Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Speicherleuchtstoffplatte zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation mit einer Speicherleuchtstoffschicht zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation und einer Substratschicht (3), auf welcher die Speicherleuchtstoffschicht aufgebracht ist. Zur Erhöhung der Ebenheit der Speicherleuchtstoffschicht bei gleichzeitig hoher mechanischer Flexibilität ist vorgesehen, als Substratschicht (3) einen Faserverbundwerkstoff zu verwenden, welcher aus einem mit Fasern (6) in Form eines Gewebes (5) verstärkten Kunststoff gebildet wird. <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Speicherleuchtstoffplatte zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation sowie ein entsprechendes Auslesegerät zum Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte gespeicherten Röntgeninformation gemäß dem Oberbegriff der Ansprüche 1 bzw. 8.
Röntgenbilder können in sogenannten Speicherphosphoren gespeichert werden, wobei die durch ein Objekt, beispielsweise einen Patienten, hindurchtretende Röntgenstrahlung als latentes Bild in einer Phosphorschicht gespeichert wird. Zum Auslesen des latenten Bildes wird die Phosphorschicht mit Stimulationslicht bestrahlt und dabei zur Aussendung von Emissionslicht angeregt. Das Emissionslicht, dessen Intensität dem in der Phosphorschicht gespeicherten Bild entspricht, wird von einem optischen Detektor erfasst und in elektrische Signale umgewandelt. Die elektrischen Signale werden nach Bedarf weiterverarbeitet und schließlich für eine Auswertung, insbesondere zu medizinisch-diagnostischen Zwecken, bereitgestellt, indem sie an einem entsprechenden Ausgabegerät, wie z. B. ein Monitor oder Drucker, ausgegeben werden.
Aus dem Stand der Technik sind Speicherleuchtstoffplatten bekannt, bei welchen eine Speicherleuchtstoffschicht auf eine Substratschicht aus Aluminium aufgebracht ist. Bei diesen Speicherleuchtstoffplatten kann die in bestimmten Anwendungsfällen erforderliche Ebenheit der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nicht immer gewährleistet werden. So kann es beispielsweise infolge von kleineren Biegungen oder Stößen zu bleibenden Deformationen der Substratschicht kommen, welche die Genauigkeit beim Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffschicht gespeicherten Röntgeninformation beeinträchtigen.
Es ist Aufgabe der Erfindung, eine Speicherleuchtstoffplatte anzugeben, bei welcher eine möglichst hohe Ebenheit, insbesondere nach Biegungen oder Stößen, bei gleichzeitig hoher mechanischer Flexibilität erreicht wird.
Diese Aufgabe wird gemäß Anspruch 1 dadurch gelöst, dass die Substratschicht einen Faserverbundwerkstoff umfasst, welcher aus einem mit Fasern in Form eines Gewebes verstärkten Kunststoff gebildet wird.
Die Erfindung basiert auf dem Gedanken, als Substratschicht eine mit Fasern verstärkte Kunststoffschicht zu verwenden, wobei die Fasern in Form eines Gewebes in den Kunststoff eingebettet sind. Durch das sich über die gesamte Fläche der Substratschicht erstreckende Fasergewebe wird eine Verstärkung des Kunststoffs über die gesamte Substratschicht erzielt. Die Substratschicht zeichnet sich durch ein entsprechend hohes Maß an Steifigkeit und damit Ebenheit im Bereich ihrer gesamten Fläche bei gleichzeitig hoher mechanischer Flexibilität aus. Insbesondere ist die erfindungsgemäße Speicherleuchtstoffplatte äußerst robust gegenüber Beschädigungen oder bleibenden Deformationen infolge von Verbiegung oder Stößen.
Bei dem für die Substratschicht verwendeten Kunststoff handelt es sich vorzugsweise um ein Kunstharz. Hierbei ist Epoxid-, Silikon-, Melamin-, Phenol-, Polyimid-oder Polyesterharz besonders geeignet. Das Gewebe ist vorzugsweise aus Kunstfasern gewebt, wie z. B. Glas-, Kunststoff-, Aramid- oder Polyesterfasern.
