Definitions
- the invention relates to an intake system of an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
- An air filter is known with a housing in which an air filter element is located.
- the housing has an enlarged pot, which is designed as a resonator and therefore has an acoustic neck. This pot is additionally arranged below the air filter housing.
- the invention has for its object to avoid the disadvantages mentioned and to provide an intake system for an internal combustion engine, which can be constructed inexpensively and compactly. This object is achieved on the basis of the preamble of the independent claim 1 by its characterizing / features.
- the essential advantage of the invention is that elements such as shunt resonator or lambda / 4 tube, which usually had to be adapted as complex additional parts to an intake system of an internal combustion engine, can now be more integrated into the filter housing.
- a filter housing can be divided into areas in which a large or no air movement takes place.
- the areas in which no air movement takes place are volumes that can be used as shunt resonators.
- the advantage is that these shunt resonators participate in the production of the system without much effort. It is here to provide only an additional partition in the minimum case. Furthermore, these shunt resonators or components are not visible from the outside and therefore do not disturb the external appearance of an intake system.
- the shunt resonator can be arranged both on the raw air side and on the clean air side of the air filter housing. In both areas there may be a dead space volume, which is made usable.
- a shunt resonator is formed by an outer wall of the air filter housing, an adjacently arranged partition closes off the volume of the resonator against the further housing volume.
- a structural embodiment of the invention in a V-shaped arranged internal combustion engine in which two air filters are provided, arranged within the air filter housing two shunt resonators.
- the outer contour of an intake system or an air filter housing is determined by the shape of the internal combustion engine, this inevitably leads to cavities within the air filter housing, which can be used according to the invention.
- the cavities or walls can be provided with additional webs or other cavity elements, this can be an improvement in the context of an acoustic optimization the Resonator s lead.
- a further embodiment provides to arrange a Staubaustragsventil or Wasseraustragsventil within the shunt resonator. This has the advantage that the discharge can take place without turbulence of the components to be discharged. In one embodiment of the invention, it is provided to design the resonator as a plate resonator.
- a plate resonator In a plate resonator is a cavity between two plates, wherein the effective frequency over the distance of the plates to the wall, the number and the diameter of the openings is adjustable. A further improvement of the damping can be achieved via additional absorber material.
- FIG. 1 shown air filter housing is designed as a cover for a V-shaped arranged internal combustion engine. It has an outer contour 10 which encloses the overall housing.
- the top view shows arranged within the contour 10 plate filter elements 11; 12 below these plate filter elements is the respective Rohlufteinlass.
- the inflowing air is passed through the plate filter elements, cleaned and flows into the clean air areas 13; 14. From there, the air is supplied respectively to the cylinder banks of the internal combustion engine.
- Immediately adjacent to the respective plate filter element 11; 12 is an area 15; 16 in which little or only a small flow of air takes place. This housing portion is due to the outer contour 10, which in turn is required for design reasons.
- this area is in each case a partition wall 17; 18 provided, this runs approximately parallel to the inner contour 19; 20 and is in the area 21; 22 attached to this inner contour.
- On the opposite side of the partition is bent and forms with the inner contour 19; 20 each have an acoustic neck 23; 24.
- the partition wall 17; 18 In order for an effective shunt resonator volume is formed, the partition wall 17; 18 not only with the inner contour 19; 20 but also connected to at least two other housing walls.
- the acoustic neck 23; 24 provides the connection to the respectively adjacent clean air area 13; 14 dar.
- FIG. 2 shows in a detailed view two further variants of a partition wall 25; 26; the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals.
- the cavity 27 is designed without the formation of an acoustic neck of the cavity 28 has the peculiarity that therein webs 29; 30; 31; 32; 33, which improve the acoustic properties of the shunt resonator. These webs can extend over the entire partition height.
- FIG. 3 shows a system having a housing 34, this is closed with a lid 35.
- a filter element 36 which is constructed as a plate filter element and consists of a zig-zag folded filter paper.
- the peripheral seal 37 of the filter element simultaneously seals the cover 35 on the housing 34.
- On the housing 34 there is a Rohlufteintritt 38.
- On the cover 35 is the clean air outlet 39.
- the air to be purified flows through the unfiltered air inlet 38, flows through the filter element and is supplied purified via the outlet 39 of an internal combustion engine, not shown here.
- the housing 34 has a pulled down shape with a pot-shaped configuration 40 at which in the bottom region 41 is a Staubaustragsventil 42. Parallel to the bottom 41, a partition wall 43 is arranged.
- the partition has at least one opening 44 to the raw air space of the housing 34, this opening is designed such that both the unfiltered with the incoming air dust can be supplied to the Staubaustragsventil, as well as an acoustic property of the shunt formed by the partition shunt is effected.
- the partition wall 45 is arranged so that it forms a cavity 46 as a shunt resonator with the right-hand wall of the housing 34.
- a partition but a lambda / 4-tube 50 to provide in the region of the filter housing, which is not traversed by the air.

Description

Zeigt:
