Abstract

The knife chamber has a tongue-shaped extension (20-22) which engages with a corresponding cavity (30-32) in the feed hopper wall (39) in order to create a form-fit connection between the chamber and hopper (8). The knife chamber in the shredder casing (2) houses a rotary disc (10) on which at least one blade extending in a radial direction is mounted. The blade cooperates with a fixed stop on the casing. Material is added to the chamber via a feed hopper.

Description

The invention relates to a shredder for comminuting organic material, in particular garden shredder for branches, scrub or the like., According to the preamble of claim 1.

Such shredders have a rotating cutter disc which carries at least one chopper knife. An approximately radially extending blade of the chopper blade cooperates with a stop fixed to the housing in order to comminute material introduced into the knife chamber. The material to be shredded, such as small branches, scrub, larger branches and the like, is fed via a hopper to the knife chamber. Forces acting on the hopper must be safely derived in the basic housing of the chopper, on the other hand, must be removed to eliminate interference in the knife chamber or for maintenance of the blade of the hopper together with the lid easily.

From the WO 81/01527 a shredder is known whose hopper is fixed on a lid of the knife chamber. Threaded bolts of the knife chamber pass through fastening tabs of the cover, which is fixed by means of wing nuts screwed onto the threaded bolts on the knife chamber. To open the knife chamber, the nuts must first be loosened and the lid lifted off, which is complicated and cumbersome.

The invention has the object of developing a shredder of the generic type such that the hopper on the one hand securely held on the base housing and on the other hand is still easily disassembled.

The object is achieved according to the characterizing features of claim 1.

The knife chamber has at least one finger-like to paw-shaped, outer extension, which engages in an associated receptacle of the housing wall of the hopper and determines the single funnel form-fitting manner on the knife chamber. This simple design is mechanically highly resilient, since the forces to be derived in each case act on the edges of the recess transversely to the longitudinal direction of the extension on this and therefore a force transmission takes place substantially in the wall plane of the lid and the hopper. In the longitudinal direction of the extension, a power transmission to the extension of the knife chamber is not provided; For this purpose, the hopper is fixed to the housing in its closed position with a closure device secured, whereby a fixing in the longitudinal direction of the extensions is achieved.

To open the knife chamber, so to remove the hopper with lid, the closure device is released and the hopper advantageously pivoted about a transverse to the extension of the knife chamber pivot axis, so that - as soon as the lid is pivoted far enough high - the lid with the hopper in can be easily withdrawn from the extension, so that the hopper is separated with the lid from the main body of the chopper. The knife chamber is freely accessible for maintenance or repair work.

Advantageously, the closure device is at a distance from the pivot axis, wherein the extension is preferably arranged on one side of the knife chamber and the closure device on the other, approximately diametrically opposite side of the knife chamber.

Advantageously, a plurality of side-by-side extensions are provided on the knife chamber to ensure a uniform introduction of force from the hopper into the extensions. In this case, each extension has a substantially flat underside facing away from the hopper, and is provided with a preferably part-cylindrical rounded end face, which merges into a flat top of the extension. The cylinder axis of the part-cylindrical curve of the end face is preferably parallel to the pivot axis of the hopper.

In a particular embodiment of the invention, the receptacle in the housing wall of the hopper or its lid is formed as an outwardly open engagement opening, wherein the rounded end face of an extension comes to rest as a partial area in the outer surface of the hopper and there forms a partial surface of the outer surface.

In order to ensure a simple threading of the lid on the extensions, is provided facing away from the hopper Form edge of the engagement opening as an investment level, which is associated with the flat bottom of the extension.