Zur Herstellung von Substratschichten mit besonders hoher Steifigkeit einerseits und mechanischer Flexibilität andererseits wird der Faserverbundwerkstoff bevorzugt aus einem mit einem Gewebe aus Glasfasern oder Kohlenstofffasern verstärkten Epoxidharz gebildet.
Im Falle eines mit einem Gewebe aus Glasfasern verstärkten Expoxidharzes sind folgende Typen von Faserverbundwerkstoffen, u.a. aufgrund ihres Elastizitiätsmoduls sowie ihrer Biegefestigkeit und Schlagzähigkeit, besonders bevorzugt:
  • Hgw 2372, Hgw 2372.1, Hgw 2372.4 oder Hgw 2372.4 H gemäß der deutschen Norm DIN 7735 oder
  • G10, G11 oder FR4 gemäß der US-Norm NEMA L1.
Vorzugsweise sind die Fasern bzw. Garne des Gewebes in Leinwandbindung gewebt. Aufgrund der Leinwandbindung des verwendeten Gewebes wird eine äußerst isotrope, d. h. richtungsunabhängige, mechanische Verstärkung des Kunststoffes der Substratschicht erreicht. Auf diese Weise wird ein hohes Maß an Ebenheit der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte in beiden Richtungen der Plattenfläche gleichermaßen gewährleistet.
Eine weitere bevorzugte Ausgestaltung der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte sieht vor, dass die Substratschicht eine Solldicke zwischen etwa 0,1 mm und 4 mm aufweist. In diesem Solldickenbereich ist eine für viele Anwendungen ausreichend hohe Flexibilität bei gleichzeitig hoher Steifigkeit gewährleistet. In besonderem Maße werden diese Eigenschaften in einem Bereich der Solldicke zwischen etwa 0,5 mm und 2 mm erreicht.
Es ist außerdem bevorzugt, dass zumindest eine Oberfläche der Substratschicht Dickenschwankungen von weniger als ± 100 µm gegenüber einer Solldicke aufweist. Auf diese Weise wird die erfindungsgemäß erreichte hohe Steifigkeit der Substratschicht mit einer glatten Beschaffenheit ihrer Oberfläche kombiniert, was zu einem sehr hohen Maß an Ebenheit der auf die Substratschicht aufgebrachten Speicherleuchtstoffschicht führt. Bei Dickenschwankungen von weniger als ± 20 µm wird neben einer besonders hohen Ebenheit auch der Vorteil erzielt, dass sich die Speicherleuchtstoffschicht mit einer besonders homogenen Dicke auf die Substratschicht aufbringen lässt. Eine entsprechend hohe Güte der Oberfläche kann beispielsweise bereits beim Pressen der Substratschicht mit entsprechend ausgestalteten Presswerkzeugen oder im Anschluss daran durch Schleifen und/oder Lackieren der Oberfläche erreicht werden.
Das entsprechende Auslesegerät zum Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte gespeicherten Röntgeninformation umfasst die erfindungsgemäße Speicherleuchtstoffplatte, eine Einrichtung zum Transportieren und/oder Halten der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte in einer im Wesentlichen ebenen Lage sowie einen Lesekopf zum Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte gespeicherten Röntgeninformation während die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte in der im Wesentlichen ebenen Lage transportiert bzw. gehalten wird.
Gegenüber den aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Speicherleuchtstoffplatten lässt sich die erfindungsgemäße Speicherleuchtstoffplatte in solchen Auslesegeräten mit besonders hoher Genauigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit auslesen, da sie äußerst unempfindlich gegenüber Stößen oder Verbiegungen bei deren Entnahme aus einer Röntgenkassette sowie beim anschließenden Transportieren bzw. Halten der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte während des Auslesens ist. Selbst nach größeren Verbiegungen oder Erschütterungen beim Handling der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nimmt diese ihre ursprüngliche ebene Form wieder ein und kann mit hoher Genauigkeit ausgelesen werden.
Weitere Merkmale und Vorteile der Erfindung ergeben sich aus der folgenden Beschreibung bevorzugter Ausführungsformen und Anwendungsbeispiele, wobei Bezug auf die beigefügten Zeichnungen genommen wird.

