Abstract

A puncture or gripper cylinder is provided with at least one puncture strip that is provided with gripper pins or point needles. These pins are extendable from the cylinder to puncture and to grip a signature. At least one deflector is carried on the puncture cylinder and is extendable and retractable with respect to a surface of the cylinder. The deflector, when it is extended at least temporarily shields the signature from subsequent pins.

Description

The invention relates to a Punkturzylinder with at least one spur strip according to the preamble of claim 1.

In the operation of a folder signatures are impaled in a front end portion on the puncturing needles such a puncture bar. The spiked or punctured signatures are drawn by the rotating Punkturzylinder by a transfer nip, which is formed by the Punkturzylinder with an employee against this jaw cylinder. In the transfer gap a signature of jaws of the jaw cylinder is taken. At the same time, the spur strip swings into the lowered position and thus releases the signature. Their front part then slides over a lateral surface of the Punkturzylinders against the rotational movement of the Punkturzylinders. There is a risk that this front part of subsequent puncture needles another or, depending on the size of the Punkturzylinders, the same puncture strip strokes on which a second signature is skewered, and is damaged by them. Particularly high is the risk of damage to the signature in the delta-fold production. Here are about two thirds of a portion of the signature in front of the folding blade and a third of a portion of the signature after the folding blade.

From DE 43 40 858 C2 a Punkturzylinder with additional, acting on the leading edge of the signature grippers is known. Since the puncture needles are withdrawn there after placing the auxiliary gripper, the risk of damage to the removed signature by the puncture needles does not occur.

Die DE 100 18 775 A1, die DE 21 26 610 A1 und die DE 20 25 347 A1 zeigen Abstreifer, um Signaturen von den Punkturnadeln abzuheben. Eine Schutzfunktion ist nicht vorgesehen, da diese Abstreifer unter der aufgenadelten Signatur wirken.DE 100 18 775 A1, DE 21 26 610 A1 and DE 20 25 347 A1 show scrapers to lift signatures from the point needles. A protective function is not provided because these scrapers act under the stitched signature.

Die EP 0 019 202 A1 offenbart einen Punkturzylinder mit Punkturabdeckungen. Nähere Angaben zu möglichen Positionen oder Bewegungen dieser Punkturabdeckungen sind nicht entnehmbar.EP 0 019 202 A1 discloses a puncture cylinder with puncture covers. Details on possible positions or movements of these puncture covers are not removable.

The invention has for its object to provide a Punkturzylinder with at least one spur strip.

The object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

With a deflector which at least temporarily protrudes from a Punkturzylinder, opposite to a rotation of the Punkturzylinders over the lateral surface stroking end portions of shared by the Puncture cylinder and taken from the jaw cylinder and withdrawn from the Puncture cylinder signatures are kept away before Punkturnadeln a subsequent second Punkturleiste. As a result, the signatures are protected from damage by the second puncture bar.

Advantageously, the deflector in the Punkturzylinder and retractable. For example, it may be in a retracted state so as not to interfere during a passage through a transfer nip formed by the pin cylinder with a jaw cylinder. After passing through the transfer gap of the deflector can be extended to exercise the aforementioned protective effect for retrograde signature sections can. By retracting the spur strip, the deflector can also be retracted to be ready for the next pass through the transfer nip. In this case, the extension and retraction of the deflector can be controlled by a known cam, as well as for retraction and extension of z. As puncture needles and folding blades is used.

The deflector may be an axially parallel to the Punkturzylinder extending bar. This bar may extend over an entire width of the Punkturzylinders or over part of the width of the Punkturzylinders. The strip-shaped deflector extends only over part of the Punkturzylinderbreite, so the Puncture cylinder also have a plurality of staggered width in width arranged deflector. A strip-shaped deflector can also be provided with recesses so that it has like a comb on tines. In this case, the tines may each be assigned puncture needles of one of the puncture strips.

For an effective protective effect of the deflector, this advantageously has a radial projection with respect to the puncturing needles of one of the puncture strips. This ensures that declining end sections of signatures pass over the point needles without, however, touching them. It is also possible to form the deflector covering the puncture needles.

In a folder with a Punkturzylinder invention, the deflector is preferably arranged in the direction of rotation of Punkturzylinders in front of one of the puncture strips, so that he is located between this spur and the receding end portion of the signature, and shields the end portion of the puncture needles of the spur strip. In this case, the deflector preferably has an oblique surface which, contrary to the direction of rotation, is removed from a lateral surface of the puncturing cylinder, so that the retrograde end portion of the signature can slide as far as possible on this inclined surface.

Fig. 1 shows a schematic cross section through a known arrangement with rotatable Punkturzylinder 01 and rotatable jaw cylinder 02. Both cylinders 01, 02 are employed and limit a transfer gap 03. On the output side of the gap 03, a guide plate 04 is substantially contours of the two cylinders 01; 02 following arranged. The jaw cylinder 02 has three jaws 06, which are operated in a known manner by means of a cam 07. On Punkturzylinder 01 are in alternate arrangement Punkturleisten 08; 09; 11 with extendable point needles and extendable folding blade 12; 13; 14 arranged. As with the jaws 06 and the movement of the spur strips 08; 09; 11 and the folding blade 12; 13; 14 each controlled by a cam 07. At the puncturing needles of the spur strip 11 is a voltage applied to a lateral surface of the pin cylinder 01 and on both sides of the transfer gap 03 extending signature 16 skewered in a respect to a direction of rotation of the puncture cylinder 01 front end portion of the signature 16.

