Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an improvement to the closure capsules.
  • closure caps comprising a base part fixed by snapping onto a neck of the container and a lid articulated on the base part.
  • the latter has a dispensing orifice and the lid is provided with a sealing pin engaging in the dispensing orifice when the lid is closed.
  • two diametrically opposite bosses are made on the outer surface of the sealing pin.
  • This sealing pin undergoes wear during multiple openings and closures of the lid, so that at the end of use of the container bosses are likely to no longer perform their function satisfactorily.
  • the present invention aims in particular to remedy this drawback.
  • the invention thus relates to a closure cap according to claim 1.
  • the wear of the relief is reduced since it undergoes lower stresses during the openings and closures of the lid, thanks to its location on the zone of increased deformability.
  • the invention is particularly applicable to closure caps in which the cover is hinged to the base part, but the invention also has utility when the cover is arranged to mount itself otherwise on the base part, for example by screwing.
  • the dispensing orifice may be defined by an annular lip located inside the base portion.
  • the zone of increased deformability extends over less than one complete revolution around the longitudinal axis of the sealing pin.
  • the zone of increased deformability may be, in an exemplary embodiment, defined by a thinned region of the sealing pin.
  • the latter may for example comprise a groove, inner or outer, which defines the aforementioned thinned region.
  • the latter may have a thickness which is for example less than the average thickness of the pin elsewhere than in the thinned region, for example substantially equal to or less than half the average thickness of the pin other than in the thinned region.
  • the sealing pin has two areas of increased deformability, diametrically opposed.
  • Each zone of increased deformability is of thickness less than the thickness of the pin between the two zones of increased deformability, in particular less than half this thickness.
  • Each zone of increased deformability is defined by a groove on the radially inner surface of the pin.
  • the zone of increased deformability can still, in another embodiment, be defined by a tongue.
  • the latter can for example be connected to the rest of the sealing pin so as to have a free edge at the end by which the sealing pin is introduced into the dispensing orifice.
  • the thickness of the tongue is for example substantially equal to the thickness of the remainder of the wall of the sealing pin.
  • the sealing pin comprises a plurality of tongues, for example three, equidistributed angularly about the longitudinal axis of the sealing pin.
  • Each tongue comprises for example, on its radially outer surface, a recess acting as a relief arranged to snap into the base portion.
  • the dispensing orifice may have a first portion and a second section portion larger than the first portion.
  • the relief can be positioned, when the lid is closed, facing the second portion, the contact between the sealing pin and the wall defining the first portion ensuring a tight closure of the capsule.
  • the first and second portions may be connected by a shoulder.
  • the second portion may have a cross section large enough that, when the lid is closed, the relief is substantially not compressed against the wall defining the dispensing orifice.
  • the pin and the dispensing orifice may be arranged so that the relief snaps under the dispensing orifice.
  • the sealing pin has for example a length greater than that of the dispensing orifice.
  • the sealing pin may have a beveled end and the relief may be behind this beveled end.
  • the relief may for example be in the form of a boss having a substantially spherical shape.
  • the apparent thickness of the relief at the surface of the sealing pin may be for example between 0.03 mm and 0.3 mm, preferably from 0.1 mm to 0.15 mm approximately.
  • each relief is for example in the form of a boss of substantially spherical shape, projecting for example about 0.15 mm on the radially outer surface of the pin .
  • the base portion may comprise a mounting skirt on the neck of a container, this mounting skirt being for example configured to snap on the neck.
  • the closure cap is advantageously monolithic, being produced by plastic injection.
  • the closure cap can be further bi-injected, the sealing pin being made of a first material and the remainder of the capsule in a second material, different from the first, in particular having a different hardness.
  • the sealing pin may for example be made of polypropylene homopolymer and the rest of the polypropylene copolymer closure cap, or vice versa.
  • the sealing pin can also be made of polypropylene and the rest of the closure cap in a mixture of polypropylene and an elastomer, or vice versa.
  • the closure cap may comprise at least one elastic tongue connecting the cover to the base part.
  • the relief may be arranged facing a hinge-film connecting the cover to the base portion.
  • the sealing pin can have two superimposed reliefs, in the direction of its longitudinal axis, to generate a double click.
  • the invention further relates to a container equipped with a closure cap according to the invention.
  • Figures 1 and 2 show a sealing pin 102 of a closure cap of the prior art.
  • the sealing pin comprises two diametrically opposite bosses 100, projecting on its outer surface 101. These bosses 100 each extend over an angular sector ⁇ of 60 ° around the longitudinal axis of the pin.
  • the tubular wall of the sealing pin has a constant thickness c in the plane of section of Figure 2, out of the bosses 100.
  • the closure cap 1 made according to the invention and shown in FIGS. 3 to 9 comprises a base portion 2 intended to be fixed on a container not shown and a cover 3 articulated on the base part 2 by means of a hinge. -film 24.
  • the base portion 2 comprises, as can be seen in Figure 5 in particular, a mounting skirt 5 arranged to snap on the neck of the container and having for this purpose bosses 6 on its inner surface.