Fig. 1 zeigt eine Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 in Seitenansicht. Eine Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation ist hierbei auf einer Substratschicht 3 aufgebracht.
Als Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 dienen beispielsweise in einem Binder gebundene Speicherphosphorpartikel auf der Basis von halogenisierten und mit Europium aktivierten Bariumfluorid-Verbindungen (z.B. BaFBrxI1-x:Eu2+) oder im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Ebene der Substratschicht 3 verlaufende nadelförmige Strukturen auf der Basis von mit Europium aktivierten Cäsiumhalogenid-Verbindungen (CsX:Eu, X= F, Cl, Br, I). Aufgrund ihres Aufbaus werden die entsprechenden Speicherleuchtstoffschichten auch als Powder-Image-Plates (PIP) bzw. Needle-Image-Plates (NIP) bezeichnet. Details zur Herstellung und Eigenschaften solcher Speicherleuchtstoffschichten können beispielsweise aus der europäischen Patentanmeldung EP 1 065 524 A2 entnommen werden.
Im Falle von Powder-Image-Plates wird die Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 im Allgemeinen mittels einer Klebstoffschicht (nicht dargestellt) auf die Substratschicht 3 aufgeklebt.
Bei Needle-Image-Plates dagegen werden die entsprechenden Nadelstrukturen der Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 durch Aufwachsen in einem gezielt gesteuerten Wachstumsprozess auf die Substratschicht 3 aufgebracht. Hierfür ist meist eine geeignete Zwischenschicht (nicht dargestellt) zwischen der Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 und der Substratschicht 3 erforderlich, welche als Träger für die aufzuwachsenden Nadelstrukturen geeignet ist. Eine solche Zwischenschicht kann beispielsweise eine dünne Aluminiumbeschichtung sein, welche beispielsweise durch Aufdampfen auf die Substratschicht 3 erzeugt wird. Die Dicke der Zwischenschicht ist hierbei so gewählt, dass die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Substratschicht 3 im Wesentlichen nicht beeinflusst werden, und beträgt typischerweise nur einige Mikrometer.
Fig. 2 zeigt eine Draufsicht auf die Substratschicht 3 der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Speicherleuchtstoffplatte. Die Substratschicht 3 besteht erfindungsgemäß aus einem mit einem Gewebe verstärkten Kunststoff. Zur Veranschaulichung der Erfindung ist ein quadratischer Ausschnitt 4 der Substratschicht 3 stark vergrößert dargestellt. In dieser vergrößerten Darstellung ist das Gewebe 5 zu erkennen, welches aus einzelnen Fäden oder Garnen 6 gewebt ist.
Im dargestellten Beispiel weist das Gewebe 5 eine sogenannte Leinwandbindung auf, wodurch eine besonders gleichmäßige Verstärkungswirkung durch das Gewebe 5 in beiden Richtungen der Ebene der Substratschicht 3 erreicht wird. Alternativ können aber auch andere Gewebeformen verwendet werden, wie z. B. eine Köper-, Atlas-, Unidirektional- oder Scheindreherbindung.
Vorzugsweise wird als Gewebe 5 ein sogenanntes Filamentgewebe verwendet, bei welchem ein aus einer Vielzahl von einzelnen Filamenten zusammengesetztes Garn verwebt wird. Typische Filamentdurchmesser liegen zwischen etwa 5 und 10 µm, typische Garne enthalten typischerweise zwischen 1000 und 12000 Filamente, was einer Garnstärke zwischen 1 K und 12 K entspricht.
Vorzugsweise werden erfindungsgemäße Substratschichten aus mit Kunstharz imprägniertem Gewebe, einem sogenannten Prepreg, hergestellt, welches unter Wärme und Druck zu einer entsprechenden Platte aus Faserverbundwerkstoff ausgehärtet wird.
Im Folgenden werden zwei besonders vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der erfindungsgemäßen Speicherleuchtstoffplatte beschrieben.