In the transfer gap 03, the signature 16 becomes pressed to the extending folding blade 12 in the jaw 06 of the jaw cylinder 02, the puncturing needles of the spur pin 11 are retracted before and release the signature 16. The signature 16 is from the jaw 06 z. B. in the delta fold in the ratio 2/3 to 1/3 against the direction of rotation of the pin cylinder 01 moved. In a variant, not shown, the signature 16 of the folding door 06 is slightly eccentrically opposite to the direction of rotation of the Punkturzylinders 01 taken gripped. The reason for this is that the front end portion in which the signature 16 was skewered on the puncturing needles of the spur strip 11 is later cut away to eliminate puncture holes through the puncturing needles.

In Fig. 2, a situation is shown for a short time after gripping the signature 16 by the folding door 06. Puncture cylinder 01 and jaw cylinder 02 have thereby turned a bit far. The signature 16 grasped by the folding flap 06 begins to come loose from the lateral surface of the puncturing cylinder 01, but has not yet completely passed through the transfer gap 03. The folding blade 12 is retracted again into the Punkturzylinder 01. Similarly, the puncturing needles of the spur strip 11 are retracted so that the end portion of the signature 16 is released.

During the following rotation of Punkturzylinder 01 and jaw cylinder 02, the signature 16 is taken from the jaw cylinder 02. The guide plate 04 stretches the signature 16 and prevents the formation of complications. Even before the signature 16 has completely detached from the Punkturzylinder 01, the puncturing needles of the next consecutive puncture bar 08 have already passed through the transfer gap 03. At the point needles of the spur strip 08 a second signature 17 is skewered. In doing so, the end portion of the signature 16 that is in retrograde from the pull action of the jaw cylinder 02 relative to the direction of rotation of the pin cylinder 01 passes over the extended point needles of the spur strip 08 and runs the risk of being damaged. This can be seen in FIG.

Fig. 4 shows a corresponding arrangement of jaw cylinder 02 and a Punkturzylinder invention 18. In this case, the same reference numerals same components as in the previously discussed figures, so that the explanation is not repeated again. As can be seen, in Puncture Cylinder 18, the three spur strips 08; 09; 11 deflector 21; 22; 23, which are controlled by a cam 19. In the deflectors 21; 22; 23, shown here in the retracted state, is about the puncture cylinder 18 extendable and extendable strip-shaped sheets, each having a counter to a rotational direction of the lateral surface of the pin cylinder 18 removing inclined surface 24 (see Fig. 6). The deflectors 21; 22; 23 can also be in the form of a comb 21; 22; Be formed 23, the tines point needles one of the spur strips 08; 09; 11 is assigned. It is also conceivable that the deflectors 21; 22; 23 made of metal, plastic o. Ä Material. All deflectors 21; 22; 23 are arranged in the direction of rotation of the Punkturzylinders 18 just before one of the Punkturleisten 08, 09, 11.

In Fig. 5, the situation is shown immediately after detachment of the signature 16 of the outer surface of the puncture cylinder 18, in which the puncturing needles of the spur strip 11 are retracted and the signature 16 is released from it. Thus, FIG. 5 shows a time corresponding to FIG. 3 in which the signature 16 has been completely released from the puncturing cylinder 18 and its end section is moving in a downward direction with respect to the rotational movement of the puncturing cylinder 18. The puncturing needles of the spur strip 08 associated deflector 22 is extended in this situation and shields the end portion of the signature 16 from the puncture needles of the spur strip 08 from.

The deflector 21; 22; 23 is arranged at least in an angular range α of 30 ° to 45 ° or from 30 ° to 60 ° by a defined by the axes of rotation of Punkturzylinder 18 and jaw cylinder 02 line 26 covering the Punktumadeln.

In Fig. 6, the critical area in the vicinity of the end portion can be seen enlarged again. For the time shown in Figures 3 and 5, the puncturing needles of the spur strip 11 subsequent puncturing needles of the spur strip 08 have passed through the transfer gap 03 and are at the level of the receding end portion of the signature 16. On the puncturing needles 08 is the signature 16 subsequent signature 17th impaled. The deflector 22 is extended and shields in contrast to the known Punkturzylinder 01 the end portion of the signature 16 against the puncturing needles of the spur strip 08 both in the direction of rotation of the pin cylinder 18 and in the radial direction. The deflector 22 is characterized by a radial projection with respect to the point needles 08. This supernatant allows him to cover the puncture needles of the spur strip 08. Furthermore, due to the inclined surface 24, a slight sliding of the end portion of the signature 16 on the deflector 22 over the puncturing needles is possible.

Of the cams 19, the deflectors 21; 22; 23 then each extended from the Punkturzylinder 18 after they have passed the transfer gap 03. The deflectors 21; 22; 23 are retracted again into the Punkturzylinder 18, after the point needles of their respective associated Punkturleisten 08; 09; 11 have been fed into the Punkturzylinder 18.
