Fig. 1 zeigt in schematischer Darstellung ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel eines Heizstabes 1 für eine Heizeinrichtung eines Straßenfertigers. Der Heizstab 1 ist im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel ein Flachheizkörper und enthält ein Gehäuse 2, in dem mehr als die herkömmliche Anzahl an Heizwendeln, im vorliegenden Ausführungsbeispiel zwei Heizwendeln 3 und 4, untergebracht sind. Jede der Heizwendeln 3, 4 ist für die gesamte, vorbestimmte Nenn-Heizleistung ausgelegt, die für den Heizstab 1 erforderlich ist. Ist somit nur eine der Heizwendeln 3 oder 4 im Betrieb, so liefert der Heizstab 1 die volle Heizleistung. Jede Heizwendel 3, 4 ist über einen elektrischen Anschluss 5 mit einer eigenen Zuleitung 6 bzw. 7 versehen, über die die bestimmte Heizwendel 3, 4 mit Energie versorgt wird. Die Zuleitungen 6 bzw. 7 bestehen aus einem Kabel mit zwei Stromkreisen oder zwei separaten Kabeln mit je einem Stromkreis. Die Zuleitungen 6, 7 aller Heizwendeln 2, 3 führen zu einer benutzerzugänglichen Anschlusseinrichtung 8, die beispielsweise der übliche Klemmenkasten auf einer Einbaubohle des Straßenfertigers ist.