Bei einer ersten Ausgestaltung wird als Substratschicht 3 ein Faserverbundwerkstoff aus Glasfilamentgewebe und Epoxidharz verwendet, insbesondere vom Typ Hgw 2372, Hgw 2372.1, Hgw 2372.4 oder Hgw 2372.4 H gemäß der deutschen Norm DIN 7735 bzw. G10, G11 oder FR4 gemäß der US-Norm NEMA L1. Auf eine Oberfläche der Substratschicht 3 ist eine Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 vom Typ einer Powder Image Plate (PIP) aufgebracht, insbesondere aufgeklebt. Diese Ausgestaltung der erfindungsgemäßen Speicherleuchtstoffplatte hat den Vorteil besonders hoher Steifigkeit, einfacher Herstellbarkeit und guter optischer Qualität.
Bei einer zweiten Ausgestaltung wird als Substratschicht 3 ein Faserverbundwerkstoff aus Kohlenstofffasergewebe, insbesondere in Leinwandbindung, und Epoxidharz verwendet. Auf die Substratschicht 3 ist eine Zwischenschicht aus Aluminium mit einer Dicke von einigen µm aufgebracht, insbesondere aufgedampft. Auf dieser Zwischenschicht befindet sich die Speicherleuchtstoffschicht 2 vom Typ einer Needle Image Plate (NIP). Diese Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 zeichnet sich ebenfalls durch eine hohe Steifigkeit sowie durch eine besonders hohe optische Qualität aus. Sie ist darüber hinaus ausreichend durchlässig für Röntgenstrahlung und damit besonders für mammographische Röntgenaufnahmen geeignet, bei welchen die durch das zu untersuchende Brustgewebe und die Röntgenkassette einschließlich Speicherleuchtstoffplatte hindurchtretende Röntgenstrahlung mit einem Sensor erfasst werden muss, um eine automatische Dosisvergleichsmessung (die sog. Automatic Exposure Control) zu ermöglichen.
Fig. 3 zeigt eines erstes Auslesegerät 10 zum Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 gespeicherten Röntgeninformation. Nach einer Röntgenaufnahme wird die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 in einer lichtdichten Röntgenkassette 11 zum Auslesegerät transportiert. Vor dem Auslesen wird die Röntgenkassette 11 mit der darin befindlichen Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 zumindest teilweise in das Auslesegerät 10 eingeführt. In dieser Position wird die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 mit einem nicht dargestellten Mechanismus aus der Röntgenkassette 11 entnommen und an einer Halteplatte 12 arretiert, wie im Beispiel der Fig. 3 dargestellt.
Die Halteplatte 12 ist hierbei so ausgestaltet, dass sie die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 z.B. durch Form- oder Kraftschluss und/oder durch magnetische oder elektrostatische Anziehungskräfte oder Unterdruck festhalten kann. Aufgrund Ihrer hohen Steifigkeit zeigt die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 dabei ein hohes Maß an Ebenheit.
Ein beweglicher Lesekopf 13 kann nun in der mit einem Doppelpfeil angeordneten Bewegungsrichtung über die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte 1 bewegt werden und dabei die darin gespeicherte Röntgeninformation erfassen. Der bewegliche Lesekopf 13 ist hierbei vorzugsweise als sogenannter Zeilenscanner ausgebildet, bei welchem mittels einer Linienlichtquelle jeweils eine ganze Zeile der Speicherphosphorschicht mit Stimulationslicht bestrahlt und das von dieser Zeile ausgehende Emissionslicht mit einem linearen Detektorarray erfasst wird. Durch das sukzessive Auslesen einer Vielzahl einzelner Zeilen in Bewegungsrichtung des beweglichen Lesekopfes 13 wird schließlich ein zweidimensionales Bild der in der Speicherphosphorschicht gespeicherten Röntgeninformation erhalten. Einzelheiten zu Aufbau und Funktionsweise eines solchen Zeilenscanners können beispielsweise der Patentschrift US 6,373,074 B1 entnommen werden.