The in Fig. 1 shown chopper 1 consists essentially of a base housing 2 with a blade chamber 3 therein ( Fig. 4 ). The knife housing 3 provided in the base housing 2 is closed by a cover 4, which at the same time forms a partial housing 5 of an ejection 6 (FIG. Fig. 1 ) forms for the shredded material. The ejection 6 is limited by a lower housing part 7 of the base housing 2 and the partial housing 5 of the lid 4, which covers the lower housing part 7. The housing cover 4 is part of a filling funnel 8, through which the cutter chamber 3 chopped material is supplied. This can be organic material such as small branches, scrub, larger branches and the like. The hopper 8 has in the embodiment shown a slightly oval shape ( Fig. 1, 2 ); It may be appropriate to form the hopper 8 round or in other circular geometry. The height H of the hopper 8 shown in the embodiment is to be selected according to the conditions of use.

In the base housing 2, the drive for the knife blade 10 rotating in the knife chamber 3 is provided next to the knife chamber 3, wherein the drive motor, which is preferably designed as an electric motor, is to be operated via switches arranged in a control panel 9. The control panel 9 is provided at a suitable location on the base housing 2.

The knife disk 10 rotating in the knife chamber 3 in the direction of rotation 11 has several knives 12, 13 and 14, the knives 13 arranged on the outer circumference being aligned in the direction of rotation 11 of the knife disk 10, while the chopping knives 12 have cutting edges 15 extending approximately in the radial direction, which cooperate with a housing-fixed stop 16. In the center of the cutter disk 10, a razor blade 14 rotates. In addition to the stop 16 for the chopper blade 12, a stop 17 is assigned to the rotating outer cutter 13.

In particular Fig. 4 shows, the housing 23 of the knife chamber 3 an outer, approximately radial extension 20th on, which is paw-like or hook-like and engages in a receptacle 30 of the housing wall 39 of the hopper 8. In the exemplary embodiment, a further extension 21 and 22 is provided on both sides next to the central, approximately radial projection 20, which engages in corresponding receptacles 31 and 32 of the hopper 8. The extensions 20, 21 and 22 are at a distance a side by side and have approximately the same orientation. The corresponding recesses 30, 31 and 32 are at a suitable distance A next to each other. In Fig. 3 the embodiment of both the extension 20 and the corresponding receptacle 30 on the hopper 8 is shown. The extension 20 has approximately parallel to the plane of the cutting disc 10 extending opposite sides, both the side facing away from the hopper bottom 24 and the individual hopper facing top 25 are formed flat. The front end face 26 is designed rounded from the bottom 24 to the top 25, wherein the rounding is preferably provided part-cylindrical. The top 25 of the extension 20 is - shorter in the longitudinal direction - than the bottom 24. In this case, the end face 26 forms with the bottom 24 a leading, forward edge 37. All extensions 20, 21 and 22 are - like the receptacles 30, 31 and 32 - formed substantially the same.

Da die Krafteinleitung ausschließlich quer zum Fortsatz erfolgt, liegt die Belastung in der Ebene der Gehäusewand 33 des Deckels 4 bzw. des Einfülltrichters 8.The receptacles 30, 31 and 32 in the hopper 8 are preferably formed in the housing cover 4, which forms the knife chamber 3 facing the end 18 of the hopper 8. The receptacles 30, 31 and 32 lie in the region of the housing cover 4 near the lower edge 19 of the hopper 8 in a row with distance A next to each other and are expediently designed as outwardly open engagement openings. The end face 26 of an extension lies here - like the Fig. 1 and 3 The end faces 26 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22 are thus visible from the outside and give the positive connection of the hopper to the base housing 2 an overall aesthetic embossing. Technically, the protruding up to the outer surface 27 of the lid 4 projections 20, 21 and 22 acting on the hopper 8 forces directly into the housing 23 of the knife chamber, whereby a stable, resistant connection of the hopper 8 is ensured to the knife chamber. Since the introduction of force takes place exclusively transversely to the extension, the load lies in the plane of the housing wall 33 of the cover 4 or of the filling funnel 8.

Suitably, the knives 16 and 17 associated with the knives of the cutting disc 10 are formed on an insert 33, which forms the lower part of the hopper 8 and is inserted into this hopper 8 and forms with it a structural unit.

