Description

The invention relates to a method for cleaning the screen stencil of a screen printing device, in which a paper web for an intermediate pressure is placed under the screen template and printed by a doctor blade running over it. The invention also relates to a screen printing machine for carrying out this method.

A cleaning method and a suitable for performing the cleaning method screen printing machine is from the DE 199 17 794 C2 known. In this known machine, the intermediate printing table is formed as a parallel to the guide rail of the printing table einschwenkbarer table, which is below the guide of the printing table during the printing and is swung up for the intermediate pressure for the purpose of cleaning under the Siebschablone.

Machines of this type work satisfactorily, but can not prevent the disadvantage that the screen printing ink dries in part and clogs the screen cloth. It is therefore necessary in screen printing devices, despite the arrangement of an intermediate printing table used for screen cleaning, to stop production in order to clean the screen.

The present invention has for its object to perform such a cleaning largely automatically and indeed to avoid production loss during operation. At the same time, it aims to create better working conditions and avoid mis-production.

To achieve this object, it is provided in a method of the type mentioned that before the execution of the intermediate pressure, the underside of the screen stencil is wetted with a detergent. By this measure, paint residues are also released from the sieve, which are already dried and therefore by the measure of an intermediate pressure, which takes place by the movement of the squeegee on an intermediate printing paper, which is then rolled up and removed, could not have been removed from the screen template.

In a further embodiment of the method according to the invention, the wetting is carried out by a placed in contact with the underside of the screen template rotating roller or brush, which dips into a cleaning agent. The rotation of the roller or brush, the detergent is conveyed out of the bath and brought to the bottom of the screen template, where it can dissolve dried paint residues, which are then removable at intermediate pressure.

The invention also relates to a screen printing machine for carrying out the cleaning method, wherein the screen printing machine is equipped with an intermediate printing device with which a paper web is inserted under the screen template for the purpose of cleaning. The new screen printing machine is characterized by one of the intermediate pressure device associated and arranged transversely to the direction of the intermediate pressure direction of rotation body, which is coatable with a detergent and comes before the intermediate pressure in contact with the underside of the Siebschablone and can be guided along this.

By this configuration, the cleaning can be done automatically and in the screen printing machine.

In an embodiment of the invention can be provided as a rotating body, a roller which dips into a bath of the detergent. This cleaning agent may be contained in a further development of the invention in a roll comprising the bottom and adapted to the shape of the roll container, wherein the surface of the roll is formed roughened to hold a sufficiently thick layer of the detergent and to bring against the Siebschablone.

In a further development of the invention, the roller is driven in rotation, and it engages for this purpose with laterally arranged pinions in a rack, which is arranged next to the screen template on the printing unit.

The intermediate pressure device itself can be lowered and raised and thus formed and folded down, wherein a control device may be provided for determining the cleaning cycle, so that, for example, after every second, third or fifth printing, a cleaning printing operation is performed.

In an advantageous development, the roller and its associated container, to which the cleaning agent is supplied in a simple manner in the circuit, arranged at the screen stencil facing the end of a slidably mounted in the direction of blade movement paper counter-pressure roller.

In order to realize the possibility of raising and lowering of the detergent roller, the roller with the container may be conveniently arranged on a pair of pivot levers which acted upon by pneumatic cylinders so that the lateral pinion of the roller engage in the rack, which runs fixed next to the Siebschablone , In known manner, finally, the intermediate pressure roller can be provided with paper and arranged to be movable at least by the length of the screen template, so that before the intermediate pressure, the entire bottom of the screen template with a cleaning agent is wettable. In practice, the wetting in the pressure range is sufficient.

Verbrauchsmaterial in der Form von Papier fällt dann nicht an.Instead of the intermediate pressure roller with a unwound paper web can also be an endless strip material for receiving the intermediate pressure may be provided, or even a print carrier roll. In both variants, a continuous cleaning of the endless web or the print carrier roll can be ensured. Consumables in the form of paper then do not accrue.

In Fig. 1 an intermediate printing device 1 is shown, which is associated with a screen printing machine, not shown. From the screen printing machine held in a frame screen 2 is shown, which is arranged in a known manner between a mobile under them intermediate pressure roller and a squeegee unit lying above it. Fixedly connected to the screen printing machine is also a side and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the screen template 2 extending arranged rack 3, which will be discussed later.