Fig. 4 zeigt ein zweites Auslesegerät 20 zum Auslesen der in der Speicherphosphorplatte 1 gespeicherten Röntgeninformation. Auch in diesem Beispiel ist eine Röntgenkassette 11 mit einer darin befindlichen Speicherphosphorplatte 1 teilweise in das Auslesegerät 20 eingeführt. Die Speicherphosphorplatte 1 wurde im dargestellten Fall bereits aus der Röntgenkassette 11 mittels geeigneten Entnahmeeinrichtungen entnommen und einer Transporteinrichtung 14 zugeführt, welche die Speicherphosphorschicht 1 an einem stehenden Lesekopf 15 vorbei bewegen kann. Die Bewegungsrichtung der Speicherphosphorschicht 1 während des Auslesens ist in der Fig. 4 durch einen Doppelpfeil angedeutet.
Aufgrund ihrer hohen Steifigkeit behält die erfindungsgemäße Speicherphosphorplatte 1 ihre ebene Form, auch wenn sie - wie in diesem Beispiel angedeutet - an nur wenigen Stellen durch die Transporteinrichtung 14 gestützt wird.
Bei dem stehenden Lesekopf 15 kann es sich ebenfalls, wie bereits im Zusammenhang mit Fig. 3 erläutert, um einen Zeilenscanner handeln. Alternativ kann der stehende Lesekopf 15 aber auch als sogenannter Flying-Spot-Scanner ausgebildet sein, bei welchem das Stimulationslicht in Form eines Laserstrahls an einem rotierenden Spiegel derart abgelenkt wird, dass der Laserstrahl die Speicherphosphorplatte 1 entlang einer Zeile überstreicht. Dabei wird gleichzeitig das in der Speicherphosphorschicht angeregte Emissionslicht in bestimmten zeitlichen Abständen, und damit ortsabhängig, erfasst. Durch sukzessives Auslesen einer Vielzahl einzelner Zeilen bei entsprechend bewegter Speicherphosphorplatte 1 wird schließlich ein zweidimensionales Bild der in der Speicherphosphorschicht gespeicherten Röntgeninformation erhalten. Einzelheiten zu einem solchen Scanner sind beispielsweise in der Patentschrift US 6,501,088 B1 beschrieben.

Claims (8)

  1. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation mit
    einer Speicherleuchtstoffschicht (2) zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation und
    einer Substratschicht (3), auf welcher die Speicherleuchtstoffschicht (2) aufgebracht ist,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass
    die Substratschicht (3) einen Faserverbundwerkstoff umfasst, welcher aus einem mit Fasern (6) in Form eines Gewebes (5) verstärkten Kunststoff gebildet wird.
  2. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Kunststoff ein Kunstharz ist, insbesondere Epoxid-, Silikon-, Melamin-, Phenol-, Polyimid- oder Polyesterharz.
  3. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gewebe (5) aus Kunstfasern, insbesondere aus Glas-, Kohlenstoff-, Aramid- oder Polyesterfasern, gewebt ist.
  4. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach den Ansprüchen 2 und 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Faserverbundwerkstoff aus einem mit einem Gewebe (5) aus Glasfasern oder Kohlenstofffasern verstärkten Epoxidharz gebildet wird.
  5. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Gewebe (5) in Leinwandbindung ausgestaltet ist.
  6. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Substratschicht (3) eine Solldicke zwischen etwa 0,1 mm und 4 mm, insbesondere zwischen etwa 0,5 mm und 2 mm, aufweist.
  7. Speicherleuchtstoffplatte nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest eine Oberfläche der Substratschicht (3) Dickenschwankungen von weniger als ± 100 µm, insbesondere von weniger als ± 20 µm, gegenüber einer Solldicke aufweist.
  8. Auslesegerät (10, 20) zum Auslesen von in einer Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) gespeicherter Röntgeninformation mit
    einer Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) zur Speicherung von Röntgeninformation,
    einer Einrichtung (12, 14) zum Transportieren und/oder Halten der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) in einer im Wesentlichen ebenen Lage und
    einem Lesekopf (13, 15) zum Auslesen der in der Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) gespeicherten Röntgeninformation während die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) in der im Wesentlichen ebenen Lage transportiert bzw. gehalten wird,
    gekennzeichnet durch
    die Speicherleuchtstoffplatte (1) nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche.