  • the base portion 2 also has a first annular sealing lip 7 of X axis, arranged to seal on the inner surface of the neck and a second annular sealing lip 8, coaxial with the first and defining a dispensing orifice 10 through which the product contained in the container can be dispensed.
  • the mounting skirt 5 as well as the sealing lips 7 and 8 are connected superiorly to an upper wall 11 constituting the top of the base part 2.
  • the lid 3 comprises a cup-shaped wall 14 which covers the base part 2 in the closed position and a sealing pin 12 intended to seal the dispensing orifice 10 in a sealed manner.
  • a recess 13 is formed on the side of the base portion 5 which is opposite to the film hinge 24, so as to facilitate the lifting of the lid 3 by the thumb of the user for example.
  • the sealing pin 12 comprises a tubular wall of axis Y substantially perpendicular to the wall 14 of the lid 3 and, on the outer surface 15 of this wall, a boss 16 in the form of a sphere portion in the example in question, whose apparent thickness e is for example between 0.03 and 0.3 mm, in particular of the order of 0.1 mm.
  • the boss 16 is preferably made, as can be seen in FIG. 5 in particular, facing the hinge-film 24.
  • the sealing pin 12 has a groove 19 which extends parallel to the Y axis on its inner surface 20 and defines a thinned region 18.
  • This thinned region 18 constitutes an area of increased deformability of the sealing pin 12, on which the boss 16 is located.
  • the thickness a of the thinned region 18 is smaller than the average thickness b of the tubular wall of the sealing pin 12 other than in the thinned region 18, the thickness a being for example of the order of b / 2 or less than b / 2.
  • the thickness a is for example of the order of 0.25 mm and the thickness b of the order of 0.6 mm.
  • the sealing pin 12 has, near its free end 23, a conical surface 22 converging at a distance from the wall 14 of the lid 3.
  • the film hinge 24 is formed on either side of an elastically deformable tongue 25 which, by storing energy by elastic deformation, assists the closing and opening movement of the lid, in a known manner. in itself.
  • the dispensing orifice 10 has two portions, namely a first portion 30 that opens out of the closure cap when the lid 3 is open and a second portion 31, widened relative to the first portion 30, which opens inside the closure cap 1, the two portions 30 and 31 are connecting in the example illustrated by an annular shoulder 32 of the second sealing lip 8.
  • the sealing pin 12 applies sealingly against the wall of the base portion 2 defining the first portion 30.
  • the boss 16 is positioned on the sealing pin 12 so that it is then in the second portion 31.
  • the diameter of this second portion 31 is large enough that the boss 16 does not come substantially not in contact with the second sealing lip 8. Thus, the boss 16 is not compressed against the second sealing lip 8.
  • the boss 16 passes, by elastic deformation of at least a portion of the thinned region 18, the first portion 30 of the dispensing orifice 10, which generates a click sound.
  • the invention makes it possible to reduce the wear of the boss 16 by reducing the stresses exerted on it during the use of the closure cap 1.
  • the release of the closure cap can be effected with a lower risk of damage to the boss 16, thanks to the presence of the thinned region.
  • the zone of increased deformability can be achieved other than by a thinned region 18 of the sealing pin 12.
  • FIG. 10 to 12 there is shown in Figures 10 to 12 an alternative embodiment which differs from that just described by the absence of the thinned region 18, replaced by two slots 42 extending parallel to the Y axis to the free end 23 of the sealing pin 12. These slots 42 define between them a tongue 40 on which the boss 16 is made.
  • the tongue 40 may bend elastically when opening or closing the lid, to allow the boss 16 to cross the first portion 30.
  • the zone of increased deformability can be realized in another way, for example by producing the thinned region by means of a groove extending on the outside of the sealing pin 12.
  • FIGS. 13 to 16 illustrate the possibility of producing the sealing pin 12 with two substantially spherical bosses 16, diametrically opposed and projecting approximately 0.15 mm on the radially outer surface of the pin.
  • the diametral plane containing the vertices of the two bosses 16 is substantially perpendicular to the axis of articulation of the lid 3, in the example in question.
  • the bosses 16 are made on tapered regions 18 constituting the bottom of grooves 19 formed on the radially inner surface of the pin 12.
  • bosses 16 snap under the sealing lip 8 when the capsule 1 is closed, as can be seen in Figure 16.
  • FIGS. 17 to 20 show the possibility of producing the sealing pin with several tongues 40, in this case three tongues 40, equiangularly distributed around the longitudinal axis of the pin 12.
  • Each tongue 40 has on its radially outer surface a recess 50 for snapping the pin 12 under the sealing lip 8, as illustrated in FIG.
  • the sealing pin with two bosses 16 superimposed along the Y axis, as illustrated in FIG. 12, these bosses 16 being for example carried by the same tongue 40 as represented in this figure or made on the same region. thinned (not shown). The presence of two bosses 16 superimposed can generate a double click.
  • the boss 16 may have an annular shape and the zone of increased deformability extend over a complete revolution around the longitudinal axis of the sealing pin 12.
  • the dispensing orifice may be formed by an annular lip external to the base portion and the sealing pin may engage outside or inside this annular lip.
  • the sealing cap can be made entirely in the same material or alternatively in at least two different materials, as indicated above.