The outwardly open engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 have - as the extensions 20, 21, 23 - approximately square to rectangular shape. The extensions are approximately in register in the engagement holes.

The hopper 8 remote edge 34 of the receiving opening 30 is designed as a system stage 36, the extends parallel to the bottom 24 of the extension 20 and has a measured in the direction of the extension 20 length 1, which corresponds approximately to the measured in the same direction half length of the bottom 24.

In the in Fig. 1 shown closure position of the housing cover 4 with the hopper 8 on the base housing 2 engage the three extensions 20, 21 and 22 approximately finger-like in the associated through engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 of the housing wall 39 of the hopper 8 and the molded lid 4 a. The undersides 24 of the finger-like, outer extensions 20, 21 and 22 of the housing 23 of the knife chamber 3 lie flat on the respective investment stages 36, while the hopper 8 near respective upper edge 35 of the engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 on the respective rounded end face 26 rest. As a result, a secure, positive fixation of the hopper 8 with the housing cover 4 on the housing 23 of the knife chamber 3 is ensured.

The housing cover 4 has a closure device 40, which can be designed as a screw plug with a gag or in another suitable manner. The closure device 40 is - relative to the axis of rotation 38 of the cutter disk 10 - the extensions 20, 21 and 22 approximately diametrically opposite on the other side of the blade chamber 3 ( Fig. 1 ) and is fixed to the housing there, in particular fixed to the housing 23 of the knife chamber 3. The closure device 40 is at a distance v to a pivot axis 29 about which the closure lid 4 can be pivoted to the hopper 8.

Starting from a closed position of the lid 4, as in the Fig. 1 and 3 is shown, the closure device 40 is released and the lid 4 is pivoted with the hopper 8 in the direction of arrow 28 about the pivot axis 29, which is transverse to the extensions 20, 21 and 22. In this executed in the direction of arrow 28 pivoting movement (opening movement) slides the upper edge 35 of the engaging holes 30, 31 and 32 on the rounded end faces 26 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22 down, resulting in a pivotal movement about the imaginary pivot axis 29, the something below the extensions 20, 21 and 22 lies ( Fig. 1 . 3 ). During this pivoting movement, the respective undersides 24 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22 lift off from the abutment steps 36, so that the housing cover 4 with the hopper 8 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22 is released to be removed. Preferably, the rounding of the end face 26 is provided such that the cylinder axis of the part-cylindrical surface is parallel to or approximately congruent with the pivot axis 29.

For placing the closure lid 4 with the hopper 8, the engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 of the housing wall 39 must be threaded onto the extensions 20, 21 and 22. For this purpose, the lid 4 is guided such that the investment levels 36 of the engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 are attached to the edges 37, at the junction of the respective lower flat side 24 of the extension 20, 21 and 22nd and its rounded end face 26 is formed. Once the investment levels 36 of the engagement holes 30, 31 and 32 rest on the edges 37 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22, the lid 4 can be pivoted with the hopper 8 opposite to the direction of arrow 28, which due to the guidance of the upper edge 35 on the End faces 26 of the extensions 20, 21 and 22, an exact insertion of the projections into the engagement openings 30, 31 and 32 results, whereby a solid, positive fit is given. After closing the closure device 40 by screwing, by a quick release or the like. Sitting the lid 4 fixed to the housing 2 fixed to the housing, so that all forces acting on the hopper 8 or the lid 4 forces safely into the base housing 2 and the housing 23 of the knife chamber 3 are derived.

The invention is particularly intended for a shredder in which the knife chamber 3 is formed of a metallic material and the housing 2 as well as the lid 4 with the hopper 8 of a lighter material such as plastic or the like. The positive fixing of the lid 4 with the hopper 8 via the engaging openings in the lid finger-engaging projections ensures a stable, resistant connection between the existing metal housing 23 of the blade chamber 3 on the one hand and the existing plastic hopper 8 and the cover 4 on the other.
