 37 and transported along the blank web 39 by the drive roller pairs 40, 41. After installation of the side flap 30 on the stop 44, the blank 23 is dammed up, whereby this bends out in the region of the inner walls 27 such that the inner walls 27 are folded around the fold lines 46 V-fömig. The remaining side walls 28 to 31 are held by guides 45 in the plane of the board web 39. During the damming of the blank 23, two groups of packs 21, 22 are lifted or pivoted with the revolver 49 into a packing web 48 and pushed against the pre-folded blank 23 by a slide 54 from the revolver 49 during a stoppage of the revolver 49. form-folded inner walls 27 between the layer-wise arranged packing groups 21, 22 occur. By the slider 54 pack groups 21, 22 further pushed under U-shaped entrainment of the blank 23 between conveyor belts 57, 58 and conveyor belt 80, 81 of a discharge conveyor 63, wherein outer walls 28 of the blank 23 against the packing groups 21, 22 are folded. During the further transport side tabs 31 are folded by arranged on the conveyor belt 58 driver 62 against the lower packing group 22. Thereafter, the end flaps 35 are folded against each other during the continuous transport of the package 23 between the conveyor belts 57, 58 and glued together by glue.

Following the preferably horizontally directed discharge conveyor 63, the packages 23 are transferred to further revolvers 64 driven in rotation. The revolver 64 has four pockets 65 for receiving one package 23. During rotation of the revolver 64 of the radially projecting side tabs 31 is pressed by an arcuate guide member 66 against the already folded side tabs 32. The guide member 66 holds the side flaps 31, 32 in this position until the package 23 reaches a glue station 67, in which the side flaps 31, 32 are connected with a stick-no-stick glue. For this purpose, the gluing station 67 is associated with a gluing unit 68, which operates during a brief standstill of the cyclically driven revolver 64. Due to the restoring forces of the material of the blank 23, the side tabs 31 aligns again as soon as it is no longer pressed against the other side tabs 32 by the guide member 66. The gluing of the side lobes 31, 32 takes place immediately after the side tabs 31 has straightened up again.

Subsequently, the packages 23 are transported further in the horizontal direction, namely on a top flange 69 of an (endless) conveyor 70. The conveyor 70 has drivers 71 between which the packages 23 are held. The conveyor 70 runs in the illustrated embodiment between turret discs 72 of the turret 64 wherein the drivers 71 together with correspondingly distributed on the circumference of the turret discs 72 projections 73, the pockets 65 of the revolver 64 form. The upper belt 69 of the conveyor 70 is adjoined by a vertical conveyor 74, which has entrainment means 75 arranged on the outside. The packages 23 are transported against a belt 76 of the vertical conveyor 74 and detected on the underside by a driver 75 and conveyed upwards. During transport to the vertical conveyor 74 is provided on the front wall of the package 23 with a label 77. Following the vertical conveyor 74, the packages 23 can be transferred to a cartoner, for example.

The supply of the cigarette packs 20 to the revolver 49 will be described below, although this is a preferred embodiment of the device, but it does not necessarily have to be used. The cigarette packs 20 are transported by a cellophaning machine on two axially parallel conveyors 89, 90. Each conveyor 89, 90 consists of two guided over deflection rollers endless conveyors 91 which are arranged in parallel and one above the other, so that between the mutually facing Trumen the endless conveyor 91 two flat superposed cigarette packs 20 can be transported. The cigarette packs 20 are therefore supplied in two lanes, namely in two parallel rows 92, 93 of two superimposed cigarette packs 20. To form the pack groups 21, 22 from two superimposed layers of five cigarette packs 20 are the conveyors 89, 90 associated with brake members 94 , which can be moved laterally against the cigarette pack flow, thus providing spaces between the cigarette packs 20, to form the pack groups 21, 22. A specially designed slide 95 takes by movement transverse to the rows 92, 93, the pack groups 21, 22nd from the rows 92, 93. The removal of the groups of packs 21, 22 takes place subsequent to the conveyors 89, 90. For this purpose, following the conveyors 89, 90, a platform 98, 99 can be arranged, onto which the pack groups 21, 22 are transported. Alternatively, it is provided in the embodiment shown that the overhead endless conveyor 91 before the work area of the slider 95 terminate, so that the groups of packages 21, 22 rest freely on the lower side endless conveyors 91.

The slider 95 is designed as a double slide with two slide walls 96, 97 which are each associated with a row 92, 93. In a first operating cycle of the slider 95, groups of packs 21, 22 of the row 92 are inserted into the receptacles 52, 53 of a pocket 50 of the revolver 49 moved past the platform 98 via the platform 98 arranged in the plane of the lower endless conveyors 91. By an offset 100 in the slide wall 96, the upper packing group 21 projects in the transport direction with respect to the lower packing group 22. In this way, the pack group 21 can still be inserted during the rotational movement of the revolver 49 in this, the packing group 21 is first pushed onto the divider 51 and is slightly lifted by the continuous rotation of the revolver 49 of the lower packing group 22. Upon further rotation of the revolver 49 and further deportation of the packing groups 21, 22 through the sliding wall 96, the packing groups 21, 22 are inserted into the receptacles 52, 53 of the pocket 50 of the revolver 49.

The pack groups 21, 22 from the row 92 are meanwhile pushed off through the slider wall 97 via the platform 99 arranged between the lower endless conveyors 91 up to the platform 98. From there, they are conveyed in a second working cycle of the slider 95 through the slider walls 96 into the next pocket 50 of the revolver 49 moved past the platform 98. For detecting the subsequent pack groups 21, 22, the slider 95 is lifted and lowered after returning to an initial position.