The intermediate printing device 1 is equipped within a support frame 4 with a paper web 5, which is removable from a roll and guided so that it can be performed via an intermediate pressure roller 7 and below this again back to a second roller. The paper web 5 is guided within the support frame 4 so that they can join a reciprocating motion of the intermediate pressure roller 7 in the direction of the arrows 8.

Before the intermediate pressure roller 7, a transverse to the movement path of the intermediate pressure roller 7 extending roller 9 is arranged, which, as shown in the enlarged view Fig. 2 emerges, immersed in a largely surrounding container 10 which is filled with a liquid detergent. It is a cleaning agent that is able to dissolve the color used in screen printing.

The container 10 and guided in it roller 9 are mounted on a crossbar 11 which is mounted at the right end of a respective pivotable about the axis 12 double lever 13. The other lever arm 13a of the double lever is in contact with the plunger 14 of a pneumatic cylinder 15, which allows the double lever 13 from the in Fig. 1 shown position to swing up and down.

The roller 9 is provided at one end, on which it is mounted on trunnions in each end wall of the container 10, with a pinion 16 which, upon actuation of the cylinder 15 and upon pivoting of the double lever 13 in the counterclockwise direction in engagement with the rack. 3 is brought, like that in Fig. 2 also shown.

The protruding from the support frame 4 intermediate pressure roller 7 has on the one hand a storage and on the other two laterally projecting tabs 17 which can be brought into operative connection with the squeegee unit, not shown, or with its drive.

Die Arbeitsweise der gezeigten Zwischendruckeinrichtung ist folgende:The operation of the intermediate pressure device shown is the following:

After a predetermined number of printing operations in the screen printing machine, a pulse is delivered via a corresponding control device, which leads to the fact that during the return of the squeegee unit, the intermediate pressure roller 7, as in Fig. 3 shown, is driven under the screen stencil of the screen printing machine. Previously, by the pulse of the double lever 13 has been pivoted counterclockwise by the cylinder 15, so that the detergent roller 9 engages with its pinions 16 in the fixedly arranged next to the screen template 2 rack. During the movement of the intermediate pressure roller in the direction of the arrow 18 (FIG. Fig. 3 ), therefore, the roller 9 is guided in a counterclockwise rotating manner on the screen template 2 so that it comes into contact with the underside of the screen template 2. The roller 9 therefore wets the same with cleaning agent, which is conveyed by the rotation of the roller 9 from the container 10 when traveling along the underside of the screen template 2. The detergent is otherwise performed in a manner not shown in detail in the circuit through the container 10, so that the level of the detergent in the container 10 can always be kept constant. By wetting the screen stencil with the detergent paint residues are solved by the stencil, even if the ink should be partially dried. The roller 9 can thereby be guided once or even several times at the bottom for wetting the Siebschablonenunterseite, so that the necessary wetting takes place in each case. The intermediate pressure roller 7 is correspondingly often reciprocated by the drive of the doctor blade mechanism for this purpose.

If the wetting is complete and long enough, then the intermediate pressure roller 7 moves along with the paper web 5 completely under the screen template 2, and after lowering the squeegee printing the printing of the remaining color on the paper web 5, which is then deducted accordingly and wound up as waste becomes. The stencil 2 is also cleaned of dried paint residues.

Subsequently, the normal printing operation is resumed. By appropriate control, it is possible to perform after a certain number of prints each again a cleaning, wherein the wetting of Siebschablonenunterseite by a unique Entlangführen the roller 9 or by repeated reciprocating the roller on the underside of the screen template 2 each after a predetermined number of prints can be done automatically.

If the wetting process of Siebschablonenunterseite finished, the pinion 16 is removed by pivoting the double lever 13 clockwise back from the rack 3, so that no wetting of the screen template 2 takes place for the cleaning pressure itself and for the corresponding return movement of the intermediate pressure roller.

The invention provides a very simple way of cleaning a screen stencil 2 of a screen printing machine, which takes place automatically. The device is largely maintenance-free and allows a screen cleaning without significant production downtime.
